A Princess and a Peasant

Nauren rolled his neck and sigh as he walked the streets of naboo, eyes running over the alleys as he continously watched for the hidden evils that were always there. It didn't matter if you were in a utopia, there was always those being taken advantage of and soon he found his very example in the poorer part of Theed.

A Debt collector was pushing a man against a wall, his son under the collector's foot and in the man's free hand a pistol aimed at the boy. How he hated people like this, they always thought because they were bigger and stronger, they had a right to do as they wished and now this father's son was in danger because of the man's greed...

Walking down the alley, against the flow of the crowd that ignored this, he made his presence know by tapping the wall and speaking. "You know, i suggest you let them go, or else." The man turned to see a thin boy, wrapped in a cloak, and looking directly at him and threatening him. And all he did was laugh before removing his foot from the boy and sending a knee into the father who fell over to his knees.

Slowly he walked towards Glyph, eyes boring into him as he spoke. "And why, is a boy threatening me..."

Felicity was... bored. And when a 'Princess' was bored, the princess did whatever she wanted, much to her mothers dismay. So, when class was over, and it was time to be picked up at the Academy by her body guards, Felicity slipped away.
Now she walked the streets. Maybe she'd go shopping today, avoid the security looking for her, and just generally have an adventure. She was sure most people would recognize her. That was what happened when your mother was the elected ruler of an entire planet. One hand in the pocket of her school uniform blazer, she slung her school bag over her shoulder. It was a nice day. If she had to escape for a few hours and rebel, this was certainly the day to do it...

"You know, i suggest you let them go, or else."

Felicity turned her head, looking down an alley. Something was... happening? Something... fun.

"Hey! Just who do you think you are? Picking on the weak!"

Felicity pushed her way past, rolling up the sleeves of her blazer, ignoring the fact that fighting in a skirt was a pain.

"You're going to step off right now, and back away. Or else you'll have me to deal with!"

Glyph blinked as he heard someone else approach, someone else with a heart of gold appearently... and his age... this was getting weird. None the less the guy was tired of the two of them and fired twice. In a moment Glyph's saber was in hand and instead of blocking the shot sent at him, which grazed his shoulder he shot to stand infront of Felicity and blocked the shot aimed at her, not caring if she could protect herself. "What the kark are you doing... ugh... i think he hit me." Looking at his left shoulder, a hole would be seared into his flesh, the pain apparent on his face. "Oh this is great..." All the while, the man stood and looked at the saber, frozen for a second but quickly seeing a chance to use Glyph's caring about others more than himself against him. Moving with a quick step he aimed the pistol at the boy's head, who now crouched beside his unconscious father. "move and he dies..."

Oh great. A blaster. Coward. Felicity hissed in frustration, irritated at needing some stranger to protect her. She took a step to rush him, fist at the ready.
...But the boy made her stop immediately.

"...I can't stand cowards," she grumbled, "How about this instead?"

She set her bag down, opened it up and slowly pulled out her wallet, being extra careful to show every object in her bag so it was clear she had no weapons. In her wallet, she pulled out her credit card. Courtesy of mom and dad.

"Whatever their debt? I'll pay it for them. Hell, I'll double it if ya let them go immediately. I'll even make the Jedi put his glow-stick away. Sound good?"

She casually waved the card, smiling. If this guy wasn't a complete fool, he'd recognize her school uniform immediately. The Royal Naboo Academy. Only the wealthiest and most influential families had access to an education there. And here was one of those rare students waving a credit card around.

"Or i could kill the Jedi, and hold you for ransom, im sure you would take that deal no?" The man grinned and waited for someone to make a mistake, Glyph's eyes still on the blaster, but not for the reason that he was worried it would go off. No slowly he was putting the pressure on the barrel from all directions, crushing the barrel slowly and silently, just hoping this moron behind him would not do anything... the Jedi comment from both of them annoyed Glyph though. "Im not a Jedi by the way, thank you."

"Oh? So you don't want my credits. Well, if that's how you feel..."
She opened her wallet again, putting the card away. Slowly.

"I mean, you could try to hold me ransom, but... I don't think that palace guard right behind you would be super happy about that."

She pointed right over his shoulder, waiting for him to turn his head to look. This was how daddy taught her. Use every single advantage. The fact that she was a cute girl made her seem like a pushover. Well... That was a mistake.

She moved in, quick as a flash. By the time the confused thug had figured out that there were no palace guards actually by him at all, Felicity was right in front of him, arm reared back to aim a heavy punch at his face.
Yes. Nobody expected that from a little Princess.

Funny part about people like that, they really didn't believe that a little girl actually had a palace guard with her if she showed up alone in the first place, but luckily Glyph could simply react now thanks to her movements, cursing though as she had done that. Without even second thinking his action he pushed on the muzzle from all sides and crushed it, the gun going off and exploding in his hand as he screamed out in pain. Next came the punch from Felicity, which he really didn't like. Taking a knife from his side he went to cut at her, only until his hand suddenly vanished with a pass of a blade, his arm gone below the elbow and then his body being launched into the wall before falling unconscious. Glyph had simply appeared suddenly, his breathing heavy as the display of the force already was straining him as he looked at Felicity. "You... are a moron..." He started to fall as he himself had over exerted himself, the wound in his shoulder causing blood loss as well.

Victory was... not hers. The stupid Jedi stole this from her. He really wanted to look super cool in front of the kid, didn't he? She dusted her skirt off, grumbling.
"Oh great," she groaned, "He got blood on my uniform. Mom's gunna kill me..."

"You... are a moron..."

Felicity straightened up at once, glaring at the Jedi (he had to be a jedi. He had a glow stick!). She opened her mouth to shour something mean back at him, but closed it again quickly as he started falling over. She rushed to his side, moving to support him. She then held her wrist comm to her face.

"Hey, Percy?"
"Felicity!? My Lady! We've been looking everywhere for you. Her Majesty is really worrie-"
"Yeah, yeah. Sorry sorry. I took a detour home, but now I need a lift. Can you bring a transport? And the local police? ...And a medic?"
"Medic!? Lady Felicity, are you hurt?"
"No... but I have a few people here who are."
"...You were fighting again-"
"Just do it, Perc. This Jedi's heavy."

A few moments later, the crew arrived.

Glyph didn't wake up, his body limp as Felicity would wait there for the medics. The most immediate concern was the man that had threatened him, his wounds the worst and soon he was off and away to the hospital, surrounded by guards. The man and his child thanked Felicity as they were treated, thanking her for saving them and stopping the man from killing his son, not realizing anything past her standing there being the only one who was unharmed. Glyph was in a deep state of unconscious, perfectly fine after his wound in his shoulder was patched up, to which the Medics looked at Felicity and asked her something. "The man is fine and just needs rest, do you know where he lives? If not we can bring him to the hospital or elsewhere miss, we just need someone to watch him and make sure he doesn't wake up and try to move too much."

Felicity narrowed her eyes at the unconscious Space Wizard. Hospital... What would mom do?

"Nah. Bring him to the palace," she shrugged, "We'll stick him in a guest room until he's recovered."

And with that, her orders were followed. The space wizard was given a spot in the Palace, with a doctor to look after him. And Felicity waited in the room, arms crossed in front of her chest. She was going to have words with him.

Glyph groaned several hours later, his eyes clouded as he tried to figure out what had just happened. Lets see, there was a gun... pain.. some stupid girl... ugh. "If i ever see that girl again, i need to tell her what a moron she is..." He said this, not noticing he was in her home, with her right there, and she was the princess.

Felicity was reading, book up to her nose. The history of Theed, volume two. A thick book. Heavy. Leather cover.

"If i ever see that girl again, i need to tell her what a moron she is..."

Felicity's face went red. Not with embarrassment. With rage. Silently, she stood up, crossed over to where the space wizard was resting. Then she reached over and dropped her book down right on his face.

"Oops! Silly me!" she sneered, "I'm such a moron."

Glyph blinked as he saw her and then the book coming down with just enough time to turn his face so nothing was broken. Groaning though as the book hit him he heard her words and looked up at her. "Hello miss, mind not maiming me further, i already feel like i was hit by a truck." He smiled, no resentment, no hate, just a happy smile came to his face. He knew why she had done that and had no reason to react in an angry way.

She stood beside the bed, glaring down her nose at him.

"Well, you should hurt. You got in my way, dummy. I had it all perfectly under control."

She sighed, snatching a chair and pulling it up beside the bed.

"So? Who are you?"

[member="Felicity Mason"]

If i hadn't moved infront of you, you would be dead... And besides, you are the one that could have gotten that boy killed if i hadn't handled the pistol..." He smiled as he spoke and tried to sit up, his eyes staying on the princess. "Who are you first... and where am i?"

"No, no! I asked first! You can't turn this around on me."

The Princess crossed her arms, stubbornly glaring down at the space wizard.

"My Lady," a maid looked in, bowing, "Your mother has asked for you. Shall I tell her you are with a guest?"

"Yeah, you probably should. Wouldn't wanna bug the Queen..."

He laughed and looked at the maid and put two and two together, though not a single thing changed about his demeanor or how he spoke with her. "So, im in the presence of a princess, a very interesting one at that. What kind of princess is so tough if i might ask? That was a good hit back there, moronic or not. Also, i would assume im in Theed Palace... did i pass out again from using the force?"

The girl raised a thin blind eyebrow at the boy.

"No, dummy. Not a Princess. Princesses are elected. This is Naboo, you know. Just because mom's the Queen doesn't mean anything. Just means people are a bit nicer to me."

She smiled now, leaning back in her chair. Even if she wasn't actually a princess technically, enough people called her 'Princess' that she might as well just accept it.

"Still... if you want to call me Princess, I guess I won't complain too much. And yeah. Palace. You passed out. One question at a time, kay?"

[member="Glyph"]

[member="Felicity Mason"]

"Was that your question or is it my turn again, obviously this does not count either." He looks at the woman hearing the first set of words and smiling wider as he looked at her. "Im sorry, but im always like this, im not going to be nicer to you because you are some fancy princess or not. You are still a moron for what you did and someone should teach you to stick out of a problem if you can't defend yourself."

He breathed in and sighed, the pain in his shoulder still there. "My name is Nauren, call me glyph... and thank you miss for watching over me, im grateful."

The girl shook her pretty blond head. This guy was annoying. Not listening.

"First you insult me, then you thank me? What is wrong with you?"

She stood up, ready to leave. She didn't have to stick around for someone calling her stupid for trying to help. She'd done her job. Brought him to the palace to recover. Mom couldn't complain now. She'd done enough for him.
