Judah Dashiell
Salvage Empire
Unknown Coordinates : Silken Asteroids | @[member="Alexandra Cinthra"]
With the exit from hyperspace the vessel immediately threw warning lights in the vessel. Asteroid fragments pinged against the hull, the larger pieces hopefully deflected by their shields before sensor arrays or an arm of the ship came off. Today, Judah and his small crew(another "Claw" vessel) were headed into the asteroids in search of salvage. Unlike business such as Silk Holdings, Judah had hired beings far more intelligent than himself to handle the day to day operations. Heck, Sedna Mining was run nearly on its own. Judah took in messages each day and gave his feedback and desires.
Salvage and droidworks? That was different. Judah loved having his hands dirty. Tinkering, plotting a new gadget, ripping old salvageable parts from the earth were all up his alley. Thus he remained the most involved in that aspect of the business. Keeping it small, expanding on his own terms.
Yet today -- if his intel was correct -- the salvage wasn't small. Rumor had it an old space station was just floating out here. The station would be excellent if it could be repaired, fixed, towed back to a nearer location to his business holdings at the southern end of the Galaxy. Well....they were at the southern end of the Galaxy. Judah needed the station moved more to the left, to align with the Rimma Trade Route.
If that was here.
Controls shaking slightly, Judah radioed to the vessel also doing the searching next to himself.
"Keep an heads up, both for this station and the larger asteroids. Also, I've heard mynocks run out here. Lets keep them away from our vessels, huh?"
A confirmation came back, Judah nodding to himself more than anything. On his vessel was a young woman, a Miss Cinthra who had been hired to help assess what would be found out the in asteroid field/graveyard. Judah suspected there had to be something out in the vastness of space. No way was he going home empty handed. Even if he had to throw on an envirosuit and grab a rock.
"Doing all right Miss Cinthra? We're heading deeper into the asteroids now"
As if on cue, the lights on the Claw vessel protested, dimming and returning to full power with each strike. To make matters worse, his wife's trusty little astromech Sparky was morosely chiming in, giving an opinion about his flying skills in such a time as this.
"I'm a former Republic fighter pilot or did you forget that Sparky? I think I can dodge some asteroids."
