Private A Flight to Remember

Alicio risked a smile when Inanna talked about her novels. "The worst ones are my favorites," he chuckled, crossing his arms in front of him, keeping his extremities close to his body.

I don’t want to leave like this either.

The hug was unexpected, but not unwelcome. Alicio wrapped his arms around Inanna, holding her as if the closeness could banish all their troubles. When they came apart, there was that moment of hesitation, the pull. Alicio felt it again, that desire. The fireworks. The ghost of a kiss on his lips.

Confusing, indeed.

Inanna began to stand, and Alicio had half a mind to stand up too, and stop her. Take it all back, push his confusion to the edges of his mind until later. Continue a night he had genuinely enjoyed. But he couldn't. It wouldn't be fair, for either of them.

He held on a breath longer than she did, but he did let go

"Inanna..." He paused, letting the name hang in the air, infusing all of his tangled emotions into that one word.

"Be well. We'll talk soon."

- Inanna Harth Inanna Harth -

That lingering touch was very distracting. She was in such a hurry to get out of there before she lost the will to leave him, she almost forgot to call for Elfangor.

The fox-snake undulated across the grass excitedly, climbing up her arm and winding around her torso. There was a pinpoint of purple light at the center of each of his eyes, visible only in the dark.

"Inanna..."

She froze. Between his reluctance to let go and the way he said her name, he was making this a whole lot harder, a whole lot more bewildering, and—oh no, she was walking back towards the bench…

To retrieve her box of barely-eaten ramen. No use letting perfectly good food go to waste.

You too,” she said, then practically fled into the night before she could do something she’d regret.
