She stirred as she felt the sudden coldness enter under the protective furs. In the back of her mind she recognised movement near her but slumber kept her captive and Aerin rolled over. Although no longer in the depths of sleep she rested not wishing to open her eyes to the light of day. A smile crept across her face and some of the events of the night where recalled and how wonderful it was to have Aurelio so close to her. Although her red bloodied nature had wanted him and she had sensed the returned desires from him, she is impressed that he had controlled the situation.
Eventually the coming day beckoned her to wake and Aerin’s eyes opened to the warm morning light. She raised her arms above her head and stretched her body long to rid it of lingering slumber. Even though she knew Aurelio had left the bedding, she missed his presence and looked for him. Finding him dressed and perched on a log she smiled. “Good morrow Baron”, she said softly with a weary voice. She sat up and wrapped her arms around her bent legs, considering him for a while. Oh he did not look happy.
She took in a deep breath and stood up, her white night gown fell back around her legs, “I suspect you are hungry”, she said picking up the top fur to wrap around her body. She attempted a smile to try and raise his humour, but only good food and warmth will work. Aerin found her own clothes but before she left to dress, she issued a high piercing whistle. Her force senses tell her that their horses are not far and would hear her summon. She left for thicker forest to change.
By the time she returned, the horses had returned. She wasted no time preparing them for departure, reining, saddling and loading the pack horse. Once she had extinguished what was left of the fire, she mounted Blackwing. “I promise to make it up to you Aurelio”, and she would that eve.
The travelling party soon crossed the stone arched bridge and had come to the outshirts of the town only twenty minutes from their campsite. As they entered the township, Aurelio would see up head the grand Inn, one of the finest Midvinter has to offer. Aerin would not turn to him now, knowing his temper would be questioning her reason. She had hoped to offer Aurelio a night he would never forget, but maybe it had turned out for all the wrong reasons.
“Let us breakfast here”, she indicated to the Inn. She would allow this time for Aurelio but soon they would have to push on. Much is dangerous within the regions of Midvinter, not only the animals, or the weather, but they will be travelling within the borders of a Clan that are not welcoming to strangers.
