A day at The Oyu'baat (Mandalorians and Friends)

Shieldmaiden of Clan Munin (semi-retired)
Briika had just returned from the kitchen after making another pot of stew when a stranger dressed in crimson robes made his way up to the bar, sat down and ordered a drink matter of fact.

The young man was not the typical offworlder that happened to wonder in normally from the spaceport. No, there was definitely something about him that made the golden haired barmaid leery, but Bree just nodded with a pleasant smile as she usually did and grabbed the nearest bottle, pouring him a spirit to wet his lips followed by a second as requested.

I breathed in and out. Someone was smoking in the rear of the bar and it was slowly drifting towards me. However, I didn't mind. It reminded me of my old home. I didn't look at anyone in the eyes, let alone look up from the bar. Still I could tell that the Waitress was standing there read to give me another drink after I finished my second one. As I did so, in the same fashion as the first, I spoke after setting it down softly. "Thank you Ma'am."

From a breast pocket I produced a pack of kolto cigarettes. I then held them up to her asking, "You don't happen to have a lighter?" I knew that smoking was bad for the body, but by being made of Kolto, it wasn't as harmful and was smooth as it flowed into your lungs. I either awaited the words of "Get the hell out." or "Sure, here" to be said. Though it was more likely to be some variation of it.

Sabrina had just finished her first week, as new recruit of the red legion, she decide she could do with a drink. So she head down to local bar for a few, and to read a book in peace. She was getting fed up, with all jives about not being able to hit a hanger bay door. She was better than anyway, she could feel the force, they could not. Though she was like pistol training, and was planning, on incorporating into her armour, when every thing is done. She was wearing her cadets uniform, as she walked in.
As she went to the bar she saw group mando`s, the same group thugs, that told her friends we own your planet know. She head away from them, and went to the bar, where she saw a familiar face @Shawn Jenson. Sabrina then asked Can I have glass, of the house red please. She planned on sitting by her self, and reading her training manuals, as even though she did not care for these people, she still wanted to pass their tests, as she hated failing.

"Ma'am? That's what people call my buir," the golden haired barmaid giggled softly after refilling @[member="Shawn Jenson"]'s glass. "I don't have a lighter, but I do have some matches you can have," Bree replied, then reached under the counter and pulled out a flimsi covered book of old-fashioned wooden match sticks with the establishment's name printed on the front. She slid an ash tray over in front of the young offworlder, then moved off to where a new patron had taken a seat down a ways the bar.

"Coming right up," Briika smiled at @[member="Sabrina Kotass"], who had a Red Legion training manual with her, then grabbed a wine glass and filled it generously with the Oyu'baat's house red. She placed the drink down on the well-worn lacquered wood bar top with a napkin underneath the goblet. "Enjoy!"

Thank you, Sabrina replied to @Briika Tor, with slight smile on her face, as she paid the credits for the glas. She then found a table, to sit and read on. The book was called, all about your rifle, she got to maintenance parts of it, she sure rifle was broken. As she never ever ever hit`s target her target, so the focus crystal must be out, or some thing. So she started to read about calibration, and lens cleaning, and other boring stuff.

I shook my head as the woman made a comment about why I called her as such. I called people by Ma'am or sir in respective terms. I was a kind person when need be. Taking the drink and letting it slide down my gullet as fast as it could.

I took the matches and a single cigarette. Lighting the match with ease and setting the dried leaves into ashes. Inhaling a large could of smoke. It filled my chest with warmth. Breathing out. I let the smoke literally drip from my nose and let it fade into the bar counter. If she looked at me she would have seen the little waterfall effect. "No, just being polite, unless you don't like being called that."

Making her way inside only to have her helmet on her tightly, it had been a while since she had visited with her friend Briika. Letting her mind run back to that day she had stow herself a ride to this planet. Coming in with a red armor not the best in shape but something for now for her to get use to having armor upon her body. Finding a well lighted spot, having to chuckle with herself as to why it was well lited for who, was it waiting for. Giving her nod, as she walked over sitting down, by herself. Only then did she take off her helmet, what laid beneath was a very petite blonde that look younger then what she lead to believe under her helmet. As she reaching up with her slender fingers to the top of her head to unpin the top letting her hair unwind, until its blench blood, fell around her let a cape.

Next step was to get Briika attention, only then she would shout her order to her. Coffee, with your special added into, not to much, Cak'ya. only after speak that last word knowing she had misspoke it. After all she was trying to get a handle on their language it was after all one at on some terms hard to master. Sitting there looking out only to have what was her night blinds take a hold in some of the other place. To combat this she just smile and waited for her drink to be brought to her.

Sabrina saw the woman, come in to the bar, and use the native language, some thing she was not interested in learning her self. She then looked past her and saw her ultimate target, mandalmotors the most important factory in mandalorian space. Part of her wounder if they made her faulty rifle, then she wonder if she could manipulate one them to give her tour, she was wondering this as she reading how to zero your blaster.
She was losing the will to read the book, as she new it was just faulty, and she just ask for another one. She glanced over to main, group mandalorians, and wonder if any them could take her on tour of the factory.

Mac had finished his stew and drink, and sat back a bit. Standing up, he made his way to the bar. As Briika took out to tend to the new arrivals, Mac turned to @[member="Ordo"]. "Vor'e for the food Vod, t'at was t'e best stew I've 'ad in a w'ile..."

As @[member="Briika Tor"] returned behind the bar, Mac turned back to her, "Dod you make t'e stew or just serve it?" Mac dropped a credit chip on the counter and smiled. "Too bad you already 'ave a job or I'd try to steal you away to work at my pub. Don't get me wrong my cousins are good, just t'e boys aren't as pretty a face as you..."

Bree didn't care for cigarette smoke, but it was part of the job of working as a barmaid so she put up with it.

"Oh I just meant that I'm still young and Miss will do just fine," Briika said, flashing a lopsided grin at @[member="Shawn Jenson"] as she poured a cup of caf for her friend who'd just sat down at the bar.

Setting the mug down and adding a little something to give it kick in front of @[member="Tamara Lynn"], who almost could be her twin with the red armor, blonde hair and becoming a medic too, Bree chuckled softly. "We still need to work on your Mando'a, ner vod, but it's coming along nicely," she quipped lightly with mirth. She hadn't a clue to what Tamar just tried to say in the Mandalorian language, but went with it for now.

The golden blonde picked up the credit chip and nodded an appreciative 'thanks' to @[member="Mac O Shenanigans"]. "I did in fact make the stew… My buir made sure I could cook well before leaving home. Make me an offer I can't refuse, then we'll talk," she smiled back at the kilted Mando.

((OCC: At the beginning of this thread it was supposed to be Briika's first day at the Oyu'baat (as it was this alt's first IC thread). But as time has progressed and the thread is coming alive again with new people joining in, just roll with she's been around a while as the barmaid. lol))

I smiled. Polightly I nodded my head as I tOok another draft of the cigarette. Sh seemed to be all of a sudden busy with slot of people. To allow her to do her job more thuroly I decided to stay silent. Just sitting ther enjoying one of my cigarettes.

Man I need to quit smoking. Some people didn't like that fact about some people. Smoking was a habit of mine. Mostly because it kept people who I didn't like away from me. The smoke messed with them. And personally. I liked to be alone. It wa better than looking for something good, only to have it be broken again.

Brin walked into the bar still wearing his full Legion gear with the addition of the tattered cloak that covered most of his left side. removing his helmet Brin took a seat, placing the helmet down in front of him.
taking a good look inside the helmet Brin had not been impressed by the overall specs of his new armor. he had already played around with the electronics a little but this was not the time or place. placing the helmet on the seat next to him brin look around at the other people in the bar.
his gaze stopped at a girl who was clearly part of the legion from what she was wearing. the riffle and manuela laying on the table in front of her made it very clear what ever she was doing, she had no idea.

with his helmet tucked under his arm brin strolled over to the girl.
"greetings legionnaire" brin sed as he reached out his hand with a smile "you look like you are having some trouble"
@[member="sabrina"]

Sabrina looked up at her fellow legionary, she had no idea who he was, but he was offering to help. So she decide to explain Well my rifle is faulty, and I am trying figure out where, the fault is. Truth was everything looked right, but some thing must be wrong, as it does shoot where she tells it too.
@[member="Brin Vext"]

placing his helmet on the table Brin sat opposite the girl and had a quick look at the rifle. "what appears to be wrong with it?"
the weapon seemed to be fine but this was far from Brins area of expertise.
@[member="Sabrina Kotass"]

Well when I fire my blaster pistol, I am reasonable shot, but when I fire the rifle, I miss all the time. So she presumed it was the faulty rifle, well what else could be. She showed him her, book and said any idea`s? As she finished talking , she took another sip of her wine.
@Brin Vext

holing the book in one hand and stroking his scruffy bear with the other Brins eyes flicked from the manual to the rifle before him and back again "hmm"
placing the book down face down on the table so he wouldn't loss his page he pulled out a small tool kit. now with the book in hand again brin went about dismantling the MAF property. he was in his element, his mined so fixed on the challenge at hand he paid no attention to the onlookers from other tables. the ovational zap or spark mingled with the already loud bar. finally Brin sat up still looking puzzled at the manuel. "i dont get it, there is nothing wrong with this blaster"
looking up at the girl "before joining the legion did you have any experience with rifles?"
@[member="Sabrina Kotass"]

No, but I can shoot the pistol, so it has to be the rifle. Look at the rifle, half wanting to crush it. She then looked at him, and said in slightly annoyed voice Fine take it to range, and prove it`s not faulty! She did not like be questioned on it, then added And are you rifle technician?
Who was he to question her, she said it was the rifle so it`s the rifle, one day people will learn their place.

ooc it is her
@Brin Vext

"im a droid engineer. i just seem to know things about stuff i don't know where from"
Brin stood up and tucked the but of the rifle into his shoulder, looked down the sight and breathing slowly.
after a few seconds of awkward silence he handed the blaster to the girl "show me how you hold it"
Brin looked around. he didnt know enough about mandalorian culture to know if teaching someone how to fire a rifle in a bar was a common thing or now so he decided to take the safe option "on second though, maybe heading back to base and testing it on the range isn't a bad idea"

@[member="Sabrina Kotass"]
(ooc i know it is her :p do you want to move to another thread if we leave the bar and head to the rang?)

I continued to smoke on my cigarette. Taking the last puff I could from it. I clenched it between my fingers to put the slowly burning filter out from its lit nature. Turning to the woman once more, I spoke, "Happen to have a trashcan Miss?"

Jaina was on Mandalore for a "Business trip" and happened upon the oyu'baat. This was the oldest cantina in the galaxy, and it was still a great one. Walking up to the bar, Jaina removed her helmet and clipped it to her belt. She sat down and looked around. "Ne'tra gal please" She said to the bartender.
