A Forgotten Past

The day had taken a very interesting turn of events. Not only had Etheriud met a crew of people who were either dark side acolytes or very disgruntled Jedi. Etheriud was very surprised when the man known as Xhinx invited and led the group to a transport shuttle that took the group to his ship. Etheriud had simply been happy this man had a ship in the first place. As Xhinx and Xaryus journeyed off into the ship, Etheriud remained in the hangar with Korogum. This man had intrigued Etheriud with both his armor and his acute knowledge of the abilities he wielded. Curious, Etheriud approached Korogum and removed his hood.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you. Tell me, why were you on Alzoc III? And where exactly did you get this armor?”

Etheriud examined Korogum as he asked his question, still curious as to how this armor had come to be. Etheriud had heard of Sith armors that the old Lords had created to suit their needs. Could this man be wearing the armor of an ancient Sith Lord? Etheriud doubted his inquiry, but remained curious nonetheless. Etheriud also began searching for a lightsaber on the man. If he was armed, there was no telling what this brutish figure could do when angered. Immediately interjecting after his last question, Etheriud pulled out his lightsaber and presented it.

"Oh! Another question, would you happen to have one of these?"

Korogum looked at the man who had removed his hood and begun making small talk with him, his distant demeanor fading slowly as he adjusted to the company of others.

"It is my home, I was happily living there until the cultists of the planet decided to use myself and others for their twisted experiments. I was the only survivor after 7 years of torment, and one of their experiments went wrong, and I lost control of myself. The next I knew, I was walking through corpses and I needed to get out of their compound, so I just took this off of their leader just to rub it in. After that, I searched through the rest of their compound and found a room with a bunch of dusty old books with weird writing in them, something about Sith I think. I was compelled to read some of them, and I guess it payed off after three days of some ritual I read."

Korogum brandishes a lightsaber hilt that gleamed a dusted grey with black accents. Igniting the weapon, the Blade glowed a deep crimson with a Stygian core as black as the depths of space.

Not putting the weapon away, Korogum retorted,

"I also apologize for my behavior up until now, I haven't had any interaction with others for...quite some time...It is nice to meet you as well Etheriud."

Rathon was flying in the Bajec sector looking for some worlds that he could land to rest for a while. As he was flying through this region of the Outer Rim, he felt something... He felt two beings in the same sector headed for Alzoc III. He thought to himself that there is no possible way that there is anyone out here. As he checks his radar he notice a blip on and sure enough two signatures pop up head toward the planets surface.

Rathon thinks to himself whether or not he should join up with these two mysterious beings on the planets surface or should he just leave them be.

After about an hour of consideration Rathon decides to get back to the helm and make his approach to Alzoc III, a dead, cold, frozen planet that he thought had no capabilities of hosting such life and any vegetation for that matter.

After Xhinx and [member="PeniaeKoarae"] have finished their training, the two boarded a transport ship to return tothe other two.

Xhinx kept feeling an inlet on the back of his permanently bound helmet. Xhinx pondered to himself what mysteries lie behind his helmet, for even he didn't know his being.

Xhinx looked back at Xaryus, "We will be returning to Alzoc later on." Xhinx sat up and gathered his materials.

Dekomet takes his first steps of the shuttle onto the horrible, frigid planet of Alzoc III, drawn here due to sensing great power...as if the Dark Side itself has manifested itself on this barren middle of nowhere planet.

Could this be in connection with my missing past? Why else would the universe have sent me here.... Dekomet thought.

Etheriud nodded as the man spoke, taking his words to heart as he explained his past and reasoning for being on Alzoc. As soon as he mentioned the room of books, Etheriud became intrigued. Not only had he said these books contained information on the Sith, but that they were also ancient. This could be the material that Etheriud had heard of before he had set off for this begotten planet. Etheriud watched as Korogum activated his lightsaber, revealing the beautiful arrangement of colors; red and black. In response, Etheriud activated his, revealing the orange blade. Holding his lightsaber to his side, Etheriud examined Korogum’s lightsaber and armor; knowing now that they had indeed been stolen but wielded intense power.

“Indeed. You say you discovered old texts within the compound? Would you be interested in showing me the location of them?”

Etheriud began to wonder if Korogum was even telling the truth as he had just learned he had stolen the armor and the weaponry he wielded. If his statements were true, however, Etheriud began to dream of the possibilities that would arise from the knowledge he could obtain.

Korogum deactivated his blade and replied to Etheriud, "They are back on Alzoc, we could ask Xhinx to borrow his transport. Also, I didn't steal this lightsaber, I made it with those books instructions." Realizing the comment he had just retorted too was not actually spoken at all, Korogum became confused. "You didn't say anything about my weapon, how did I just hear that?" He asked the man, but was interrupted by two figures entering the Hangar. Korogum looked over to see the imposing black-clad being walking towards the two with the Zabrak following closely behind him.

Finally, Rathon has landed on the planets surface. As Rathon prepares to leave his ship he goes into his quarters and grabs his lightsaber, cloak, and commlink. Rathon leaves his ship and wonders out into the misty, cold, and frozen wastelands of Alzoc III.

Rathon begins to think to himself "Damn this weather is cold as all shit, I knew I should have brought my coat..."

As Rathon wonders on he sees the local wildlife which is the race of Talz. A race that is none to live on the planet Hoth and other barren, cold, and frozen worlds. Rathon decides to avoid the Talz and keep moving to the north. In the distance Rathon spots an outpost, which seems to be abandoned, and of course like the curious force user he is he enters the outpost not knowing what could await him in the darkness.

Xhinx approaches both Korogum, and Etheriud "I assume you have further business at Alzoc III, we salvage whatever materials we find, and bring them to an undisclosed location, my personal chambers, where we can research them there."

Xhinx continued forward to a transport ship, and compelled the others to follow. As Xhinx and the others entered the ship, he continued feeling this unusual inlet on the back of his helmet. Xhinx heard the others talking amongst themselves.

"We will be arriving shortly, prepare for landing." Xhinx said as he gathered his saber and cloak.

Xaryus stood looking out the ship's baywindow collecting his thoughts as he braced himself for the sharp cold that was going to greet him once they all arrive on Alzoc III. "If we're really going back there.." He thought "Then those texts must be worth a great deal of knowledge"
He turned slightly as he watched the others gear up for the landing. "This might turn out to be worth my while after all." He said with a slight smirk, but quickly cleared his face of all facial expression as Xhinx turned toward him.

Korogum gathered up his cloak around him, prepared to meet the cold of his homeworld's winds head on. As he checked his gear, he reached up to feel his mask, outlining the contours of the seal he had placed upon himself to prevent a large concentration of power from escaping. He had felt this power growing since he had escaped the compound, and it had only grown since then. The power burned his eyes, but he felt no pain from it. Confused by this, Korogum decided to ignore it, as the task at hand required his focus. Korogum thought back to when he had lived peacefully on Alzoc III, to a time before conflict entered his life, and vowed to restore it with his newfound abilities, for himself, and for others.

"It will take us about two hours to reach the compound from here, so I hope you don't mind a bit of cold."

Korogum stated to the other three beings around him, saying it more to get his mind off of other things and onto the task at hand. With that, Korogum resumed his equipment preperation in waiting for Xhinx to open the doorway into the desolate terrain of his home.

Etheriud sat quietly in the transport shuttle as it landed on Alzoc, his mind racing and contemplating what he would do once he discovered the objects within this compound, if there were any. He felt the ship land and slowly stood up, approaching the door along with Korogum. His red cloak wrapped around him as he watched the door slowly open. Etheriud looked around at the others, the look in his eye giving a sense of confusion as to who would be going first. Etheriud quickly looked away and stepped out into the cold, waiting patiently outside of the ship with his lightsaber in hand; constantly on guard due to the nearly blinding blizzard. Thoughts began to arise in Etheriud's mind.

Is this man truly telling the truth? Is he leading us to a trap?

Etheriud looked outwards into the snow, attempting to find any signs of nearby light or signs of life. The memory popped back into his head, two hours. Etheriud sighed and looked back, gazing into the ship and eyeing the men gathered within.

"Well? Aren't you lot coming?"

Xhinx watched carefully as the others left the ship, he turned around to grab a prized possession, a dark pulsating holocron. Xhinx hoped to unlock this unlock and find its secrets, whatever they may be. Xhinx returned to the others concealing the holocron under his robes. Xhinx kept thinking back to this strange connection to this one known as Korogum. Xhinx noticed a similarity between the outfitting of the two, and even the two's presences.

"Tell me about your history with the cult, I am interested. What will be found here?" Xhinx questioned, hoping for a possible lead to his own past.

As the group continued walking, the holocron on Xhinx's belt kept glowing and humming more and more intensely. Xhinx pulled it out, held it in the palm of his hands, and held it close to his head, later putting it back down on his belt. Xhinx continued the meditate on Dark Side energies while walking with the group. Keeping in mind of the mission, and his surroundings.

Xaryus braced himself for the sharp winds, battering his face, he wasn't used to such weather. He much preferred the temperate warmth of his homeworld. He pulled his cloak tighter around his form and walked faster after Xhinx, as he was walking he noticed an Aura coming from Xhinx's cloak, or well, from something under it, He'd always been acute to sensing force energy, both Light and Dark. "It seems Xhinx has a few interesting trinkets.." He whispered to himself.

Korogum trudged through the snow with little effort, and not even the harsh winds affected him, to his own surprise. "This must be part of the the power I've been feeling, maybe it is sustaining my body?" He thought to himself, but upon hearing Xhinx ask him about his past with the Cult, he replied,

"There is not much to tell of, they landed here on Alzoc a decade ago and started kidnapping and killing people from the area, that included my home. After three years of their activities, they chose to kidnap myself along with 14 other younger members of my village. Out of all of them, I was the only one to survive a month of their experiments, deeming me worthy, they decided to kill everyone else, including my family. They made sure to tell me in detail how it was done."

Korogum stopped, remembering the malice and hatred he had felt at the time. Still not moving, Korogum continued,

"After that, my Hatred for them began in a new spectrum, I felt that hate stay with me for the next 7 years of their torment, growing and growing. But I wasn't blinded by my sheer rage, I listened. I listened to their chatter, that they believed I could not hear, about some kind of Deity, some kind of energy it came from. I think they called it the Dark Side or something. Anyways, I saw many of them carry many different things in and out of my sight. Books, scrolls, Holocrons, you name it. Then, a few days ago, they attempted to perform some kind of ritual on me, and that is the last thing I remember before regaining consciousness to a compound only filled with blood, bodies, and information. So I attempted to read some of the books, as I felt an odd alluring to them, and I learned how to create my weapon, the book called it a Lightsaber I think. After that, events unfolded and we ended up here."

Korogum gazed downwards from the point he had not moved from, which had turned out to be a sheer cliff face. Below them, a Black structure that jutted out of the white landscape like a scar.

"We are here."

Etheriud listened intently as Korogum told his story, intrigued as to how Korogum had actually acquired his gear and knew about this cult. Etheriud was even further interested as he heard about how the cult had dominated this small part of the planet and had taken these children hostage for their sick experiments. He was disgusted by what they had done. As Korogum mentioned the deity, it intrigued Etheriud, along with the mention of books, scrolls, and holocrons. He listened intently to the rest of his story, not wanting to miss a detail. As Korogum finished, Etheriud too spotted the structure and stopped, examining it as best he could through the snow.

"Are you sure it's safe in there? Will there be any traps or stragglers left inside?"

Etheriud looked around at the others, and then down towards the structure. The thoughts and dreams of what was inside began to run through his head. Etheriud began to wonder what the books and texts would contain and what knowledge they would offer.

Xhinx looks over the precarious edge of the cliff side. Glaring at the possibilities of forbidden text that can teach him new things. Xhinx looked back at the others slightly impatiently "I will take point. You all can find a way." Xhinx said leaping towards the shadowed compound. Being the first one in Xhinx notices a collection of old archaic books, and holocrons. Upon seeing all of the dead bodies, Xhinx harvested what blood these fallen had, containing them in small capsules. Xhinx skimmed through all of the books scavenging what he can, Xhinx picks up old, dead holocrons, and puts them back down, as they have no interest.

Deep in the compound Xhinx found this dark looking key that had a rune like inscription on it, Xhinx held it in his hand and he felt the object emanate with a dark pulse. This obviously had some importance, without the others knowing Xhinx put the key in a compartment in his armor. With what little Xhinx found, he sat and meditated in a dark corner of the facility and placed his personal holocron on the floor in front of him, waiting for the others to follow suit. "There is still treasure to find, let us continue." Xhinx said standing back up as he noticed the others walk in, and placing the holocron on his belt.

Xaryus followed suit as Xhinx wandered the compound, he absently looked through old tomes and documents, until he came to an item of interest. An old Holocron faintly glowing through the shady darkness of the compound "Curious.." Said Xaryus as he slipped the item into his cloak, he also retrieved some ancient tablets before wandering deeper into the cultist compound..

Korogum walked through the halls of the compound, remembering all of the torment he had gone through ending only days before now. He took this time to study the layout and design of the compound, and he noticed that a lot of it felt familiar, even though he had never seen most of the compound prior to now. Coming upon a large room filled with books, scrolls and other ancient looking sources of knowledge, Korogum felt compelled to pick out and read some of them. The first tome he lifted up was a simplistic red with a golden ridge in a rectangular pattern one inch inwards from the sides of the cover. The title was inscribed in a language that Korogum had never seen before, but could miraculously read regardless.

"The principles of Kittat? How can I read this, it is not in Basic, and that's all I know..." Korogum muttered to himself, confused by this addition to his odd new abilities.

After skimming through the book, Korogum decided to save the details of it for later, storing it inside his robe. He moved further into the room and picked up a rolled up parchment of paper. Upon unrolling it, Korogum found that this too was written in the odd language from before, and had no trouble reading it regardless.

"Sith Magic? I'm not sure what these Sith are, but they sure are fond of dark and dingy places, this looks like it's more Etheriud's playing field anyways." Korogum said to himself looking around the poorly lit room, and rolling the parchment up and placing it within the folds of his robe as he had the book. With a large amount of knowledge in the room, Korogum concluded that he could spend days or even weeks within it's confines to pore over the information.

"Maybe later, I need to see what the others are doing." Korogum thought to himself as he walked out of the room, wondering how many more rooms contained knowledge for him to uncover.
