A Moment of Peace [Darron]

It had taken Rosa three years to accept her parents death. Three years of searching for answers, for someone to blame, for vengeance. Her parents had been her world, they made her what she was today and in her mind she had owed it to them to avenge them, to bring justice to those who had brutally murdered them.

Yet in this moment, this blissful moment of peace, Darron Wraith, the love of her life. The man who had shown her true happiness and a peace she had never felt before, was telling her that if it happened, she would have to accept his death. The first answer that came to her head was plain and simple.

Never.

She couldn't say that to him though, and as he drew back and looked down at her, his sapphire blues eyes locked on hers and she felt a lump rise in her throat and blinked hard against the rising tears. "I think you over estimate my ability to accept anything painful, Darron." She looked down drawing in a deep breath, desperately trying to keep the tears at bay. She leant her forehead against his chest shaking her head as she tightened her grip on him.

"I cannot promise you that, Darron. I can promise you...that I will do everything I can to avoid the darkness...but accept your death?" she looked up at him, the tears finally escaping her eyes and trailing down her cheeks.

"You need to stay strong for the Order, should I fall. Your skills are quite useful, and you'd be a wonderful voice of reason in the future. You underestimate your own worth my beloved."

Darron pulled his hands away from her waist, and instead put his thumbs on her cheeks to catch her tears. A sad smile crossed his face as he wiped them away before kissing her forehead. He had obviously spoken out of turn and had struck to close to her heart, her own history of loss had made her vulnerable. The Jedi hadn't meant to hurt, he had just meant to prepare her in case he as right and he would not be around after the Omni crisis was dealt with. Well that's rather pompous of you Wraith, who says that Omni can even be stopped? He felt a pang of naked fear just for a moment, but ignored it as he stared into those beautiful brown eye's that had captured his heart. Knowing she was an empath, he flooded her with all the love his heart could must just so she would know he wasn't planning on leaving her.

"Listen, I promise to do everything in my power to stay alive. You do the same and after this is over we will see where we can take this relationship of ours?"

A small smile crossed his face as he pulled her close, an idea had sprung to life. It seemed like an impossibility, but it brought him hope. A vision crossed his mind of a life with Rosa, and in that image he saw everything he would need to fight with everything he had. "Can you accept those terms my dear?"

There was a very small part of Rosa, that in that moment, detested him for being right. Duty would always call to them. She had a duty to support the order. To remain strong for them, regardless of what happened to Darron. Duty would end them, it would do everything it could to tear them apart and ruin them. She made a promise to herself, that no matter what, she would not let duty ruin this relationship.

His pang of fear made her draw in a sharp breath as she looked at him wide eyed, wondering what it was that had made him scared, but as quickly as it was there it was gone. Part of her wanted to ask what had caused it, but she had already asked one question tonight that resulted in pain, she did not think she could face another dark response from him. A small smile appeared on her face as she felt his love and she returned it tenfold, nodding at his terms.

"Stay alive and stay safe. I can agree to that." Moving her arms she wrapped them around his neck and tiptoed to kiss him softly, yet as she drew away she knew it wasn't enough, and she came back, this time more passionately.

"Ok beautiful, I can promise that if you will do the same."

The words barely had time to escape his lips as they started to kiss each other with unadulterated passion. Darron was fully giving himself to the moment when his blue eyes opened just barely and he looked at the chronometer. They had only 8 hours until the start of the meeting at Kuat, and they needed to be on the bridge at least two hours before hand, and it would take an hour at least to get dressed and prepared. So that would leave them with five more peaceful hours until they had to return to the normal world of duty, honor, and Omni. I wish that I could give you a full lifetime of just us, but you knew what you were getting into Rosa. I guess I did too when I first laid eyes on you at the temple on Coruscant. How things have changed.

Darron pulled away for just a second, while he picked her up and started to walk towards the bed.

"We have five hours, I suggest we use them well. We may not get another chance to enjoy each other."
As the words left his lips he fell on to the bed, with her underneath him and gave himself to passion.

THE END
