Vanessa sighed. She hadn't been shot at, but the comms jamming was really messing with her ability to actually understand what was going on. "Can someone maybe tell me what the hell is going on?" Another general comms message was sent to everyone, the fleet ready to engage whoever it was that fired on them.

"General the enemy ship has depressurized its cargo bay, are they attempting to board us", Kiso gave the approaching ship a sharp glare, she was not expecting the usually defenseless transport to be such a threat, she was impressed, though it made her realize the Chisel Head could use a bit more laser cannons, the problem with a multi role roles ship. Still it made her slightly worried, what sort of maniacs had joined the rebels in the battle and what lengths would they go to into achieve victory.

"Yes it seems that way, have the marines prepare for anti-boarding actions, and keep fire on that transport we may yet still be able to block off their escape", with orders sent Kiso put a hand onto her ear, opening up a channel to Jess, "Wolf, get the squad together, such a crew is most likely being lead by some highly skilled person, we will need quite the team to put him down". "Aie Aie general, will you be joining us"?, "Of course, no one gets on my ship without getting through me first, lieutenant, you have the bridge, I'll be going after intruders". "Yes General, good hunting".

With a wave of her cape Kiso excite the bridge, excited at the though of combat, it had been quite a while since her blade had been used.

OUT THERE! She looked out there and before she could think twice about it she was in the Interceptor and out into the free fall of space. She stared at the black ahead of her and started to get her bearings. She had seen @coren starchase and [member="Miko Spar"] head out to, she quickly located him.

There were other blips on her scope as well AB quickly identified other pilots and worked on the fleets. [member="Aedan Miles"] | [member="Mereel Vaun"] | [member="Tristram Senan"] | [member="Kaida Taldir"] | [member="Laira Darkhold"] |

Ok she managed to figure out who the allies where she signaled the other pilots, as she dodged some of the incoming fire. "I'm free anyone need a wingman, wing woman, wing...person." It was difficult to be what they called PC these days she was not PC she was....Rekha. She pushed the controls forward and adjusted her speed and warmed up the weapons, "AB watch our shields ok" She felt like...she glowed in the dark in this ship.

While it had some speed she needed to still get the feel of it how it moved to speed up, to make use of the balance.

This was not going to be easy

ATTACK ON THE KUMA

PT. III

"FIRE!" ordered the helmsman, a roguishly handsome Kalleran.

The Red Libation fired both turbolasers and ion cannons simultaneously, all aiming for the same exact spot on the Chisel - one of the starboard airlocks. Ideally, the combined firepower would temporarily overpower the shields in that region, which would allow for phase two.

Ben Brijj stood on the lowered ramp of the Lib, with the other dozen-or-so members of his crew. Nothin' round them but the deep inky void of space.

"Boardin' harpoons," called Smallgrin into his helmet's comms. Due a number of reasons, the internal squad based comms used by Ben's crew were unaffected by the ongoing barrage jamming affecting the ships within the vicinity of the battle, which largely prohibited ship-to-ship transmissions.

A dozen harpoons shot off into space, lengths of wire unfurling behind them, like the contrails of a missile. Every harpoon zipped in the direction of the Kuma's starboard airlock. They wouldn't penetrate the hull by much if they hit, but it'd be enough for Smallgrin's crew to use the wires and climb their way onto the corvette's hull. Hopefully.

"Start climbin' lads."

  • Reaper Squadron
    Deployed from the First Fleet
Ships Deployed:

The Shrouded Republic Navy had many experienced pilots, by necessity and as a result of their two years flight from the Sith and Galactic Empire. Amongst these pilots, there was one squadron which stood out, a squadron which had distinguished itself again and again.

Reaper Squadron was more than an elite unit within the Shrouded Navy. It was a legend. Its members have pulled off missions that everyone had thought impossible and had survived against overwhelming odds. It was a tried and tested, battle hardened unit who's fame had been earned through conflict and its members' starfighters reflected that.

Two red blood-red stripes marked the leading fighter. A wide assortment of ship outlines were painted in clear black on the side of the TIE/Reaper's ball cockpit. Ranging from X-Wings to TIE fighters, they were a testament to the pilot's experience and skill.

Rath Exigo, once a nameless Anubian mercenary, had distinguished himself during the conquest of Nibelungen. He had shown his skills as a pilot by defeating foe after foe and had earned himself a spot in Reaper Squadron, where he had quickly risen through the ranks to take command of the unit. But he had never faced a StealthX before and he was eager for the challenge.

Wiggling his wings left and right, he signalled his fellow pilots to attack, prompting the TIE/Reapers to lock their S-foils into attack position. The comms blackout had proven to be a bit of a challenge, but the pilots of Reaper Squadron were fighter aces. Each of them knew what to do. As Rath Exigo reached out through the Force, his wingmates fell into formation by his sides, lining up in a staggered double-wedge formation that resembled an inverted W.

There, he thought. Something was there, that did not appear on his sensors. No, someone. Someone strong in the Force. "I have you, now," he said, grinning, as he pushed the control stick forward. Reaper Squadron dived at a sharp angle, accelerating constantly as they made a pass on Laira Darkhold and her wingmates, firing their laser cannons as they went. While not very maneuverable, the TIE/Reapers were built for one thing: speed. And they employed that with devastating efficiency, firing a salvo, then sweeping past and beginning the loop to turn around and repeat the maneuver.

"Sometimes." Itash confirmed, while settling himself down in the bay of the attack ship. Any different day (or situation rather) the Tapani might have been more talkative, even if her ears were pointy, because she was reasonably attractive otherwise. But... there was still fear brushing his bones and nerves. Could anyone really blame Itash in the moment?

They were basically stuck in this gorram hollow brick without any viewports (oh, feth, it was good there weren't any viewports here Tash suddenly realized), flak and lasers and enemy starfighters around them, just zooooming through the cold void of space.

Feth.

"I-" A twist of his hand as the second bracers got sealed tight. "-prefer fighting on the ground." Itash informed his companion stiffly, while they zoomed through space towards the Shroud's flagship. The attack ship shuddered every now and then, lights flickering in and out of existence as inertial dampeners were stretched to their limit in response to the maneuvers made by the pilot. At some point Tash's eyes closed and he got his shet together- halfway through once they left the relative safety of their allied fleet's range.

Instead Tash stretched his presence once, inch by inch.

"What's he doin?" One of the rebels asked to another. The Thyrsians snorted, almost as one, like they were keyed together. "Distracting those fethers outside, so they don't blow us outta the sky."

The answer came from one of his Words.

They were slowly approaching Wolfe's flagship, but that was what Mecetti was doing while murmuring through his teeth. Battle Meditation on a moderate scale, just enough to make their ship harder to hit. If one was to lean in and listen to what the Tapani Lord was whispering, it might have been something like this:

No, no. No. Don't see us.

Nooooose itches, yes? yeees.

Mmhm, he did kark your wife, and he thinking he can just fly with ya? ohnooo.

All outta torpedos already?? Use the ship, mmhmyes. Nooo, different target- yes.

Very cold. Need more warmth. Immolation? Could work.

A few feet away from Mythos...
In the midst of the rain, thunder, and lightning, a small section of air began to shimmer like a heat wave. Suddenly, from the midst of the mirage stepped an Ewok, fur covered in snow. He looked around with interest, eyes like tar fire settling on the storm and, of course, the obscured figure of [member="Mythos"].

Well, obscured to most, anyway.

The rain quickly soaked the Ewok to the bone. Wind buffeted him violently. Matted fur, once brown, looked patchy and graying. He wore a bone fetish around his neck and several pouches attached to some hemp rope around his waist. Otherwise, he appeared unarmed, although he did hold a rustic looking jar in his paw.

Oh. Already started.

Some knew him as Warok the Defiler, others as the hidden Warlock of Ziost. And Mythos' ritual had drawn his attention.

"Hello."

The single word seemed unlikely to reach Mythos' ears in the midst of the maelstrom, yet it somehow did.

"So many voices. I can hear them. They want me to... help? Help you. Let me help."

(just tagging those I'm directly interacting with at present for the sake of simplicity))

In the old days, she would have had a unit of Angelii at her disposal. Warriors who'd sworn the sacred oath to fight and die for the Star Queen and the Motherland. Her battle sisters had been closer to her than her own kin. In many ways, they had been her kin in all ways that mattered.

They had fought and bled on countless blood-soaked battlefields of this broken, war-torn Galaxy, experiencing both glorious triumphs and crushing defeats. Now that had all come to an end. One could only suffer so many betrayals, deal with so many cases of corruption and incompetence on the part of armchair generals and decadent nobles before the oath became meaningless. Oathbreaker. Dashdae Eldorai. Heretic. Words hurled at her by fools and knaves. But there were Eldorai like her who had seen the light. She would gather them in time.

For the time being, she focused on something more pressing and imminent. Namely getting through this boarding action. Anger would serve her little here - and it would be misplaced in any case. The Tapani got a grunt from her in response when he conveyed to her that he preferred to fight on the ground. "Get ahold of yourself."

As it turned out, he did just that of his own accord. This was good because she was terrible at pep talks. Their intrusion appeared to go unnoticed by the Star Destroyer, for now at least. Then again, the crew of the huge warship probably had more pressing matters to concern itself with. Such as the space battle, though their side appeared to possess superior numbers in that arena.

The pilot of the boarding craft steered it towards the warship's aft section. Invisible claws pointed towards a weak spot in the vessel just above the engine system, close to where waste products would be expelled. "Prepare for impact. This is gonna get rough. Be ready to move," the grizzled pilot said gruffly as the engine boosters kicked into gear, propelling the craft towards the weak spot.

There was a thud as it hit its destination. The field disruptor came to life, opening up a hole inside the shielding. The spikes pierced the vessel, puncturing a small hole inside it, allowing the unlikely duo of Eldorai cryomancer and Tapani mentalist plus the goons to board. Doubtless they would not remain undetected for long.

Objective: Ritual #3
Allies: The Defiler

When Mythos screamed at the storm not only did the storm's force intensify but the ground began to shake and quiver all round him, the armies already amassing had spread out and began their battle positions by the time this happened. The eye of the storm was exactly where Mythos was standing and now was the time not to chant, not to kill more souls but to prepare for what was coming. One did not bend the will of a living world without it having the force and power to strike back and now Mythos had created something that was coming straight for him.

In the distance, the spirit of Angramar was coming and it sought to be free of the taint of the Sith.
maxresdefault.jpg
Mythos descended from the sky gracefully, well aware of the power he had just unleashed on himself but it was necessary, he needed to bend the will of a living world, to conjure the storm and have dominion over nature but he could not do that for Angramar itself, the force itself giving consent. This was the power of the living force, the energy that dwelt in all living things, all around him, fighting back. Mythos had unleashed, willingly, a manifestation of the living force of an entire planet into a singular being called a smoke demon. To control a smoke demon one first had to dominate it and summon it, the energy that it took was that of a whole world, once he was out of the way Mythos would be able to control the storm at his leisure... He had planned to do this alone and was confident in his odds of defeating and shackling the being to his will... but with some help from another he was certain.

Around him was the Eye of the storm, the sand covered everything around him in a typhoon except for a singular path that a mile away showed Angramar coming closer and closer. He was not scared of the being approaching him but he was cautious and concerned, this would be the first time he would fight anything like this power. That is when he heard it, a familiar voice from a being he had only ever seen once. [member="Warok the Defiler"]. If stories were true, this ewok was incredibly powerful and had a mastery of magic and curses that fought Lord Sebastain, rumors say he won. A smile crept on his lips before he spoke.

"Defiler..."

His voice was weak, the chanting and exertion of his throat and muscles made blood spew with every word, an incredible pain. Looking over his shoulder he nodded and gestured with his eyes to the monstrosity that approached them both. The Demon would not be content if he did kill Mythos, he would also hunt down and slaughter everything in it's way until it's energy was spent and it would return to the world. A hoarse, broken and bloody laugh escaped his lips upon hearing the proposal of the defiler. Now Mythos was not only confident of his victory over this demon but entirely sure of his victory.

"Angramar comes Defiler, We bring it down together."

They would defeat this demon but it would not be easy, the force screamed around this manifestation. The storm itself bent around it almost as a part of it, it's eyes instead of pupils looked like shining stars in a body of pure, inescapable blackness. The body it had was humanoid, it's arms and hand stretching tendrils of what could only be described as the abyss of space. Above it's eyes and what could be called a head where two horns, one pointing upward the other down as a mockery of the infinity symbol the living beings of the galaxy used. Around it all stone broke and vanished into it'self, not shattering away but being absorbed inside it like black hole never to be seen again as if swallowed by the vastness of space into a dimension or realm that should not be. It also spoke... It spoke a language or something that no living being to Mythos' knowledge at least was familiar with...

It's voice if it could be called that was something that could only be described as the lowest vibrations and tones any being Mythos had known could create and nothing a machine could replicate. It vibrated through the force not only powerfully but with a palpable sense of violent intent. The feeling in Mythos' body was that of crushing horror and fear but as a sith he was able to resist, it's foreboding and ominous power however made a very human chill go up the God-Kings spine. Mythos had studied the texts of this ritual, he had gone through the texts and prepared himself the best he could but he would have never in his wildest dreams imagine something like this. It was coming straight for him and it seemed to move in a way that also did not seem humanoid or alien even, manifestations of force ghosts Mythos had encountered did not move like this. It was like a broken holotape that skipped, it seemed to appear and re appear in milliseconds.

One thing was clear. It would take every ounce of strength Mythos had to bring This Demon to heel.

"Alright. Take him to that chisel shaped thing," Ever said with a sigh. "Then we leave."

"Agreed," the Captain replied before directing helm control to do just that.

It didn't really sound all that enjoyable, flying directly at an enemy ship, but they were relatively fast and those ships were mostly occupied with fighting the actual combat ships around them. Plus they weren't going to fire an actual shot, and hadn't as of yet in the engagement. The Starfighter Corp had, but that was mostly to preserve their ability to flee. She still didn't completely understand had this had turned into such a massive brawl in the first place. A civilian ship and a diplomatic vessel enter the system and then shooting starts, and then battleships of other varieties arrived. It was weird. She'd have to mention that in her debrief so someone could try and piece together the semantics of it all.

The ship flew closer to the enemy vessel, and Ever picked up her comm.

"Starboard, Mereel."

The ship would move quickly into the vicinity of the Chisel Head, allowing Mereel to launch himself when he deemed appropriate, and then would move off, heading away from combat with the remainder of the Starfighter Wing that had been lead into combat by White Squadron. Their ultimate goal being to get out of range of any interdiction fields before making the jump into hyperspace and leaving all of this tomfoolery behind. Ever already had a headache and she hadn't even had to do anything. It was just one of those days.

Location: RNV Herald, soon to be space
Objective: Board a 3rd Fleet Chisel Head Corvette

Mereel activated his helmet commlink and ran down the Herald's main hallway, "Copy that, heading for an airlock now."

As he found an airlock along the starboard wall, he realized that he could very well be commiting to a suicide mission. There could be over 100 hostiles crewing that corvette, one man couldn't do a lot against a hundred. I'm thinking too far ahead. Worry about it once I get there..

He opened the airlock's inner door and stepped inside. As the airlock door closed behind him, he slowed his breathing and emptied his thoughts, practicing a meditation technique.

Feeling recollected, he checked to make sure that all of his gear was secured to his person. As he moved his hand to press the button that would open the outer airlock door, he activated his helmet commlink again, "Departing the Herald now. Ret'urcye mhi."

He cut his helmet's commlink and pressed the button to open the outer airlock. He let the air flowing out of the chamber carry him out and away from the Herald before he activated his jetpack. He aimed himself at the nearest Chisel Head corvette.

Solan almost appeared to be ignoring the armored giant of a man, [member="The Matador"] a side thought that required no attention until the words Open Fire hit Solan's ears. With that he looked over his shoulder and stared at the man who stood over him, debating how to answer did not take long and a wolf like grin stretched across his face as a singular finger came up and his thumb touched the same finger. With a quick snap of his fingers he spoke, smiling still as the unnecessary motion was more for his imagination, thinking about how simple it would be to incinerate anyone else that had given him that command. He did not need to kill people normally, but this man was starting to annoy Solan for thinking that he was better or more important. As far as Solan cared, this man was no more important than he was, as they were both scum that used the darkside to cause death and pain.

"While I would love to listen to that command, go kark yourself. I have more important and better things to do than get your people wiped out, and my home put in danger, plus the two you are asking me to fire on are my friends, more than I could say for you and your hellish king." Solan began, no intention of stopping and soon he stood to march towards the front of the shuttle, seeing his flagship come into view now as they drew close to the hanger.

"You are a pawn, nothing more when it comes to how your hellish leader sees you, just as I am. Though I prefer to consider myself as a Knight, because my actions actually take thought and I am no mere sacrificial lamb like you. While fighting the two that you wish me to would end in my victory, there is far more that I can do to succeed in this endeavor of dealing with [member="Taeli Raaf"] and [member="Jorus Merrill"]. The two of them are far more inclined to peace, especially one that would turn to the lightside after being a successful Sith, and the other who's power resides in his allies, not his own. Such people, while they are potent enemies, are far more useful as allies. I would suggest you sit down and shut up, because I will be gaining you victory with no bloodshed today. So just play along and I won't have to forsake your people, and let them turn that moon of yours into a smoldering heap of useless rock, that not even the scavengers of the galaxy will find has any use."

His smile remained and he turned around, staring out of the viewport and tapping his arm before getting the ok from his pilot. They were out of range of the jamming, which meant he could finally contact Jorus, Taeli, Aedan, and his own crew. Before doing so he cleared his voice and spoke in a tone that would be instantly recognizable to all those that could hear him.

"Hello all, this is Solan Charr, I apologize for today's events but it would seem rogue elements have blocked most communications and are currently trying to expand that influence cloud out to reach our craft that remain outside of the field. If you would kindly help me deal with that Rogue fleet, just as Aedan Miles there is doing with his forces, that would be most preferable. Sound good my former lady of the Sith." He meant the last part to be aimed at Taeli before turning his focus on Jorus with the open communication. "As for the pilot and occupants of the freighter that was unfortunately caught in the crossfire, please land on my flagship and meet me there. I believe I have to explain the actions of my current allegiances, and hope that we can come to an understanding."

With that he ended the communication and let his ship drift towards the hanger of his flagship, hoping that he had not miscalculated and the jamming was still affecting communications with [member="Taeli Raaf"].

"What the kark are we looking at?" Commordoe Boros muttered.

"I honestly have no idea," Taeli replied. A Sith fleet had appeared, or at least that is what she assumed it was. A pirate fleet had arrived, these rogue people were jamming everyone. Like... she had never seen something like this. No, scratch that, she had seen something like this before. Everything here reminded her of the clusterkark that was Atrisia. There was even some large Force anomaly building up on the world, dark side energies radiating off the place. Just... lovely. She had a sneaking feeling that the same perpetrator was here. It all seemed the same craziness.

"Transmission incoming from one of the fleets, ma'am."

"I already have a feeling I know who it is," she sighed. "Put it on."

"Hello all, this is Solan Charr, I apologize for today's events but it would seem rogue elements have blocked most communications and are currently trying to expand that influence cloud out to reach our craft that remain outside of the field. "I was right," she sighed again. "Leave it to Solan."

He was crazy to think she would actually leave her ship to go to his flagship. What commander does that in the middle of such a cluster?

"Solan, I cannot find the words to express my crushing disappointment with you right now," she responded. She wondered how long it had been since he had been read a riot act. "Working with people who would fire on a civilian freighter and who called on what look like Hutt ships for help. Your children would be ashamed of you."

Cutting the transmission for the moment, she muttered, "Have weapons crews beat to quarters, get ready for a fight." She received a nod in turn.

Objective: End the fiesta

Aedan Miles watched his ships pursuing their target before finally he stood and nodded towards his communications director who smirked and left the bridge making his way into a high security room where the team of communications specialists set to work breaking through the jamming to reach everyone. While they did this Aedan dispatched a single courier-class ship to leave the system with an escort of Devastator MK 2 fighters. As this group broke away from his force they immediately went to full speed the Devastator's splitting up to shield the courier that carried orders to a force that was a mere three hyperspace jumps away knowing that it would take this ship only one to reach it due to size the orders would arrive in mere minutes while it would take the rest of Blood Fleet longer to arrive when they arrived the fight would end one way or another. Once they reached the edge of the interdiction field the fighters and courier all took a moment to calculate the jump before with a flash the 13 ships vanished from the system.

Back on the Death's Embrace Aedan continued to watch as fire and missiles were fired back and forth between the various forces that had already engaged in aggression's finally the light on his gauntlet lit up indicating his communications team had finally broken through the jamming and his voice was being broadcast over an open channel to everyone in system. He started to finally speak his voice calm as his violet eyes gazed almost blandly out the view port and at the ships that appeared to be fighting. "This is Aedan Miles Admiral of the CIS and Pirate King to all forces in this system I give this warning once and only once. This is a meaningless fight and you will ALL stand down as I have called for the rest of my force to be sent I give you until they arrive to make your choice. To the allies of the CIS I will not attack you directly but I will strive to cease all hostilities even if that means I must place my fleet between you all but keep this in mind any attack on my forces shall be met with retaliation. I do not wish to fight but it appears that a person I know already is being attacked and is seeking refuge with a person I know. The only reason I am not wiping out everyone who is not allied to the CIS is because it appears there are questions that must be answered and I aim to see them answered. If you believe that my threat is false those of you who are allied to the CIS should have recently received information about a force that would be available to assist your systems within a moments notice that is MY fleet the Blood Fleet of the CIS. So I repeat all hostilities are to cease and if someone truly wishes to engage in combat then by all means to your ships towards my force I could use additions to my collection." Aedan turned away and moved to the command throne watching as Jorus's ship neared the fleet of Solan Charr and relative safety. As he took his seat an officer moved forward handing a data pad to Aedan that held a rough estimate of forces in system compared to his forces that were to arrive it wasn't even close. Shaking his head Aedan dismissed the man as a nod was given from his radar crew indicating the Courier was away and the orders would soon be delivered.

Shortly after Aedan's speech ended in a system near the Nibelungen system the courier and its escort left hyperspace before the true force that remained of the Blood Fleet turning away the Devastator MK 2's immediately jumped back into hyperspace the pilots eager to return to their comrades. The Courier turned its attention to the largest ship in this force a Tulak Hord-class Star Destroyer named Death's Agony moving to dock in its hangar a mid ranked officer hurried off of the ship and towards the bridge to deliver its orders to the Cragmaloid Admiral that served as Aedan Miles second in command. As the officer stepped onto the bridge he saluted the Admiral before speaking swiftly and holding out a data pad. "Sir I bring you orders from Pirate King Miles." The large being nodded its head before taking the datapad in its massive hand and opening the orders reading over them it turned back to the courier. "Thank you Captain you are dismissed." The captain saluted and left to go and check on his shuttle the admiral turned to the fore of the ship as his communications crew opened a link to all ships in the fleet. "This is Admiral Arlumek to all ships we have been ordered to our leaders side. All ships are to prepare for a two jump sequence that will bring us into a system where their is a high chance of combat taking place. All ships are to jump on my mark stand by." He turned and looked towards the midshipman that served as his communication's officer watching as he read off the list of ships that had sent in verification before turning and giving the Admiral a thumbs up indicating that all ships had checked in. Admiral Arlumek turned back and spoke a single word before watching the view turn into lines indicating hyperspace travel. "Mark"

Static filled the airwaves, but Solan's ship was very close and that transmission came through more clearly than most. Jorus sealed on his clear helmet.

"Adurak, you've got the bridge."

Five minutes' quick, chilly spacewalk put him outside Solan's bridge, knocking on the nearest airlock. When the hatch opened, he slipped inside and back into gravity. He nodded his thanks to the nearest crewers and came onto the bridge with his helmet under his arm.

"Nice ship, Solan." He eyed [member="The Matador"], a large armored man that he didn't find familiar. "If you can help cool this down, let's get it fixed. And speaking for the ten thousand bodies on my boat, thanks for the assist. We're still taking long-range fire but our shields are holding."

Location: Bridge of the Paladin
Allies: Sometimes, it's hard to know.
Enemies: Anyone different than us, because they can't be trusted. [member="Aedan Miles"], [member="Jorus Merrill"]

It was a small miracle that the assorted scanning systems of the Paladin had remained operational despite the apparent attempts at electronic warfare plaguing the battlefield. Of course, that didn't necessarily mean that the situation had grown astronomically easier from its previous status, but it was certainly nice to have something work the way that it was intended to as opposed to simply break down into a fit of electronic snaps and crackles. Abelain was entirely uncertain as to whether or not he should be thankful for the electronic system, however, when it began to showcase a multitude of shapes approaching their position.

There was nearly no logical jump to consider. The Gossamer had turned and headed towards a fleet of vessels, and somewhere near that particular haven had sprung forth an entirely new retinue of ships intent on defending their apparent ally. It was true that they didn't have the communications route necessary to properly distinguish between friend and foe, but perhaps that was its own advantage. After all, it could well be that those forces might have been identified previously as allies by the Ancient Eye, and were now revealing themselves instead to be nothing more than traitorous wretches, and because they had been cautious, they would not be caught by that ruse.

"Fighters inbound." Captain Fait spoke with apparent concern, stepping out from behind a bridge officer who had hurriedly whispered the news into his ear. The decorated officer was middling in age, and the faint whispers of grey had begun to seep into the sides of his hair. No doubt, it was scenarios like these that accelerated that change in coloration.

"Numbers?"

"Too many to fight with our own, sir." There was a distinct line wherein it became obvious that one's own fighters would be unable to fight with their own contingent of dogfighters, even when exact numbers had been ignored for the sake of brevity.

Another bridge officer hurriedly appeared, stating something quickly to the Captain before re-seating herself at one of the nearby consoles.
"We have contact with the Imperator and Osprey again." That was excellent news, considered the Arue'tii, though his eyes lingered for an instant at a nearby screen, observing as the small red blips grew steadily closer.

"Prepare all forward guns to fire. Wait until the enemy are close enough that we can actually hope to hit them." Orders to fire were always the simplest, considered the chitinous beast as he glanced back at the screen. They were at war, and the order to shoot at the enemy was easy to interpret without much room for error.

"Captain. The Rancor Frigates... they excel at fast maneuvers, do they not?"

"Yes sir, what they lack in size and direct offensive capability, they make up for in speed."

"Excellent. Order the Osprey and the Imperator to direct themselves at the Paladin, make physical contact, and put their engines to full."

Another concerned look passed over the face of the Captain, followed quickly by an equally confused look. "You want to use them to push the Paladin?"

"Naturally. They're far more maneuverable than our larger warship. Simply turn off any inertial dampeners we possess, and allow them to push us out of the Interdictor's range. After we're out, we can warp away."

"But... sir, the fighters?"

"Quite right. Inform our fighters to board the ship. I have no intention of needlessly sacrificing them."

"Without our fighters or our frigates shooting at the enemy, how are we meant to combat the fighters, sir?"

"The Paladin does have guns, Captain. It will not go easily to a band of fighters, no matter how numerous. Besides, we needn't beat them, just escape them."

The Matador stood silent, his morose nature hidden by a sculpted metal mask. [member="Taeli Raaf"]'s many ships appeared to be readying for combat, regardless of the pleading cry of [member="Solan Charr"]. It made sense, his home lay between two very large, and very powerful Governing bodies. Both of which happened to be at odds with a significantly smaller group. That being, the Ancient Eye.

He knew his own beliefs, of strife and struggle. Of the succession of the strong, but this world relied on something more than that. Allies, time, fleets. Not power. Not ones own personal prestige, regardless of whether how many men he killed or how many skulls he crushed of his enemies. There was still a amassing fleet just beyond them, and yet he felt it. The urge to crush the man had but moments ago stood not too far from his own hands.

"I will try."

The Matador left the presence of Solan and Jorus. allowing him to return to the Valkyrie.

Through the observation screen, he saw the battle continue. On and on, watching as lights flashed by rapidly; the Valkyrie floating below the shadowing mass of Solan's fleet. A transmission passed through, it was [member="Aedan Miles"].

"This is Aedan Miles Admiral of the CIS and Pirate King to all forces in this system I give this warning once and only once. The Matador activated the Valkyrie's communication system, using the ships on board systems to carry his message along with Aedan's, piggybacking on his broadcast to reach both Taeli and Aedan and his own. That being [member="Kyle Raymus"], [member="Kainan Wolfe"], [member="Mythos"], [member="Abelain Narv'uk"] and [member="Kiso"] respectively. He didn't want to be a negotiator, it went against his every instinct, but he needed to act.

"This is the War-Chieftain Matador, bravery is not stupidity. I am ordering all Ancient Eye forces to stand down. Solan Charr, you are free to leave the system. This is not your fight. Jorus, compensation will be necessary. Taeli Raaf, that was the name Solan mentioned. If you can hear me, I have ordered Ancient Eye forces to stand down. I believe a meet, is necessary. To discuss terms. Hostilities will not be continued by the Ancient Eye. You have your wish, Aedan Miles."

He'd done all he could.

The fact he wasn't so much as touched honestly surprised Solan after having spoke to Matador like such and that received a quick look at the armored man. Solan had honestly expected a hotter head to take command but surprisingly it looked like Solan would not have to deal with such an event today. It would not be long until a message hit his ear and he raised a brow even more so, sadly missing Jorus' first set of words and laughing a bit under his breath. Either he had realized that Solan was telling the truth, or that Aedan was simply crazy... probably a bit of both.

It made Solan relax and he smiled at Jorus now with wide and a tad more hopeful eyes, even if [member="Taeli Raaf"] continued to act disappointed. It would seem she was not so quick to forgive his presence here, as Jorus was... that or she misunderstood it. Either way his ships had not fired on the man and he was now standing here with [member="Jorus Merrill"] no more than a few feet away.

"I wouldn't worry about your taking fire, it would seem that both that Rogue Fleet, and my allies' own ships will be standing down. I do apologize for their quick and... hostile measures. I had not been there to mediate the original arrival of your ship and with the arrival of the other ships, along side the recent outbreak of terroristic actions taken by the former government. Lets just say that this day has not been a simple one for either side of the situation. It would appear though that my words struck my large friend, seeing as I assume you also heard his announcement?" His hand came up to tap the earpiece he had on, the way in which he had heard [member="The Matador"]'s communication.

He would pause for a moment, thinking about what he heard from Taeli Raaf earlier.

"Oh, and do you mind sending some kind of message to Raaf, she seems to assume the worst in people. Quite an unsightly event as to see a beautiful woman causing death, no?" With that Solan smiled a bit wider, he was after all the same man that Jorus would likely remember. A joking, happy man, who always found himself caught up in some conflict, and looking for the quickest way out of it. Something did seem distant about Solan's eyes though, as he looked out from the bridge of his ship.

"Once that is done, we can hopefully get everyone around a table for drinks, though, preferably not that group." He stared at a certain set of ships that was being displayed on the viewport for him, a grouping of ships that he would prefer be reduced to nothing but space trash. After all, Hutts were nothing but slime.

[member="Solan Charr"]

"Really? You find [member="Taeli Raaf"] attractive?" Jorus scratched his neck. "I mean, I guess I could see it if she got some sun once in a while. That girl's whiter than a Confederate flag. She's got the whole eldritch waif thing going on, and that just doesn't do it for me."

He fished a comlink out of his utility belt and mated it to the ship's powerful transceiver.

"Master Raaf, this is Jorus Merrill. The situation's been resolved. My ship's safe, Solan Charr's called for a ceasefire, and we all owe him one. I'll leave it to you to chat with him about next steps. Might want to check in with the Resistance, too. They got pincered Tamatoa style."

"Master Raaf... message for you from Charr again," the commodore stated, handing her the message. Her eyes narrowed as she read it. The nerve of that man sometimes. "And Captain Merrill is reporting the situation is apparently resolved. Your orders?"

She looked back towards the distant planet, and the gathering dark side energies there. Some elements of the fleet still had interdiction going too.

"Stay on alert," she said. "Keep our present position. If you see anyone moving to engage us, you have free reign, Commodore. I... I apparently need to go remind an old friend exactly how irritating I can find him."

"Shall I prepare a shuttle for you, then ma'am?"

"No need," she said, sitting down cross-legged on the bridge's floor. "Right here is fine for me."

Reaching into the Force, she allowed herself to slip into the White Current, the name for the Fallanassi school of thought on the Force. Locating the pinpoints within the currents of the Force that were Solan, Jorus, and someone she didn't know, she sent a degree of her power along the current to their location. On the bridge of Solan's ship, an image of Taeli would slowly appear, a sustained illusion but for all intents and purposes it was her. And her illusions was arriving just as Jorus made his comments about her. The expression on her face... well Solan would know it all too well. Complete and utter irritation with the King of Kesh, but then what else was new?

"He says that about every woman he meets, Captain Merrill," she said, hands on her hips. "And he should know better by this point. You would think several years of reminders would reinforce that point. Solan, you look like hell."
