As rare and short-lived as it was, the Dyad made it impossible not to feel that brief moment of frustration. It didn't bother her too much, but she didn't want to create the wrong idea either. So she got up to her feet, walked around the table and sat down in his lap, with her arms settling around his neck.

"I won't think like that anymore, I promise." She leaned in to kiss his cheek and let out a softer sigh that showed the relief she felt. "It all comes from a place of love and affection. I'll always be protective of you, but...like I said, you're an amazing Jedi and I know you'll make it back home." Another kiss followed, but this one was gently placed on his lips.

Then, a smirk.

"Maybe it's time I show you just how much I love you, hm?" She asked with a playful tone, while her hands shifted along his chest. "Or aren't you done with your pancakes yet?" She teased.

"Oh I know you're protective. Just don't think it's silly, is all I ask."

He smiled, just a little, as he returned the kiss. Smirked in turn as he casually waved a hand and sent the dirty dishes to the sink. Pancakes could wait now. He stood up, lifting Valery up just enough to set her on the table.

"I think I'm ready for dessert, yeah."

"Alright, I won't call it silly again." She chuckled lovingly and let a hand brush against his cheek. She was plenty silly with a lot of things, but being caring and worried about the safety of her family definitely wasn't silly. He was right about it, and she knew he felt the same exact way himself.

They would always have this protectiveness about each other.

Valery then grinned much wider when he casually picked her up, and looked at him with a twinkle in her eyes when he set her down on the table. "Here, hm? Alright... I am ready." She closed her eyesz pulled him close and drew him into a longer, more passionate kiss.
