A friendly call

Vigil

Orwell, The Librarian
Vigil hummed quietly as it took in the information and agreement from [member="Lady Kay"]. Sacrifice was something only that which was alive could do, one of the few perhaps. Scanning through, it appeared very few things were only capable by those alive. Even in the case of those few droids which were considered by some 'alive', it appeared more than once that these otherwise non-living sentient were capable of this act. That did eliminate some parameters to being alive, basic organic necessities such as breathing or eating, or reproducing for that matter. Without these organic needs, the field was dramatically reduced in scale, though by how much the AI did not know.

"Interesting. Sacrifice is something only that which is alive can manage, organic or not. With this it would appear that there are very few things only those alive can actually take part in. And it holds meaning, because everything that is their personality and memories ends with the act. If this is true, Miss Kay, and we eliminate organic needs as a requisite of living, would it remain safe to say that if one is alive, it is possible that they can die, or even that they must be capable of it?"

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
This was quite the conversation that she was having with [member="Vigil"] . The topic was being discussed in such depth that it made her think of things that she hadn't really thought much of. For her, whether or not a droid or AI was alive was a matter of opinion. There were some that didn't care or were more strict in their opinions.

"Yes, that's true. Those that are alive do die. No one can live forever. Some just are capable of living longer than others."
