Green Thumb Jedi

It’s been a slow process since Ko has started. He was patient and didn’t want to rush this. Fearing that it could possibly cause more harm than good if he cut corners. He wanted to do things right. For him simple cybernetics wouldn’t work. Most were tailored to humans and near-humans. The more alien a patient was, the harder it could become. Cybernetics also possessed a few vulnerabilities that he wouldn’t wanna deal with. So Ko chose the much slower process of commissioning cloned replacements for himself.
The actual operation was an entirely new beast. The surgery to implant the new eyes had to be performed within an isolated gas chamber. Otherwise the oxygen rich air could harm his sensitive ocular tissue during the process. Ko’s physiology seemed to compound an already delicate procedure. Demanding much more planning and forethought. Needing to ship Dorin Gas, requiring a safe environment, and a surgeon skilled in Kel Dor biology and neuroscience. Who knew how to make sure that everything was properly connected to a Kel Dor’s optical cortex.
Many of the difficulties could have likely been avoided if he’d had the procedure done on Dorin. But Ko instead felt it best to stay within the Core and on Coruscant. Where he could receive the aid of his peers. Ko knew that Jedi healers would prove crucial to his recovery. Only through blending the medical achievements of modern medicine along with the comforting aid of his friend through The Force did Ko believe that it would be a success and avoid complications and his body's rejection of foreign sensory organs invading his hollow sockets.

. . .
Now Ko was in the final stretch of his recovery. He simply laid in a hospital without his antiox mask or goggles. He felt groggy and his senses were irritated from how bright everything seemed as he finally began to wake up. As now he could finally begin to see light after so long. Slowly his eyelids began to open to reveal his silvery grey eyes. It felt both familiar and exotic at the same time. Everything was hazy and blurry. Both from drugs he was under as well as his new eyes simple lack of focus. Likely needing some time to be able to see clearly once more. He couldn’t yet tell if anyone else was in the room with him right now.
