A 'swim' through Corellia

"You are interfering with the peaceful negotiation between the Resu people and Sith Empire, you're continued unwanted and uninvited presence is clearly a plot by the Republic to drive a wedge between our peoples. Leave now or I shall have you arrested for trespassing and disturbing the peace." Daxton almost smiled as he said it. Corellia was in Syndicate Space, outside the jurisdiction of the Republic, and he had many friends here, especially among the armed forces and police. In fact, they were fully aware of the diplomatic talks taking place and were keen for it to be successful since it would mean more trade for them. Daxton couldn't have asked for a more bungling Republic agent that this self righteous idiot. Once he was arrested, it would be a small thing to have him suffer an unexpected accident while in custody.

Turning to the Resu leader with a look of concern on his face. "As you can see your Grace it is clear, that they are agitating for a war. You heard it for yourself, that mad man will would declare war in the name of man dead and buried more than a thousand years ago. I ask you, your Grace is that the kind of government you wish to associate your people, your entire race with? The Republic is tainted with madness like a disease. I urge you to reconsider any dealings you may have with them."

Seth stood there and sighed saying "I am not invited which is true, I hope the Resu chose the side they think is worthy of their friendship but know this The Empire started this fight the dark side is strong but it can be beaten by the light of mere men and women I fought against this same evil during the clone wars perfect warriors killed by such evil and bravery of jedi and soldiers alike fought for the freedom of all that is what I believe in your grace... what do you believe?...... I guess I'll go now not in the mood to be shot to pieces today." With that he left for his ship and left the planet leaving only his words.

"See your Grace. They are nothing more than cowards and mad men. They claim we started the fight, when it is not true. They come where they are not wanted. They scurry like pests, spewing their poisonous lies and insane ravings. Perfect warriors? What a bunch of wookie poobah. If they were perfect, then they would be undefeated would they not? If he was the last, then they were defective. Defective and mad like that man was, talking about starting a war in the name of a man dead and buried so long ago. That is the true nature of the Republic and the Jedi. You saw it for yourself. Nothing more than liars and spineless cowards."

The ambassador contemplated the brief exchange, noting its oddity. He did not know what the soldier meant by freedom. What freedom did the Republic have to offer the Resu more than they had already? What more did an individual need other than to swim (or to walk in their case), and think? What else was there too free? Also worryingly, if they were so afraid of not having the freedom they claim to believe in, who was restricting it, and why? Could this Daxton be telling the truth, and that the corrupt government of the Republic is the cause of misery and pain? The usurpers of a once perfect government, toppling it down to cause the emplacement of their tyrannical views upon others? If this was the case, then why did the soldier believe he was free in ways more so than what a Resu considered freedom?

There was also the Empires worry about the Republic itchy for war. This confused him, but he tried his best to understand. "Republic... requires... reason to declare war? War requires declaration? Resu understanding limited, ignoring statement. Republic relations elaborated, appreciative. Silver Sentinel curiosity leads to Resu involvement to Imperial-Republic vendetta. Resu scientists talented, plus Resu Generals expert strategists."

"The Republic sees our worlds with covetous eyes and knows that by themselves they stand no hope of defeating our forces. You saw for yourself how the Republic Soldier cowered in fear at a mere diplomat as myself. The Republic cowers in fear and lives in shadow. It is their nature. However, the Sith have no desire to drag you or your people into a war they have declared on us. The Sith are a peaceful people but we will defend our homes and property should they try to take it away. This is why we wish to trade only in economic goods and defensive weapons systems. We offer trade and protection with the hand of friendship."

"Disappointing." Essentially what the Sith had done was mention a party to the Resu and then directly to him explained how he was not invited. Regardless, he decided it was simply the nature of the aliens, most likely used to races too weak to feed themselves. Sentinel was confident however, that he could prove to one of the Titan nations that the Resu were no weaklings, though the time for this was not now, he reminded himself. After all, from what he could tell Realm Resu was on the other side of the galaxy from either the Republic or the Empire.

"Regardless, proposal sufficient. Trade transactions completed, Resu mining research resources imported to Imperial space in exchange for Defensive Platforms. Additional propositions? Meeting adjourned truth, lie?" The meeting went well, despite the Republic witness, however, if he swam carefully he could collect both of the Empire's defensive systems, along with Republic ships. It was a most sucessful trip to Corellia indeed. Though he knew he would need to take a bite out of one fish or the other some time, but for now his diplomacy proved effective.

"I am sorry to disappoint, your Grace. But perhaps in time, when our peoples have gotten to know one another we could benefit well from this endeavor." This was an important to the Sith and to Daxton personally. Establishing the Sith as the victims of a Republic conspiracy has always been close to his heart. "Until we next meet your grace. May your travels be swift and troubles light. Embrace the Dark Side." Bowing low and politely, Daxton excused himself to attend to making sure the gains their made were finalized.
