"Your right droids would be an an acceptable use of electric judgment but the room for corruption with this power is still there" she said. Sitting there after lukan grabbed a piece of cheesy garlic bread Amanda grabbed the last piece of garlic bread and began eating it. As she watched lukan eat the remainder of his food "yes today I know you have experience with gangs but I want you to stay close to me while we are down there" she said nicely while sitting there.

As she stood up when he finished his food Amanda used the force to collect their dishes levitating their plates to stack together before putting them into her hand. "More than likely a Hutt clan or pike syndicate they had a beef for a while but after the sith attacked corusant and let a bunch of their creatures down there a few years ago I'm not sure" she said. Walking towards the cafeteria and handing their dishes back and then she smiled at lukan.

As she walked up to be with lukan she looked at him. The young master knew this would be dangerous and more than likely not wise to take a young padawan and especially one who didn't want to be here initially down to the lower levels but she knew she could keep an eye on him. So to speak "we'll have to take my ship it's the quickest way down" she said walking with him towards the jedi temple docks.

"Your right droids would be an an acceptable use of electric judgment but the room for corruption with this power is still there. Yes today; I know you have experience with gangs but I want you to stay close to me while we are down there".

Lukan couldn't help but roll his eyes as they started towards the kitchen and returned their dishes before making their way out of the Cafetaria. He didn't get the whole 'corruption' side of things. It sounded like the same old lectures that his adoptive parents gave him about being a 'good person'. People made good and bad choices in life, but there was no 'be all, end all' to it as far as he was concerned. You make a bad choice, and you carry on living.

Then there was the whole hand-holding thing. He didn't need a chauffeur or a baby sitter. Hell, he'd probably seen and done more than most of his class mates had before coming to the Jedi Temple, yet he didn't argue with Amanda braska nor did he comment in any way that would give her cause to continue to lecture him. It'd only end in her potentially losing confidence in him and they both wind up arguing. He couldn't be bothered with that, especially with the prospect of going down to the lower levels just minutes away.

"The Hutts and the Syndicate still have influence even on Coruscant?" Lukan asked, more curious about the current political situation in the criminal life on the core world. Coruscant was the heart of the Galaxy and in his mind had the largest and most powerful military power out of all the vast regions of known space. It was weird how the Hutts, those who controlled Nar Shaddaa could do so well here of all places.

Then again, it was the lower levels and those with credits never cared about those without.

She got the feeling treating him like a child in need of protection wouldn't work with lukan and he didn't seem to understand the corruption that she spoke of. As they walked out if the cafeteria towards her ship "I think our first lesson should be on force philosophy I know it sounds dull it was for me aswell but if you are gonna stay your gonna need to know it" she said. As they walked "I'll make it painless and interesting or atleast try to" she promised looking at him as they walked.

She heard his question "I believe it's a couple isolated Hutts with their own powerbase who mainly have dealings with the syndicate but both have a mild presence down below". She said as they approached the hanger she made her way towards an older yt 1300 it didn't look like much but it was well built and maintained. With a dull white paneling "the galactic alliance is busy with fighting the maw, and the empire and the criminal elements don't cause to much trouble even in the lower levels so the alliance doesn't kick them off world" she said.

As they approached her ship she opened the loading ramp and walked inside it the inside looked gun metal Grey the ramp leading up to the cargo bay which held a landspeeder. And a workbench with a couple of blaster sitting on it a blaster pistol was half apart on the workbench she picked up a working blaster pistol and handed it to him. "I was wrong to try to hand hold you" she said honestly "you can obviously look after yourself but I'm not offering you a fully functional lightsaber yet you'll be more of a danger to yourself than others right now" she said seriously. As she then walked towards the cockpit to get the Starship started and going to the lower levels of corusant. "If you have questions feel free to ask we will have a few minutes" she said as the ship exited the temples hangar.

"I think our first lesson should be on force philosophy I know it sounds dull it was for me aswell but if you are gonna stay your gonna need to know it"

How exciting. More of the mind-numbing talk that came from his tutors. Caedyn Arenais came to mind, the guy liked the sound of his own voice far too much for Luke's liking. What was worse was that the Jedi Knight targeted students like Lukan, those trying to avoid contributing to the lesson. It hadn't taken long for Lukan to decide that he didn't much like Master Arenais' classes at all.

"I believe it's a couple isolated Hutts with their own powerbase who mainly have dealings with the syndicate but both have a mild presence down below"

"Ah, right. That's cool" Lukan replied nonchalantly as they both walked towards the Temple Hangar. It didn't matter how many Jedi there were in the Galaxy, criminals were everywhere and there would be no getting rid of them. People on Nar Shaddaa had simply learned to live with them, and Lukan, alongside them. "With the Jedi fighting people away from Coruscant, it doesn't surprise me. Gangs are probably trying to make the most of it while the Jedi are distracted" Luke remarked, speaking his thoughts openly.

Come to think of it, with the Jedi so distracted, he wondered if there weren't opportunities for himself to profit a little from his newfound position within the Temple. Surely being a Jedi came with perks of some kind, right?

"Are the Jedi looked at the same way CORSEC is?" Lukan soon asked, wondering if they would be identified in a similar light as most security forces and law enforcement officers. If that was the case, then it'd make it a little more difficult to get to know any of the younger Gang Members like he had back home. Likely a shoot on sight meeting, if he got close enough. The flipside of that coin however was that, in his mind, Corsec might potentially allow him to get away with more than the common folk if he were to flash them his Jedi identification.

"What kind of authority do the Jedi possess in the lower levels?" he asked further, curious to know more.

Amanda could see and sense how fond he was of force philosophy "I know it sounds dull and trust me I hated it aswell but if you want to be a jedi shadow and continue being here you'll have to learn it" she said sitting at the controls of her ship. "How can I make it fun for you lukan to learn this stuff help me to help you" she asked looking at him then back to her ships controls it wasn't wise to take your eyes off sensors and the view port over corusanti skies.

He had observational skills beyond his age maybe that was because he was raised on nar shadda. "Your right that's exactly what they are doing the galactic alliance and jedi still try to keep some semblance of control down there but with over a thousand layers it's hard to police them with fighting wars on multiple sides". She said they uproached the entrance to the lower levels as their ship began to descend she turned to Lukan.

"Some gangs are hesitant around us others don't mind jedi very few are aggressive against jedi openly. For fear of what jedi can do so don't be surprised if some are hesitant to talk to someone wearing jedi robes" she said. As she moved to her sensors again they had a few minutes before they got to the level Amanda wanted to be at "they don't have any authority anywhere on corusant but people trust a jedi to hold the peace and a jedis judgment is often accepted by law enforcement but if a jedi is flaunting or outright misusing people's trust they are reported to the temple even down here" she said as a warning to lukan.

"Right, so what you're telling me is that CorSec won't look the other way" He put it plainly, not beating around the bush with her more subtle choice of words. He had read straight through it. It wasn't entirely surprising but he had to at least try his luck.

"And yeah, I'm not surprised they don't much like the Jedi. It's like seeing a cop and instantly feeling like you're going to get caught for something" he continued, watching as Amanda braska piloted her ship down into the lower levels. There were numerous buttons, levers and toggles to the dash of her cockpit, struggling to make sense of it all. "I'm used to people not liking me" he added nonchalantly, as though it didn't phase him at all.

"Where'd you get this ship anyway. When do I get one?" he asked. His patience with trying to be careful about wording himself was running low, and given that she too seemed to see right through him, he figured there wasn't much point in trying to hide it so much. "Do all Jedi get their own starship?" he added curiously, assuming that every Jedi in the Temple had some kind of personal landing zone or something. Because y'know, they were made of credits right?

"No they won't nor should they" she said plainly to Lukan Rath She didn't know him well enough to know why he asked that. But figured it was either getting the lay of the land or him trying to test boundaries. She wasn't sure and didn't want to make assumptions at this time.

"People do treat you differently when you where the robes and have a lightsaber on your hip but you either get used to it or dress like every one else and blend in" she said. Sensing him standing there what he said next really bothered her he was used to People not liking him. Amanda turned around and looked at him. "Lukan I want you to know I'm in your corner ok I want us to become friends I know I haven't done Anything. To gain your trust yet I want you to succeed as a jedi" she said caringly as she looked at him.

"Most jedi do yeah some buy their own others are given as gifts for helping save people some are given ships by the temple it all depends" she said looking at him. She wanted to become his friend but she was sensing he was getting short on patience with her that was likely do to her echani training and force sensitivity letting her read people well. "I don't know when you'll get your own ship lukan" she Said seriously. Not knowing what his future held for him.

"I guess because it seems like we outrank them" Lukan replied with a hint of disappointment in his voice, having gotten the impression that the Jedi could come and do as they pleased, and not have to worry about the legalities of normal folk. It had been an appealing prospect for the young lad who had aspirations of getting into further mischief on the street levels.

When Amanda braska spoke of her desire to befriend him, Lukan didn't exactly know where to look. He turned his attention to the street, averting his gaze though it would be apparent where his attention was as he paused before his response as if considering how best to answer her. He had never looked at an adult with the perception of them being a potential ally. They were authority figures, those who in the past had only ever put emphasis on the things that he couldn't do or was bad at.

"I suppose you're not so bad" he remarked, not really knowing what else to say. To get any form of a compliment out of him was a rare thing, so in a way, this was the closest she would get out of him that would suggest she was on the right track.

Amanda had put her ship into autopilot for the decent as she diverted her full attention to. Lukan Rath "we have no rank in society we are the same as everyone else in standing but when we fail the consequences can be more severe so we are looked at with scrutiny and some mild mistrust. Which is warranted given what force users can do" she said looking at him feeling his disappointment in his voice and his stature she was relaxed but gave off positive emotions and a sense of calm that would wash over lukan.

She watched his gaze and waited for his answer she got the feeling he wasn't used to adults being reassuring towards him and wanting to be allies or in his eyes as an ally. She waited for him to process his emotions and to speak up before she spoke herself.

She smiled at what he said "thats a start and I'll try my hardest to gain more of your trust and friendship" she said as her ship beeped as she spun around as she had started the landing sequence. "It seems we have arrived at level 1313" she said they had gotten there faster than she expected as she sat the yt 1300 down and turned back to lukan.

She got up "I'm sure you can handle yourself but I still want you to stay close there are far worse than criminals down here. Unnatural abominations of the force occasionally pop up no matter how hard the Jedi try to hunt them down but more pop up" she said. As she grabbed her lightsabers and attached them to her belt as she made her way to the ramp opening it she walked down.

The air smelled somewhat stale and recycled and most of the sunlight was gone this far down and most light came from artificial sources. Her dark robes contrasted the light but blended into the dark as she looked at lukan "where do you want to start exploring or did you just want to see what life is like down here?" She asked looking at him. Giving him control of where they went to an extent.

Unnatural abominations? That was new to Lukan's ears. "What, like some sort of monsters or something?" He asked plainly, speaking in a rather simple yet typical manner for one his age. He hadn't expected to come across anything worse than your usual smugglers, pirates and gangs down there. Especially as Coruscant was meant to be the heart of the Galaxy and the Jedi held such a strong presence there; He had expected they'd be doing their best to keep these sorts of things from appearing and potentially endangering the lives of others. "Where do they come from?" He asked curiously, a strong sense of intrigue suddenly born from the revelation that there might be something more worthwhile and interesting than simply walking the streets and exploring the Coruscant Underworld.

Getting up from his seat in the cockpit, Lukan turned away from the viewport and moved to accompany Amanda braska as they sought to disembark out into the open yet dense air of level 1313. He did of course have his training sabre still attached to his belt, one of the few important tools that he had been given upon his entrance to the New Jedi Order. It was something that he considered of great personal significance, given all things before the Jedi were usually acquired through theft or at a price often haggled.

The weapon aside, he wandered alongside his new Mentor wearing the Jedi tunic and leggings that had also been prepared for his arrival to Coruscant. A tan upper body tunic and dark brown leggings with even darker leather boots. They weren't his first choice in colour, but they would make do as his only other pair of clothing were ratty, worn and a little too loose for a decent trek through the lower levels.

"So are you wanting to be my friend because that's your job?" He asked rather abruptly as they left the ship and stepped out into the main street level where the locals were already passing them by, moving to and from the docking yard and out into the residential and commercial areas; "I reckon it'd make it easier for you to teach me if you think I like you, huh" he added, not doing anything to hide his suspicion over the prospective friendship she had voiced a desire for.

She looked back at him "dark side force users create them by twisting existing species into horrible new forms often times against their will. Enslaving them to the evil peoples will if they don't have direction they become mindless beasts sometimes other times they are given sentience or are twisted sentient being like you or me" she said. As she made her way off her ship her golden lightsaber hilts at her side. As she walked she met Lukan Rath pace of speed.

"Don't worry we aren't likely to run into any almost all have been captured for study or killed but one pops up time from time" she said as they stood outside her ship. She looked over the young man before her as people walked by going to residential areas and commercial areas as they walked.

"No I want to be your friend because I want to be your friend everyone needs friends and help from time to time maybe in the near future I could take you shopping get some more casual clothes or try some exotic cuisine" she said. He had doubts no doubt do to his past or him having trust issues he hasn't or doesn't want to divulge. "It would help if we had a friendly relationship but you'd find I'm probably one of the most relaxed teachers you'll have as a matter of fact I know a good gambling house on this level of you want to go I'll let you place a few bets" she said as she walked towards the gambling hall.
