A light in the Shadows (Republic-PM First)

ANAXES
REPUBLIC NAVAL ACADEMY

Kian Karr had arrived on Anaxes a few hours ahead of schedule. Odd, that in his time among the Jedi, he had never made the trip to the capital of the Republic that he fought for and while he would have liked to have spent some time on its surface getting to know the place and the people, today wasn't about that.

After getting his clearance at the naval Academy, Kian made his way toward the conference room that had been designated for the meeting. Several days earlier Kian had made contact with a number of individuals within the Republic Military in the hopes of further expanding the Jedi Shadows. Today would be a meeting of the minds between himself, [member="Zane Watts"], [member="Kayleigh Tyven"], and [member="Jack Rand"]. By the end of the day Kian hoped to have a schematic......a schematic for a ship that would serve as a mobile base for the Jedi Shadows.

The idea had come to Kian shortly after taking over the role of Master of the Shadows, but it wasn't until now, when he had such valuable people willing to help, that that idea was being brought to fruition.

"Master Karr?" Came a voice pulling Kian out of his thoughts. Turning, he saw a human female standing before him. Kian smiled beneath his mask and bowed his head to the young woman.

"My apologies, I was lost in thought." Kian said, his voice deep and muffled beneath his mask. "What were you saying?" He asked, unsure of what he had missed.

"As per your request, the room as been swept for listening devices. It is clear, you may enter whenever your ready.....though the others haven't arrived yet." The soldier said, and it was clear from the sound in her voice that she thought that the security measure had been a waste of time. Kian couldn't necessarily argue with her. They were in the Republic Naval Academy, a fairly secure location. However, Kian's time with the Shadows had made him a bit paranoid....far more paranoid then he remembered being when he first joined the Order.

"Thank you Officer Kelner." Kian said, and he saw her warm up a bit at the remembrance of her name. It seemed the young officer wasn't use to being remembered by those who came to visit the higher ups. Likely she saw too many politicians, Kian amused himself with that thought as he walked into the room. It was a fairly small conference room with an excellent view of the city below. Kian didn't sit, but walked over and looked out the window as he awaited the arrival of the others.

Kian hadn't met [member="Jack Rand"] or [member="Kayleigh Tyven"] before, and his association with [member="Zane Watts"] was only in passing. It would do him good to get to know these three better, not only because of how they could help him, but because of the reputation each had garnered among those Kian had inquired of them from.

[member="Kian Karr"] | [member="Jack Rand"] | [member="Zane Watts"]

Kayleigh looked at her watch, confirming the time. Dropping the fork from her plate in the mess hall she tossed her rubbish and proceeded along toward the conference room to which she had a scheduled meeting. Kayleigh wasn't entirely sure if she was attending this meeting as a diplomat for the Republic Navy, or as the head of THI. The contact gave little detail as for what this related to, other than a new brand of ship. This intrigued both her military and creative sides. Approaching the entryway to the conference room, the two guards posted outside of the doorway saluted, then stood aside. Kayleigh returned the salute and opened the doors. Inside sat what was clearly a Jedi, a Kel Dor at that. Interesting. Kayleigh hadn't the opportunity to meet many Jedi, let alone have a meeting with one in her own back yard.

"Lieutenant Kayleigh Tyven, of the Republic Navy, and chief executive officer of Tyven Heavy Industries, at your service, Master Jedi." She bowed her head to the Jedi, rather than saluting. She had heard that was the Jedi way, and she wished to be as polite as possible. "We are waiting on others, I presume?"

Jack walked into the area where he was supposed to meet up with the other two who would be helping himself and master Kian Karr in developing this new starship. As he entered the room he saw two figures standing in the room, as he got closer he noticed the shorter one was the lieutenant he had been with on the Destiny. As he walked up behind her, she introduced herself to the Jedi. Then he put his hand on the top of her head and introduced himself. "Hello master Karr, hellooooo Juliet." Jack said the last part in a joking sing song voice.

[member="Kayleigh Tyven"] | [member="Jack Rand"] | [member="Zane Watts"]

Kian turned as the door opened and in walked a human female. Watching her walk in, Kian knew who she was but waited patiently while she introduced herself. Kian had read up on each of the people he was meeting with prior to the meeting. It was a necessary precaution, but luckily they had all passed the scrutiny of the Shadows.....or at least of all but Soli Baris. That girl was even more paranoid then he was.

"Hello Lieutenant Tyven.....or should I call you Chief Executive Officer Tyven?" Kian asked smiling beneath his mask and stepping over to offer a hand to the women. "Please call me Kian." Kian said and turned as another entered the room.

"Hello Lieutenant Rand....if I'm not mistaken." Kian said, offering his hand to the man in front of him as well. Even if Kian hadn't known what Zane Watts looked like, he would have known this was Jack Rand. His reputation as a bit of a.....flirt....superseded him.

"Please, call me Kian." Kian repeated to him.

[member="Kian Karr"] | [member="Jack Rand"] | [member="Zane Watts"]

Kayleigh let out a small burst of laughter at the comment about what Kian should call her, "Kayleigh is fine, Kian. I was just not entirely certain what hat I would be wearing today, so I thought best to introduce both roles and allow you to decide which was pro-" She paused the moment she felt a hand on the top of her head, and heard the unmistakeable voice. You can't be serious... Her ears heard none of what Lt. Rand said except his pitched sing-a-long voice, "hellooooo Juliet." Her eyes squinted momentarily. "Lietenant Romeo. What a pleasure it is to see you again." Her enunciation of the word pleasure was made in a higher pitched, almost school-girl manner. Kayleigh raised her hand and removed his from the top of her head, squeezing it with some serious pressure to hopefully apply just a small moment of pain behind her back as she lowered it, smiling toward the Jedi and her comrade. He's incorrigible. "That just leaves one other we're waiting for then, correct?"

[member="Kayleigh Tyven"] | [member="Jack Rand"] | [member="Zane Watts"]

Kian watched them both interact for a moment with an amused smile hidden beneath his anti-ox mask.

"Yes, we're still waiting on Zane Watts." Kian said, letting them in on the final member they were waiting for.

"I'll wait for his arrival before we discuss why everyone is here." Kian said taking a seat across from them.

"As for your presence today Kayleigh, your opinion is valuable regardless of the role.....but you were brought in for your ties to THI." Kian said to clarify. "It'll be apparent why shortly."

[member="Kayleigh Tyven"] | [member="Jack Rand"] | [member="Kian Karr"]

There was a sudden rap on the door - three sharp knocks heralding someone's arrival, before a young naval Ensign passed through, wheeling a holoprojector on a dolly into the room. Without even a prompt, knowing he was in the right place, he moved over to the corner of the room and plugged the device in.

What?

"Master Karr?" said the ensign, saluting the Jedi Master. "Commander Watts apologises for his absence and will be representing himself by holoconference."

Pressing a few keys, the device powered up, showing the blue holographic face of the clone of Ben Watts, clad in Republic military uniform, fully half a Galaxy away.

"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Sorry I'm not there. I'm actually at Maramere right now, deep in Omega territory. Let's get started, shall we?"

[member="Zane Watts"] | [member="Jack Rand"] | [member="Kayleigh Tyven"]

((ooc: Zane, please correct if I'm not using the proper military title, I wasn't sure what the official title was!))

"Commander." Kian said bowing respectfully to the holograph. He was unaware of Zane's trip to Maramere, a planet outside of Republic space, but was sure the Commander would explain at some point....or not....depending on the importance and secrecy of his mission there.

"The Commander is aware of the circumstances under which I requested this meeting." Kian said, turning toward Kayleigh and Jack. "So allow me to shed some light on the situation." Kian said sitting back and running a hand over his anti-ox mask.

"The Jedi Shadows are a......secretive organization," Kian said, emphasizing the words, "within the Jedi Order. Recently, it has become our goal to develop a safe haven for the organization that is not bound to any planet."

"A ship." Kian said smiling beneath his mask. "It would need to be large enough to house the Shadows, as well as provide all the necessities that a Jedi Enclave would need. Meditation chambers, training facilities....but also provide the necessary elements for our more....clandestine work."

"I believe Commander Watts has some ideas with regards to the type of ship used?" Kian said turning back toward Zane.

[member="Kian Karr"] | [member="Zane Watts"] | [member="Jack Rand"]

The holoprojector fired up, casting the image of Jedi Knight Watts. The lieutenant nodded her head towards him as she listened to Kian speak. Secretive organization? The Jedi aren't already secretive enough? Odd bunch they are. Then, like a beautiful song, one simple word would perk her ears as if she were a cat listening to the scurry of a mouse about the floor. The Jedi wants a ship?! She listened as attentively as he continued to describe what it was he was looking to construct, and utilize the ship for.

As the Jedi passed the torch to his comrade stationed elsewhere, Kayleigh began tearing through the filing cabinet that was her brain, thinking of current and past model ships that might suit exactly what he was looking to fulfill, as well as tech that could potentially expand her own business by incorporating it into this new ship. If they have a ship hull or schematic already, we've got the bare bones necessary to get started... Her mind began jumping around various subjects relating to types of power cells, weaponry and guidance systems, shields, engines, and thrusters.

Calm down Kayleigh...There's actually still people talking in case you forgot.

[member="Kayleigh Tyven"] | [member="Jack Rand"] | [member="Kian Karr"]
((tbh I'm not sure if it's gone through yet, so let's just go with commander 'cuz it's sufficiently in between.))

Behind him was the bridge of a starship - in fact, for those astute enough to realise, it was the bridge of a Remembrance-class battlecruiser. The fact that he was now commanding one of those mighty vessels was an incredible sign of his sway... and what the title of his rank actually meant now in his position.

The voices behind him made reports, complete with an Omega Protectorate officer behind him - who promptly handed Zane a datapad to sign on.

"Forgive me, ladies and gents, I am somewhat busy at this exact moment, but you'll be pleased with the results."

Omega wasn't going to give the commander a shipment of stygium without an overseer and a lot of paperwork. In the meantime, it freed Zane up to start talking about some old technology.

"A long time ago, before any of you were really major players in the Republic, I served with a lot of good people on a lot of good vessels. As it turns out, the Antarian Rangers built us a few ships. I happen to know where one is mothballed. Transferring data to you... now."

They'd momentarily receive a data burst from Zane - detailing the Antarian-class frigate, a considerably older vessel. Technical stats were bare, but it came with a list of features - the commander wasn't privy to building things like that. He wasn't an expert, after all.

"I understand Commander, and we do appreciate your time." Kian said nodding his head and continuing to listen to what [member="Zane Watts"] had to say. When Zane sent through the data on the Antarian-Class Frigate, Kian hit a key on the console before them and a holoprojection of the ship sprang to life above the table. On the console in front of each of their seats a number of readouts began to display, going through the technical data on the ship.

"Impressive." Kian said as he looked over the ship. Much of what was said meant little to him. Kian wasn't a ship builder and most of the work he had done among the Jedi hadn't involved naval affairs. Still, he knew enough to marvel at the ship before them.

Turning toward [member="Kayleigh Tyven"], Kian waved his hand out as if offering the table to her.

"You are the shipbuilder here." Kian said smiling. "Given some of the things I've talked about needing, do you feel the Antarian-Class Frigate could do the job?" Kian asked and he stared forward at the ship rotating before him. Kian got a good feeling from it. He was a rather pragmatic person, at least pragmatic compared to many Jedi, but he had also learned long ago to trust in the force. And right now the force was telling him that this was the ship.....he just hoped the experts agreed.

[member="Kian Karr"] | [member="Zane Watts"] | [member="Jack Rand"]

Kayleigh tapped her cheek a few times, looking at the rotating image of the ship. "Hmmmmm....Antarian...An...tarian....Would you mind forwarding that to me please?" Reaching into her jacket pocket, she lifted out her own datapad, flipped the visor of helmet down, activated the HUD, and began mumbling incoherent half-sentences under her breath for several minutes. 90x130 at 600MT....HDR1;12B....998CAP. Hmmm...Potentially...Yes...

"Yes!" Kayleigh slapped the table and lifted the visor of her helmet. Lost in her own world she completely forgot that she was in the middle of an actual meeting... "Oh, gosh, I apologize. That rarely happens. The two sides of my brain often combat one another for dominance, I suppose it's obvious which wins more often." She placed the datapad on to the top of the table before continuing, "This ship will suffice. Some of the tech is a bit dated, and could do with some small adjustments here and there, but nothing too extensive. See, this ship I am guessing was built for the order as a whole, no? Not exactly meant for, mmmmm, undercover operations?"

The curly haired blonde tapped her finger against her lips a few times, considering the options. "Here's my proposal. The hull itself is sound, it's the right dimensions, can hold substantial numbers, and is lightweight, therefore making it both very maneuverable, but also difficult to spot on radars. What you want though, isn't something that is just difficult to spot on scans, but, moreso, impossible, to pickup on scans. But, not only that, you want something that can get in and out when things get tight." Pulling up two separate instances of the same ship to the holoprojector, she compared the differences in her version against the current.

"Commander Watts, you are on Marramere, yes? I have a suspicion that I'd like for you to confirm. Can you get your hands on Stygium crystals? If the answer to that is yes, we can make your Jedi ship next to impossible for enemy ships to detect. Something your organization would very much enjoy I suspect. But, nevermind that for now. We can touch on that later if you have questions. First, I would replace the current hyperdrive with a GBp-629, this should increase hyperspace travel speed, good for both puruit, rescue, and retreat. Next, I would abandon the added weight of the two walkers in the cargo hold. You're secretive right? No need of those. They are huge, slow, and flashy. No good for this ship."

She paused momentarily, not having reached the two key ingredients yet in her idea. "This may be out of the question depending on availability, but I propose stripping the hull of the durasteel and replacing it with Beskar. Mandalorion Iron if you're not familiar with the term. Much stronger than durasteel. It will undergo enemy firepower without shielding for a much greater time than durasteel, and I'd say that makes it worth the cost. If this cannot be done, I recommend at the very least, reinforcing the durasteel with Turadium along key locations of the hull, namely any and all blast doors, hatches, as well as the front and rear of the vessel."

She looked around the room, making sure everyone was still awake before she finished her proposal, "Your weapons system are decent for a ship of this size, but it is packing outdated standardized shields. My recommendation is to retrofit this with a guardian-class shield generator. It requires some additional crew to operate, but will give you substantial defense from both particle and energy weapons. I've also placed Rampart II shield generators at the blast doors to the bridge, and the reactor core to protect both locations from...Unwelcome guests. They can be activated by any Jedi with the proper authorization code from the bridge, or via remote, which can be installed easily enough on any wrist comm." Kayleigh smiled as she placed down her datapad, returning the updated model and projection to the Jedi to observe.

The girl took a deep breath, her speech concluding, "The only hangup is that THI does not currenlty have a starship division. We are primarily a manufacturer of armor and weaponry. However, I have all of the resources and knowledge to get the job done. Our two manufacturing plants are not quite large enough to accomodate a starship since we were forced to relocate after Coruscant's demise. However, two solutions present itself: if you are able to procure a docking station for this vessel, I can request that we divert a portion of our resources to making the modifications to this ship. On the other hand, if you can convince the Republic Navy to grant THI a military contract to produce starships for them, I'm sure we can acquire a manufacturing plant of our own rather quickly, on top of covering all costs associated with making these modifications, thereby costing the Republic nothing at face value, and having no accountability or record of this ship's very existence, while greatly helping me out at the same time."

Kayleigh smiled as she placed her hands on the table and looked to the two Jedi and her fellow lieutenant. "So, what do you think?"

"Holy fethin' kark, LT. Can we go back to the first bit, where you said 'the'," Zane said, cheeky grin plastered all over his lips. You don't throw a wall of text like that at Zane Watts without him making fun of you. It did not happen. That, and it wasn't conducive to actual conversation.

He held up his fingers and got to counting. "No on the beskar. Not only is getting that from the Mandalorians nigh-impossible in terms of funding, there's just not enough in the Galaxy to plate a ship of that size and leave enough left over for our erstwhile allies. Let's add the fact you're missing some critical stealth tech: stygium cloak without thrust trace dampers is totally useless. "

Zane steepled his fingers and thought particularly hard at what he could do here. He had a conundrum: as far as he knew, the Lieutenant's company didn't work starships. They were more into personal gear - if he wanted his battlesuit modified, he'd go to her... not so much his starship.

"Lieutenant, I hate to break it to you, but right now you're not a starship contractor. By the time I cut through all the red tape to secure an unknown quantity a contract for modifying an extremely rare and expensive vessel, KDY would already have it done for me and at half the cost and political capital. It's not cost-effective for me to give TDI the contract."

Then he smiled a little. "But it is cost-effective for me to send you over there as my personal representative on this project while, yes, I gather the materials for the stygium. I won't lie, Master Karr - I've had my eye on the Teferi for a little while myself for Strike Ops. However, if you can use it, all the better."

Then he cast a curious glance at the third addition to the meeting. "Rand, you're being awful quiet over there. Got something to contribute? Don't wanna leave you in the dark here."

Jack Rand

Captain of The Love Boat
Jack had somewhat zoned out of the conversation, he had never actually built a ship or been part of building a ship before so this was all somewhat confusing to him. Then he snapped back into it when Zane commanded his attention. Jack straightened his posture to address the group. "Apologies, I have to admit this is my first time actually building a ship, so I thought I'd let you guys discuss the specifics and I'll take care of helping build the thing." Jack was here to help, but also he wanted to pick up on how to actually go about creating ships. It was a bit emasculating that he never learned how to actually build, but he needed to go about learning the process of actually building these things.

Jack was always better at physical work and going about the labour of stuff anyway, he usually never took charge of planning. Jack and everyone else would probably benefit from him just listening. Jack was also honestly surprised that Lieutenant Tyven was so good at it, Jack knew that she had her own company so she would be good at it, but Jack always though she had a committee or something to help with the planning. "Sorry about that. I'm not to good with planning, but I'd love to help you guys in any other way possible." Jack didn't enjoy feeling useless, he knew what was better and worse on a ship, but he wasn't to good at managing costs.

[member="Zane Watts"] | [member="Jack Rand"] | [member="Kian Karr"]

Kayleigh assumed as much on the beskar, it wasn't an easy find to begin with, and wrestling anything out of the Mandalorians hands was if nothing else, a daunting task. But it was always worth mentioning in the off chance that it were at all plausible, afterall, he was standing there talking to them from Maramere.

The girl was moderately taken back by the Jedi's following comments. "Commander, forgive me, but, if you wished to have KDY design and build you this vessel in its entirety, why then, did you ask me here? If nothing else, your own representation should be sufficient, if not more so to secure their partnership with you, given their enormous size and your order's well established roots with The Republic. It would also seem that you have your mind already well determined on the exact materials, components, and hardware you want implemented. So, while I am not entirely surprised by the denial to actually build the ship, I am confused at what exactly you wanted me here for, given that I am neither building, nor, apparently, designing any of the changes you want. If what you are looking for is simply a messenger to drop a letter to KDY for you, I'm not your girl, and I apologize for wasting your time, Master Jedi."

Kian listened intently as the others discussed things. He listened to [member="Kayleigh Tyven"]'s ideas regarding the ship, then to [member="Jack Rand"]'s response to [member="Zane Watts"] question, and finally Kayleigh's response to Zane's concerns. He listened to each of them, offering nothing up until they were done.

"Some of those modifications sound interesting, but we need to keep in mind the constraints we have." Kian said turning to Kayleigh and rubbing his facemask. "Our resources are finite."

"The purpose of this ship is to provide a base for intelligence gathering and to give the Shadows a secure location from which to conduct our operations. We will need it focused on stealth and training. I don't have any intention of taking it into battle!" Kian said smiling behind his mask. "Being able to defend ourselves is important, but we don't have to spend a large part of our budget on increasing the combative capabilities when the ship is already well fitted on that front."

"As for your presence here, Lt. Tyven, you were asked here because you can help provide valuable insight into the outfitting of this ship. Your presence here is good for our goals as well as your own." Kian said, understanding Kayleigh's position. "TDI is looking to get in on ship development and it would benefit from a relationship with the Republic." Kian said turning toward Commander Watts and waving his hand in his direction.

"TDI doesn't yet have a relationship with the Republic, which causes hesitancy on Commander Watts part, which is understandable." Kian said turning to Zane and inclining his head. This was all conjecture, of course, but it was Kian's take on the situation before him.

"By including you in the development of this ship but using KDY, the Republic gets a ship made by a contractor they know and trust, but they build a relationship.....a rapport with you."

"This might not be ideal for your company. It might not be exactly what you were expecting, or what you wanted, but it could pay off in the long run for TDI."

"As for you, Lt. Rand." Kian said turning his attention to the other man. "I asked for your presence because you are, by all accounts, a rather charismatic, people person." Kian said smiling beneath his mask. "In addition to helping with the refitting of the ship, I was hoping that you might aid in the recruitment of personnel when the time to staff the ship had come. Being in on this meeting allows you to know the sorts of things we are looking for." Kian said, wanting the man to know the value he would play in the development of the ship. Kian would need good people on the ship, and he trusted Lt. Rand to help find them.

[member="Kian Karr"] | [member="Kayleigh Tyven"] | [member="Jack Rand"]

"Lieutenant, I'm a very busy man. New ranks come with new responsibilities and I just can't be in a million places at once. I've got a military to run. If I could clone myself a thousand times, well, then maybe I could do this. But I need a pair of eyes and ears in play."

Zane folded his arms and adjusted himself - if he had a chair he'd totally lean back in it. "At the end of the day, Lieutenant, you're an untested company that wants to get into a new field. That I understand. Is it so bad to go to one of the biggest shipwrights in the Galaxy's history, see how they operate and learn a lesson or two from the best? Not only are you picking up valuable knowledge, you're getting first-hand experience. That's something that me just handing you this contract won't give you. And, again, it's cost efficiency. We've had a lot of staggering defeats in this war. I need to make best use of my resources. For you, this period is a learning experience. If you want to be a shipwright, then by all means, go right ahead. But in a cut-throat field, you need to be on the top of your game to secure military contracts. I'm trying to help you along on that path."

Meanwhile, in the hangar below, an Omega transport was currently taking care of on-loading the next batch of stygium crystals from Maramere. These were vital and delicate. At least Zane had signed Republic credits over to them; when the Omega Protectorate handlers signed off for them, they'd belong to the Republic and were therefore Zane's property. He had to resist every temptation to buy more, but then he'd have no money with which to run the rest of his war.

Oh, the problems of command.

[member="Zane Watts"] | [member="Kian Karr"] | [member="Jack Rand"]

The blonde haired girl clasped her hands together and leaned forward, placing them onto the table, the soft tone of her voice dissipated, replaced by her stern, slightly aggitated doppleganger. "Master Karr, there seems to be very little input here of mine that is of any relative concern. By what I've heard thus far, You aren't outfitting the ship with anything, short of adding a cloaking mechanism to it. I made no proposal to outfit the ship with any sort of weaponry, but if you are looking to raise an older, prototype vessel with dated tech from the ashes to put into active service, you might wish to consider overhauling a number of its features first. Namely the shields and hyperdrive. Protecting your assets seems a worthy use of funds, but that is entirely your decision. Like you've stated, I'm not a ship builder, just an armorer."

Kayleigh rose from her seat, wiping the ship specs from her datapad before tucking it back into her jacket. "If that was the goal from the get go Master Karr, I fear you've wasted your time in contacting me. While I am aware that THI may benefit at some point in the distant future from this, being little more than a messenger between you and KDY, the same company that will, in the long run, be the largest competitor for us, I don't find to be a respectful use of my resources as either a Republic naval officer, nor as a company owner. At the moment I feel that my presence is more of an inconvenience to the Commander on this subject, so with that, I thank you for your time, but I will excuse myself from this meeting. I wish you both luck, good afternoon, gentlemen."

The lieutenant turned to [member="Jack Rand"] as she started to take her leave, "Suppose I will see you aboard the Destiny in a few hours. I believe we're scheduled to depart soon. Don't be late, Admiral Stahlmann hates it when you're late." She smiled, tapping him lightly on the shoulder.

Kian considered [member="Kayleigh Tyven"] words carefully, and was honestly surprised by the words.

"When did we say we weren't outfitting the ship?" Kian asked sincerely. "Our intentions are to outfit the ship quite a bit actually. We are more then open to discuss upgrades, we simply want to keep the upgrades within the bounds of what is available and what we are looking to do with the ship." Kian said looking over to [member="Zane Watts"] and then back to Lt. Tyven.

"No where in my statements did I indicate you were not a shipbuilder, and 'just' an armorer, I would never downplay your abilities like that." Kian said smiling warmly behind his mask. He had called this group together because of their skills, because each brought something unique and helpful to the table. "I apologize if I gave that impression."

"If you feel you would be better off not being involved in this, that is your call. I'm sorry to see you go Lt. Tyven." Kian said bowing his head to her and turning back toward Commander Watts.

"Commander, what is next on the agenda?"

[member="Jack Rand"]

A long sigh left Zane's lips. This wasn't how things were meant to go, no, not at all; this meeting was pretty much an unmitigated disaster. The Lieutenant was getting extremely upset over an imagined slight; she was already out the door and there wasn't much Zane could do about that half a Galaxy away. Well, that just happened.

This was the problem with the comination of company CEO and soldier; there was way too much of a conflict of interest. It wasn't the first time a major company had command in the ranks. Zane would have to examine that carefully - and take out that kind of thing from command decisions.

The Omega transport touched down on the hangar plates and Zane could distantly hear the rumble of crates as they offloaded from a transport. The crystals were now aboard the ship, at the very least.

"Master Karr, other than that, what are you thinking? I want your opinion. This was always a Jedi ship. What does its new Jedi captain want it to do?"
