DFS-8DS

Nobody has turned me on yet.
The war was long and brutal, although Confederacy had at first the upper hand, the Clones and Galactic Republic have begun to tip the scale in their favour. Finally, the Confederate Council has came up with a devious plan designed to win them back supremacy over the Republic and as a result, the war. Using obscure hyper-space tunnels the Confederacy launched an attack on Coruscant, capital of the Republic, under command of Count Dooku and General Grevious. Their goal was to capture the Supreme Chancellor.

DFS-8DS took part in that battle, on the side of Confederacy, of course with Alice to monitor everything via consoles on various ships she has access to, however, as they begun to lose the fight, culminating in the death of Count Dooku and escape of General Grevious. DFS was able to escape destruction that day by tagging along with one of the retreating Munificent frigates with Alice. Damaged, DFS was forced to deactivate as the on-board crew conducted repairs on him while Alice was making some hot-fixed on the droids experimental programming. However, the frigate, damaged as well, has lost itself in the obscure hyper-tunnels Grevious has used for them to make the jump to Coruscant in the first place. Stranded, their engines died due to the damage they sustained, as did their communication arrays, stopping them from sending out a distress signal.

The organic crew abandoned the ship, not too keen on dying alone in the space, Alice was saddened that she had to leave her companion behind, she saw him/it as a. . . friend by now and has a conversation with DFS-8DS for the last time before saying goodbye and covering the whole starfighter with a black cover before joining the other crew members with their escape, leaving the droids to their own fate. Finally, the frigate has crashed on unknown planet in the Wildspace, with DFS aboard, still deactivated, awaiting for the one who would wake him from his slumber and release him to sail the vastness of the Void once more.

Suddenly, earthquakes rage through the planet, forcing the ship out of its dusty crater and shaking the damaged hull along the way, DFS was tightly secured in custom holders however, so it wouldn't get any more damaged than it already was. The new event kicked the communication arrays to life, and they send out an (By now) old but still recognisable distress call after the planet died down again.

"Another lost Munificent, eh?"

The droid asked, watching over the scanners displayed on the console before him,

"Indeed, sir, what are your orders?"

The officer sitting by the console asked,

"Prepare a dropship for departure, I will lead a team and investigate what this derelict holds."

"Yessir."

Unknown Planet in Space Gone Wild,

The Siege Tower, adventuring frigate of Protectorate captained by HK-36,

Hangars

Stepping out of the turbolift the droid came out in his full armor and equipment load-out, his cloak fluttering, armor plates and many weapons clinking on his belt as he moved in a crisp movement through his flagship's hangars. Here and there soldiers would stand at attention and wave, calling out greetings to their iron commander, in turn he would return a more lazy salute or wave in passing, muttering out,

"Yes, yes, bloody hello."

Finally he would come upon the prepared dropship designed for the mission.

In their patrols by the borders of Protectorate they came upon many strange and wondrous things, this happened to be one of them, a relic of the past uncovered by recent tectonic shifts and tremors they caused. Of course the droid was more than willing to send out an exploration party and see what was hidden within the old wreckage.

And so, soon enough a dropship would break through the dust storm ridden atmosphere, making its landing towards the sandy crater where the ship was hidden, few shapes would be seen emerging, covered in protective armor, the droid among them. They would descend until finally hiss and crackling of hydrospanners opening up entry point into the derelict ship would be heard.

"Blast it."

The man with the permanent scowl cursed softly under his breath.

"You are certain about this."

"I...uhh...I am Sir. Long range scanners are picking up a ship parked in orbit. Looks like someone got to the place first."

No secret too big, no info too secure, no client too holy. Seemed like the old Outer Rim traditions were still well in place. Ironwolf wrestled with the obvious for a moment more. Clearly he had been beaten to the punch. The info sold to him had also been sold to someone else. Now that someone else, was wading through what could have been his loot. The obvious choice was to head back, and look for easier prey.

Obviously he chose not to.

"Prep me a shuttle, that old wreck of an imperial would do. This is a short jump after all. it's time for a Red 11."

The crew quickly snapped to positions, each of them knew what to do.

Except for a rather nervous looking newbie.

"What's a Red 11?"

He whispered to his neighbour. All he got in return was a cheeky grin. Ironwolf meanwhile was heading for the hangar bay. He sparked up his personal comm.

"[member="Maarah "]meet me in the hangar bay at the double, we are heading out to a party."

The dead ship was not so dead yet, the shifting plates did damage some parts of the hull to an ever greater extend than the crash landing, but it did also activate the emergency reboot sequence of almost all connected systems. Most things have gotten so damaged that a normal reboot wouldn't be possible, everything was running in a sort of 'safe-mode' that allows for most powered doors to open after only a few simple protocol handshakes.

HK-36 and his party where greeted by harsh beaming alarms of all kind, announcing critical system damage and hull breaches. And lets also not forget the flow of warm air that tried to escape through the new form of freedom.

The new visitors opened the way to a dimly lit hallway which gives access to a non-functioning turbo lift, the general crew quarters and one of the hangar decks. The ships computers made an attempt to activate some of the non-emergency lights inside the hallway, failing at most of them, it was also busy with the ventilation system, trying to reroute and find bypasses to get it working every time when a major piece of the rally failed to start up and pump air round the ancient ship in an attempt to cool it down to normal levels.

"Second ship picked up distress call." echoed a primitive robotic voice that belongs to the frigate

The adventuring group would slip through the opening they cut, ventilation systems and alarms blaring as they entered the derelict,

"Pleasant enough greeting."

The droid leading the expedition muttered,

"Keep watch on any automated defenses that could be still active."

His other party members, including his 6 honor guards, 2 organics and 4 droids, nodded, following his lead until they heard the announcement through the still-active speakers.

"Second ship picked up distress call."

HK looked up at that,

"Another visitor?"

He would comm the Siege Tower in orbit, and the four small corvettes it always brings as its escorts,

"Ping the Dancing Queen with its escort and keep a watch on any ships that could enter this system, this frigate believes that another ship has received its transmission, it might be an error due to old systems, but if it is another Protectorate party then great, if we get into a fight I do not want to be without backup."

"Yessir."

Response came quickly and the droid moved on with his party further into the bowels of the ship,

"To the hangar then."

HK commanded to his party as indeed they begun to make their way into the vessel's hangar space.

"You think it could be pirates, m'lord?"

One of his organic guards asked, HK glanced back,

"This close to our border? No, they are all with bare remnants of their power or slain by my hand, the only Pirate Lord out there with enough balls and skill to try and pull a raid within our patrols' reach would be Ironwolf,"

The droid chortled,

"But what would be the chance of me meeting with him again after such long time? It is probably some scavengers, they will flee after seeing Protectorate marks on our ships."

The barely functioning ship tries to establish a connection with the vessels in range but the data transmitter is far too damaged to be useful for that purpose anymore, if the old computer would even understand all the new bands and protocols to begin with.

The computer takes a few second longer than usual before sending power through the hangar door, but it eventually slides open. The large hangar was a bit cooler than the hallway, probably because of the more common ventilation.

It again makes an attempt to bring light back to the lamps on the walls and ceiling, only resulting in some of them shattering and scatter their tiny glass fragments everywhere, not too many did this though. The few lights that did activate were the larger ones, meant to serve as a backup, their illumination revealed the complete mess that lay on the ground. Ranging from simple B1 droids to more complex and expensive droidekas.

There was no shortage of starfighters either, there where only few meant to be piloted by organics though. A small number of Vulture and droidekas where still protected from the ground by specialized clamps that made it much easier to store large amounts of them in tight spaces while also keeping them in place in case of explosions and shocks, like a crash for example.

The computer that seems to be running the ship deems the hangar to be important, it has send a relative large amount of resources to scanners that can see intruders. It was also busy with charging some droidekas in hidden tubes around the hangar, ready to roll out whenever an intruder passed by.

It wasn't too long before streaks of white light would be seen pouring into the dark entrance of the hangar, the searching party making their way in, lighting the corridors before them with electric torches at the end of their slugthrowers and blasters. Their steps would be slow and cautious, slightly clanking on the cold metal floor.

Seeing some of the lights in the hangar already activated some of the soldiers would turn off their flashlights, looking around the preserved space.

"Try to find a console nearby and see if we can take over controls for this section."

The droid commanded to the slicer on his team, the specialist nodding as he set off to his task,

"Set up a defensive perimeter on his position, on the off chance security mechanisms still work on this ship and they will set off once we will start trying to slice in."

The rest of his squad mates nodded, keeping a wary eye around the place as they have fallen back on slicer's position, taking spots behind overturned crates or deactivated droids in order to find a makeshift barricade between them and any danger that could spring up around them.

There was an array of low-level access consoles at the beginning of the hangar, the only three consoles that could provide high-level access without a lot of cracking have been placed in a monitor area at the middle of the hangar. Used by higher ranking officers as a means to keep an eye on everything with cameras and such.

The slicer better be careful with his job, nobody would really notice the alarm bell joining the mess of beaming sounds but someone would surely notice the system freeing some droidekas to KILL the hostile intruders.

And an other handy thing to know, there is a single lone console at the end of the hangar, standing there all by itself. It looks custom made and could have been placed there after the ship was originally build.
