A New Opportunity

Moving past the threat of his attack, Ra didn't respond to his additional apology.

"Yes well, when I got control of the planet, it was an uninhabited ice ball of a world. People have since started living and working there. So I accepted it when they started calling me Baroness."

The hug was nice and when he spoke of her smelling nice, Ra didn't pull away full, just far enough to give him a very odd and amused look.

"How many times do I have to tell you not to call me Miss."

After speaking that, she did pull away to offer him the position of her guard.

"I do trust you, Zhin, more than anybody I know outside of one other person. Why would you attack me though?"

As she explained her story on becoming baroness he nodded and listened. This whole thing would never cease to surprise him, or at least for a long time. He wondered if he'd get to stay in the castle if he went through with the job. It was a nice one and seemed like someone was always making it fresh. Zhin wouldn't mind living in such a place, he would miss his apartment however.

Zhin answered her question about attacking before the last. "That makes me happy." he paused and smiled. Knowing that he was trusted so much was heartwarming. "Many things could happen that could cause that action. The Zhin here and now doesn't want future Zhin to hurt you. I know it sounds weird what I'm saying but please just promise me." it was a cruel request. He didn't actually think a situation like that would come up but he wanted Ra to know.

"No Miss? Oh okay, I see why you didn't want that title attached." he grinned. "You've found yourself a man haven't you? I mean, you did mention that you have trust in that one other person." he said this still grinning. Zhin looked happy and full of energy but he felt sad underneath. If his friend was married or planned on it, he would be happy for her. Though he would defiantly be jealous since he cared a lot for Ra. From the start. "Who's the lucky guy?" he assumed his guess was right and went ahead and asked.

Her friend listened to her story about getting the title of Baroness, but made no further comment on it. He addressed what she said on trusting him and why he had the request he did. While it sort of made sense to her, Ra didn't like the idea of ever hurting or killing him. If he was going to stay on as her guard though, she would have to agree.

"I think I understand. You know I don't want to think of that happening, right?"

Naturally golden eyes looked at him from two directions, one from Ra and the other nexu by the fireplace. She would only do it there was no other choice in the matter. Even then she would do her best not to kill him, just disable him somehow. These thoughts were pushed out of her mind though by his next words.

She had requested him not to call Miss before she had gotten married though, so that wasn't the reason why. Returning his smile with a large one of her own, she nodded. However, being way more in touch with emotions, Ra sensed a touch of sadness within Zhin. They had always had a friendly relationship, it had never progressed beyond that. The thought had just never crossed her mind to pursue romance with him. At the time though, she never thought she could feel or find love. That had been proven wrong and she happier than she ever thought she could be.

"Yes, I am married. Of all things to a Jedi. Just think a sith lord married to a jedi. Opposites attrack and we are total opposites in that regard, but that hasn't stopped us before and will never be an issue. His name is Jakkor."

Ra looked almost radiant as she spoke of her husband.

@Ra'a'mah

Zhin knew a friend killing a friend wasn't normal. He just wanted her to be prepared. A queen entrusts guards with her life and wouldn't think of an attack from them. That's the perspective he was trying to explain to Ra. He had no desire to betray Ra at all but the human mind can be changed from various things. As a former Jedi, memories of that life would most likely come back if he went back into combat. This scared him. Like someone coming out of a dream, it could be the same way.

He didn't speak but nodded for a reply to her question. Zhin didn't want to think their story would end like that either but dying didn't seem so bad to him. At his point in his life, he didn't care anymore. The job offer he received sounded awesome and he'd enjoy being a guard for his friend, but he just wanted the nightmare to end. And death is a possible way out. However he wouldn't get to that level of thinking. His other half still wanted to live after all. That's the Zhin he warned Ra about.

After asking about a man, Zhin got an answer and seen Ra light up while speaking about him. "Thats interesting. It's nice you don't let your beliefs affect your relationship." the concept of a Jedi and a Sith loving each other did seem bizarre. He assumed the Jedi weren't aware of Jakkor's relationship, unless the Jedi order were okay with it. Either way, he saw no issue. Two people in love, no matter their status, should love each other. "Does he live here?"

"Zhin, I agree to your term. If it's the only way to get you to stay at my side. Of course, I could always put a leash on you like I used to do to Ankhaara..."

Ra totally joking around grinned at Zhin and finally answered his question on Jakkor.

"Sometimes. We each have our own duties and jobs to attend to. He's not here right now though."

He came and he went, but they spent as much time together as they could. This castle though had belonged to Darth Vader and reminded him of his ancient past. In time, Ra hoped he would comfortable enough to live here more.

"I've actually known him longer than I've known you. That was before I knew I could even use the Force."

Ra gave him her word and joked afterwards about putting him on a leash. "Uh oh. Can't stay here, guess you'll have to put that leash on me." he said this while laughing. Her mention of the cat made him turn to see the beast. It's eyes were watchful.

Zhin nodded as she explained where her husband was. "That's understandable. A Jedi and a Sith, you both for your own gigs." that reminded him of his life as a Jedi. Days were long and hard, the only time he could have free time was once a week. On those days he'd spend time with friends. His fiance could see him during missions so she didn't mind letting him go wild with buddy's, instead of spending time with her. This made him wonder how they were doing, his friends.

"The longer friendship wins, eh?" he said this just to tease. "But honestly, I'm happy for you guys. Not just anybody could make a relationship like yours work." he rest his elbow on his knee and held his head up with his hand. I want more to drink but I couldn't.. he said inside his head.

Making a move to get the leash for him, Ra turned and joined in laughing with him. If her life had been different, they wouldn't be laughing in her library. All in all, even though her memory had been messed around with, she was happy right now. With her place in life and with the relationship settled out with Zhin.

"We spend what time we can together. You could say that the older friendship won, but...nevermind."

The thought she didn't finish speaking was that Zhin had never expressed any real interest in her. She herself hadn't thought of it either, but never expected to find love anyway in the past.

Holding one of her hands out to him.

"I still need to show you around, my friend."

@Ra'a'mah

Zhin lifted his head up when she told him he could see it that way. Confession? No, pity. he thought many things but got himself together before speaking. "Well, I'll always be here for you. But I will have to stop flirting now that I'm aware of your husband." he said sighing as a joke.

The hand of Ra appeared in front of him as he was thinking. He didn't grab it but instead stood up on his own. "A weak man requires help getting up. I am not such a man." he said this in a different and deeper voice. Zhin laughed as a result. With a smile he nodded. "Whatever you wish, my lady."

He expected a living quarters provided somewhere but wasn't sure if she'd allow that to be the castle. Zhin waited for her to lead the way.

Ra chuckled at his statement on the flirting part and rolled her eyes.

"That I never seen happening, but it makes you who you are, I think."

She wondered what Jakkor's response would be to Zhin and if they would get along. Time would tell that's all she knew.

When Ra offered her hand to help Zhin up, he declined and stood up on his own saying only a weak man needs help up and that he wasn't one.

"If you were a weak man, I wouldn't have thought of you to do this for me."

He laughed when he spoke with a low tone in his voice, she could only give him a friendly smile. Her words were serious and meant them all.

Holding an arm out to him to show him around, Ra took the lead in giving him a tour of the castle. Where the kitchen was and other areas he needed to know. The rest he could explore on his own. Eventually, she lead him to where his room would be and opened the door.

"Here's the room I have picked for you. If you like any of the others better though, you're welcome to move into them."
