A Question About Lightsabers...

So my question that I've always wondered, but never known who to ask is if lightsaber blades would leave a shadow. I know that they aren't actually light and are more like a plasma sort of substance, but I've never known whether or not they leave shadows. Anyone know?

Plasma emits light. Its the same question of, does a lit lightbulb cast a shadow?

As they said, because of the light emitted they wouldn't leave a shadow, but they would cause other objects to cast a shadow.

It is a mixture of two well known physics related phenomena:

1. CGI
2. Continuity error

I want my CGI shadows though . Trust me, they spent the money for Anakin, they can spend some on shadows.
