- Gold Sector, or A-Town as its refereed to by the city folk and locals, when compared to other parts of Coronet, was relatively poor. This was mostly due to the lack of opportunity in the sub-city with most of the populace working in smaller factories and few large companies making their home in the sector. The few succesful businesses and companies that did make their home in Gold Sector were Atrisian owned and run family dynasties who were able to take advantage of the post-Gulag economic boom and the post-Cataclysm revitalization. The areas of A-Town that these companies reside were for the wealthiest of the wealthy, with that money paling in comparison to other well of districts of Corellia bringing the overall wealth of the area up but ultimately remaining seen as a "poor" neighborhood.
[*]Stability: Medium,
- Despite it being one of the poorer sectors of Coronet, A-Town was safer than other similar districts due to its tight knit communities, Atrisian pride, and the various organized crime families that made their home in the sub-city. That being said, the presence of crime organizations made the streets unsafe after dark when the bars and clubs became the home of groups like the Yōkai. Swoop gangs patrolled the skylanes looking for their next victims and young street thugs committed crimes hoping to be noticed by one of the larger gangs.
[*]Freedom & Oppression: The sector was offered the same freedoms as anyone else in Coronet. Only societal issues and local politics kept the people downtrodden.
[*]Description: A-Town, officially called Gold Sector, was a majority Atrisian sub-city sector of the nearly continent spanning city of Coronet on the planet Corellia. Established thousands of years ago it was once a shining titan of business. Much of its architecture borrows directly from the locals' Atrisian roots despite the area being built by Corellians. It retained a certain amount of charm during the day with several large Atrisian garden parks dotted throughout the sector and tea houses offering Atrisian hospitality. Exotic Atrisian foods and gadgets were everywhere with the aliens and non-Atrisian humans often throwing their own spin on the traditional dishes. While poor, A-Town was quaint and inviting to tourists and the Atrisian pride in the area fostered several tight knit communities that kept the locals relatively safe. Behind the smiles however was a sinister secret. Several Atrisian criminal groups fought for territory in the Golden Sector, with one of the largest being the Yōkai. It was unofficially split into three districts which were also the unoficcial boarders of the three most powerful crime lords in A-Town, with each of the crime lords given the title Sannin.
POINTS OF INTEREST
- Xiaomi Tower: A group of office buildings with a nice view of Coronet City at the top. Its main attraction was the large pagoda in the center with a small Atrisian garden. It was surrounded by small shops and the Xiaomi Tea House. It was frequented during the day and popular for the very cheap lunch specials that local businesses offered.
- Roto-Ramen: A small, local Ramen shop that was run by two aliens. It was a local favorite and had two other branches in A-Town run by the Master's apprentices. The Master was close friends with the Gold Sector representative, Kaito Kiyoshi. Secretly, the Master also worked Roto-Ramen and its satellites as dead drop locations for the Yōkai.
- Ozai: One of the largest clubs in A-Town. Its owner was one of Yōkai's Ronin but it was owned by the Maou, leader of the local Yōkai. It was a high end club with exotic dancers, frequent Galactic level musical talent, and V.I.P.s from across the galaxy club scene. Due to its penchant for violence it had its own armed guards and a no weapons policy.
CorSec patrolled Gold Sector more than other similarly poor and dangerous sectors of Coronet, mostly due to its reputation of being a certain kind of dangerous. You were more likely to be drugged at a bar with all your credits stolen than drugged and waking up with your organs missing. While petty crime was a problem during the late hours, CorSec generally placed Atrisian gangs as low on the priority list due to their more well known crimes being difficult to track and more related to real estate, gambling, and racketeering than human trafficking, drug traffic, and outright murder like other groups (though they did deal in these industries). Security and order was really kept by the various Atrisian crime organizations keeping the smaller swoop gangs and delinquents in line through fear.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Gold Sector has been a sector of Coronet for thousands of years. However during the Gulag plague it was hit extremely hard and its Atrisian population was nearly wiped out. During the post-Gulag economic boom however several Atrisian companies moved to Corellia, specifically Gold Sector and aided in revitalizing the sector. A-Town was able to eek its way out of obscurity in the Post-Gulag era due to this boom and manged itself well. While uncertain, it is believed that the companies that moved to Corellia at this time were mostly if not fully owned by Criminal organizations that split from the home branches on Atrisia or were exiled as it was also during this time that saw a huge spike in organized crime.
After the Cataclysm, most of A-Town needed to be rebuilt, like most of Coronet. For a time it benefited from the revitalization project as local government, community leaders, and the recently appointed Sector Governer were able to jockey for favors and credits to quickly rebuild and bring business back to A-Town. The pressure from Sector Governor Kaito Kiyoshi brought him the goodwill of even the Crime Lords, however its communities' reluctance to change their ways after A-Town was rebuilt led to a down turn almost as suddenly as their rise to prominence, leading A-Town to become one of the poorer sectors of Coronet. In this environment several upstart criminal factions sprung up, including the Yōkai who gained a tight hold throughout A-Town, quickly establishing itself as one of the largest groups in the sector. CorSec was unwilling to push resources towards taking these groups down however as more pressing groups like the Belters, Sons of Corellia, and violent swoop gangs and drug runners were causing trouble in richer sectors of the city. In this time of growth, Corellia had other fires to put out, leaving A-Town and much of Coronet to the mercy of crime organizations.
