A New Friend

Mira shrugged lightly. “A lot is a relative thing, everyone has their own story to tell.” She looked at Isar with a smile before bending down to pick a small flower that seemed to be growing wildly amongst the flawless pathways. She began to pick it apart as she spoke. “The tragedy has taught me much, so I guess I’m grateful for the pain it’s caused.” She sat down next to Isar, continuing to pick away at the bluish petals. The notion of friends and family caused her to chuckle softly. It wasn’t that Mira didn’t have the support system – she just had abandoned them so many times, that they weren’t able to rely on her now.

Truth be told, Mira had become the unreliable one.

“In my journey across the stars, I’ve left friends behind and their paths have gone elsewhere.” Mira shrugged lightly. “My family? Well, my father and I don’t talk much at all. He stays on Dathomir doing whatever he does – I’m sure.” Mira looked up as she thought about her twin brother, Aton. “Aton is or was unique, I haven’t spoken to him in ages.” Another shrug before continuing on. “My mother is dead as is the majority of my family.” Mira looked to Isar with a bit of seriousness in her expression. “The wars that have waged across the universe have taken their toll on the Rekali lineage.”

Isar could only nod to Mira's statements. She was correct, of course, he didn't really know precisely what the status of her support system was. There were certain parts that Isar could relate to, but even though he hadn't known his family for an extended time, he had a family in the various Zeison Sha warriors of Yanibar.

Quietly, Isar elected to wait until Mira was finished speaking. Once she had, Isar gently reached over and took one of her hands in his comparatively larger ones. Shifting his body such that his upper torso faced Mira completely, he managed a soft smile. "Wars will forever come and go, and it will always be a struggle to deal with the consequences of said wars. However, we all need people in our lives that support us, be they friends or family."

Shrugging slightly, Isar continued. "The idea of a nomadic warrior I'm sure is real romantic to some, but it isn't terribly realistic. If you feel you have no one, you're wrong." Isar's smile grew just a bit broader. "As of right now, you have me."

Mira looked down at the kind gesture of him encompassing her hand within his own and smiled softly, gently patting the top of his hand with her other. “I know.” What did she know? How difficult war was? Perhaps. One could say that Mira was very knowledgeable in the events of war and the tragedy it brought with it. Maybe she knew that everyone needed some form of support, a system to keep them upright through times of dark. A slight shrug rolled off her shoulders as Isar continued on, not directed at anything he said in particular but a general shrug. Mira would blink as he mentioned having him as a means of support.

“Oh?” She questioned, curious as to what extent he meant by that notion. She let off a soft chuckle and withdrew her hand from his and clasped her hands together tightly. “So you’re saying that when I need someone, I can turn to you?” She looked to Isar for a moment before the ground. “Does that mean any time of the day? Night? Weekends and holidays?” Mira chuckled softly before nudging Isar in the side. “I’m only kidding of course…”

Isar placed his hands against the stone encircling the fountain, leaning back slightly. He watched Mira in silence as she responded to his statement, soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips. Once the woman had finished, Isar leaned forward, his face hovering a few inches from her own as his left hand dipped silently into the water. "Are you really though?" The large noble leaned in just a little closer, right hand moving to rest lightly on Mira's knee. "You don't want to be able to have me..."

At this point, Isar could feel the heat radiating off of Mira's body, his own heart thumping so loudly in his chest that he was sure she could hear it. "...or my attention at any time...all the time?"

Before anything further could really much happen, Isar flicked his left wrist enough to send a fair amount of water splashing over them both. Laughter immediately rose from Isar's mouth, but he did otherwise move very much at all.
