A Whole New World

When the holocall closed, Kaalia had to chuckle. She was quite amused by the entire situation that had unfolded, but held in her laughter during the call to not create the feeling she found them to be odd in any way. The meeting, to the redhead, was in reality something she very much enjoyed. It did tire her out however, the barrage of questions being one that was closer to an interrogation than anything at times seemingly neverending. Combined with her general distaste for mornings she had finished her cup of caf quite quickly. "Call me crazy instead, but I'm glad I got to meet them. I never really had family of my own, so meeting yours was nice." The woman yawned for a moment, stretching out in the chair. "And I must say, seeing the myriad of reactions to seeing me and finding out I'm your girlfriend was very entertaining. They better get used to it though, because I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." That was what she hoped, at the very least.

Kaalia turned her head a little when Ishana leaned her head onto her shoulder, watching her look down into her own cup. "I would love that. The stuff at work isn't nearly as good as what they have here, let me tell you." She tilted her head up for a kiss as the pilot wrapped her hands around her. As the Kro Varian did she once again realized how ridiculously easy she was swept away by her and how badly she wanted to go wherever she went. Her mind drifted off as her eyes turned dreamy until she was snapped back to reality by Ishana. "I hope your mother can get used to me, she didn't seem too happy to see me. I suppose it will come in time, though."

A side glance towards the bag the brunette had brought with her caused Kaalia's interest in the contents to peak once more. She still didn't know what was in it and was getting quite curious. "So, when are you going to show me what's inside of your literal bag of secrets? You can't just keep that from me forever, there will be a point where I can't contain myself any longer."

Ishana sat with one leg up on the chair while the other was tucked beneath her form. One hand held the cup of caf while the other pushed stray hairs out of her face. She gave Kaalia a smile, and a gaze of warmth. The Balmorran realized that she had hardly given anyone reason to meet her family. Lovers she had, friends with benefits yes but someone she was going steady with? As she blinked her expression changed, she was amused. "Careful, stick around long enough and they'll adopt you into the brood," the woman said jokingly. But, if she were honest. It wouldn't be so terrible, being married anyway.

Part of her wondered what was going on, marriage? The word rarely slipped across her mind and yet in this instance it had. "I think they'll do more than just get used to it." Ishana remarked as she leaned over and placed a kiss on the Kro Varian's face. "And trust me if you thought this was entertaining just wait until we get down to Balmorra, it'll be ..." She turned her head away as she thought of a word, "mhmm magical?" The pilot said with a cheeky grin, "or something like it." The older woman gave her girlfriend another kiss and moved off the chair.

Ishana took Kaalia's cup and headed into the kitchenette. "Most work caf tastes like poodoo but not to brag or anything." A smile as she looked over the small counter while pouring the redhead's cup. "My old squad happened to be the best at it, between Pierce and Nils. Couldn't ask for a finer cup." And then the subject of her mother, it was one the pilot had put off until she was able to gather some physical distance between the two. "Mom's always had a special little place for me in her heart, but with that said I think she'll come around."

She walked around the counter and handed the now filled cup of caf to Kaalia. Ishana opted for the couch in the bungalow which felt as if it hadn't been used in a good while. When Kaalia asked about the bag of secrets, the Balmorran only grinned like a Cheshire cat. "You'll soon find out my love," she teased with her smile as it became masked by her cup of caf. Kaalia could do nothing but smile broadly when Ishana mentioned her family adopting her into the brood if she wasn't careful, the pilot's radiating warmth on her face only making it harded to resist swooning for a moment. "That wouldn't be so bad. Actually, where do I sign up?" A chuckle came from the redhead after she said that. Deep down she knew what Ishana alluded to, but she wasn't sure how she exactly meant it. "I sure hope they do. I'm not trying to steal you away from them. Well, not entirely." She returned the kisses and laughed at the pilot's claim that their visit to her parents would be even better than the holocall. If one thing was for certain, than it was that she was most definitely looking forward to it.

The brunette took the Kro Varian's cup and walked over to the kitchenette, at which point the other turned around to watch her fill her cup. "All I can do is be myself. Mothers are protective, that's normal." The woman didn't know it first-hand, but she had seen it many times with other people. "Her reaction was just a bit... off-putting at first but it'll be fine. She does it with the right intentions, I'm sure."

Kaalia followed Ishana to the couch and sat down next to her as she was handed her cup, casting yet another curious glance at the bag that rested against it. "I will remain patient, then. For now." Raising her cup to her lips she took a careful sip or the hot beverage. "Not that I'm a natural at being patient, but I've learned how to not be the opposite."

After another sip the redhead felt her stomach rumble, indicating that getting something to eat was something she would appreciate. "So, coming back to the topic of breakfast. Any preferences? I still need to return the favor from that time on Zeltros. That was delicous." She had forgotten how it was called, but found the stew-slash-soup to be very good. "I know a few things about making a nice breakfast."

Ishana chuckled as she moved to open the ice box, "farmer's market, and a few shops but shouldn't take too long." Zeltros, where the Balmorran whipped up a little meal after their night with Hazel. "You can repay me in kisses," she said with a smile as she brought the cup of caf back to her lips. With the door to the ice box now shut she looked the redhead over. "Repay me with one thousand kisses." Ishana added as she dumped the cup out and began to wash it. The bungalow was otherwise quiet this morning even as she hummed her smile only widened when Kaalia admitted to waiting, since she would have to. And for once in her life she longed to discover something as true as this, as pure as this. The love she felt from the young Kro Varian was real, and it was pure it gave pause for the Balmorran as she took in a deep breath and exhaled.

"I'm sure mom will be fine, they'll adore you if they don't already," she came around the counter and sauntered over to Kaalia offering the younger woman her hand, "since you are my queen, and as my queen they'll respect you." She offered more than a smile, "and as my queen, I'll cover you. I'll be your shelter from the storm. I'll be your blanket to keep you warm." This is what they meant when they said you cannot buy love, when the young woman had accepted her hand she pulled the redhead into an embrace. "With a thousand sweet kisses," she then placed a kiss on the redhead's cheek and then kissed her again on the lips.

"Sounds like a plan to me." In reality, Kaalia would have gone with anything Ishana had suggested. "Besides, even if it did take long it wouldn't even feel like that with you there." As she propped herself up to one of the siderests of the couch she put her elbow on it and rested her cheek in the palm of her head with her fingers curled up against her cheek, a hint of a smile visible as she admired the pilot from afar. Now that she had been given time to let the circumstances of the holocall sink in, she made a realization that made her smile grow. Perhaps what they had wasn't as limited as she had thought. It brought her hope.

The woman had to chuckle when Ishana told her how to repay her. "That sounds like I'll be ripping you off big time, that's no payment at all! But if that's what you want, I will gladly start getting to that thousand as soon as I get the chance. I'll sneak in some extra ones to sweeten the deal." With the 'extra' kisses she meant a few thousand more, but the chance of her saying "one more" to herself over and over was very likely. She would never say such a thing out loud and simply blame it on having lost count.

What the Balmorran said next made Kaalia blush a little. Hearing her say that made her heart beat faster and made it seem like it suddenly became a lot warmer. She gladly took her hand and returned her kiss as she savored the embrace. "You're my queen all the same," the redhead said as she pulled Ishana that bit closer and kissed her once more, holding it for what seemed like minutes.
