Keep in mind the way it was before apparently supported a key point in pvp roleplaying . Compromise, without compromise there would be no successful duels because there would be constant bickering of how someone wins. In order to eliminate this, compromise was put in place, for instance if you want to break my characters arm, then I should give you a concussion. Without a fair system, someone would be pissed off about how the story direction went. If a fair system was in place, like the old rule that supported this key element, then everyone walks away with a good story free of power gamming and such. While I am not in charge of anything I strongly urge you respectfully to talk to other administrators. Think about it, if one wants a light saber resistant material, you have to compromise on a defeat, if you don't, it shows you are not mature enough to role play with this material, by taking the defeat.
While the other way helps reward success, it makes it harder to get the material because not many would like to have a embarrassing defeat with very little things benefiting them. Compromise allows both sides to get something they want out of it, what exactly would the mando get from losing? Very little to nothing im afraid. If there are some things the mando would get under this rule could someone show me? The point being, for many who want to have a huge victory, like the others get from similar objectives , you are excluding this from the mando's. While yes IC wise it sounds great, but OCC wise it destroys the point of compromising, and it limits those huge victories to us, others for instance like phrike get victories such as this, why are we excluded?
I am debating logically, I am by no means trying to argue for arguing sake. I just believe that I should bring this issue up for clarification, and fairness, because while life is not fair, this is a game that should be enjoyed for all, which it is enjoyable. I am glad I found this site, it balances a lot of things out, for good role play. Even if this ruling stays the same I will still enjoy it, I just would like to see if this is the direction we want to go.
