Abandoning Onderon

[member="Grimm"]

Dena'lyn had had quite a rough few days. After returning from her mission, she'd found only death and destruction at the temple, her few peers and masters killed by foes yet undiscovered. After digging around and learning some information, she'd figured out the truth of what happened. While she was away on her mission, Onderon had been taken over by the One Sith. The jedi outpost here had been small and relatively unfit to take on a force of that magnitude, and so had offered little resistance it seemed. The missing bodies of 3 of the jedi led her to believe that some had managed to get lucky as she had, and escaped. The implications that she was wrong could only mean that if they hadn't, they had been captured and taken prisoner. Perhaps even turned away from the light side. Regardless of their fate, she couldn't do anything to help, regardless how much she would want to.

With little information to go on, and in hostile territory, Dena'lyn knew she was in a tough spot, and in immediate danger as long as she stayed on planet. That in mind, she had to get out as soon as possible. The main problem she had was that she didn't own a ship, she didn't particularly know anyone that well outside the temple, and she didn't have any supplies. Armed with only her intuition, the Force, and her lightsaber, she'd have to find her way on her own.

Having made her way to just outside Iziz, she paced around for a little while, trying to figure out how she'd make it off the planet.

Word of new territories being claimed by major factions wasn't an uncommon thing to hear, especially when it spills the holonet, from the arguments of legitimacy to a battle, to political standards to see if the fight was something "called for" or not. In any case, it didn't seem to have very many people rummaging through the trash quite yet. Landing a small three passenger ship onto the grounds below, the piloting woman inside prepared for the rummaging outside.

A small preparation backpack was made simple, and before long, the black outfitted woman walked out and into the open, already on foot to find the mysteries of the remains of the temple, if any. Perhaps on her way she could pick up the legal qualifications that say she can actually do this.

The one sith were indeed becoming stronger by the day, as he rode through the town. The once Jedi temple was raised and transfers to the new power. Everything was being used to change the way of life use to be, but overall it was the same.

He parked his ship far from the city, using his custom speeder to roll through the area. When he noticed that someone was making there way out of the city. It was some girl, but it was rather strange so he decided to ride up.

So he started to make his way over to the person with his dangerous looking chopper like speeder.

Notably, the young jedi was on edge. She had a powerful connection to the force, but her control over it wasn't exactly the best. She'd focused so much on her lightsaber skills that she'd had little time to refine her force abilities. Due in part to that, she couldn't even begin to hide her force connection. Which meant that she would have to resort to fighting or running if it ever came down to it. Her tactical mind wasn't great, but she knew that numbers would be an overwhelming disadvantage to her favored style of Makashi. If it came down to fighting more than one person, she'd have to switch to the basics of Shii-cho, or her acrobatics in Ataru. Of course, she knew Soresu, but not enough for her to trust her skills in a life threatening situation.

As she pondered the best course of action and her limited abilities, a disturbance in the force nagged at her. Turning, she saw someone on a speeder blasting towards her. "Oh by the Force, already?" she muttered under her breathe. Her options were narrowed down, and she had no time to think extensively. She couldn't outrun a speeder, and any force wielder of any power would be able to sense her quite clearly. She could sense that the approaching person was also a force sensitive, and that settled it.

Almost without thought, Dena'lyn had drawn her simple lightsaber, and the blue blade roared to life. She prepared herself to have to dodge the oncoming speeder if she had to, as she could readjust her stance and form according to anything else that came her way from there. 'Always address the imminent threat at hand first, but be mindful of other potential dangers.' she thought, remembering the training she'd gone through.

Noises weren't that hard to track down when the land is this clean, no businesses shouting at the top of their lungs for new things to sell or trade, and especially not any shooting from five places at once. Following the trail of the sound on foot, young adventurer La'kuus makes her within a fifty meter radius from the party, studying them both with some interest.

One of those people looked more familiar than made her comfortable. Staying, standing in the middle of no where while watching these two settle down an argument sounded like the best plan for now, just until she remembered why or if she wanted to meet these strangers.

His crusher roared as it approached the figure, he wondered what it was doing out here. It was then that he found the person out here on the outside, he looked at her with a frown on his face. A jedi out here? What could they even think of doing was it a resistance or someone coming to look for imprisoned members. It would seem that he was dealt another bad hand as he knew that this would turn out badly if the incoming patrol spotted her with her saber glowing like that. He wanted to blast her with his auto-laser cannons to tell her to get out of sight, but he knew that she was waiting for him to make the first move.

He got off his crusher, staring down the jedi right in front of himself. His facial expressions were blocked by his mask as he pulled a sword from his side into his right hand. It wasn't a light saber, just a regular looking long sword to any normal person. He approached without any hint of fear of her, as he didn't stop walking towards her. He wondered what she would do at this moment, was she seasoned or a complete novice.

"What are you waiting for, come at me, if you don't want me to tell the guards." He said menacingly from his mask.

Dena'lyn breathed an inner sigh of relief. Having to strike down a speeder coming at her would have proven difficult without aid of the force enhancing her abilities, and using the precognition it could afford her. While not a hard task to manage, it was one she'd have rather avoided. Too much could go wrong, such as getting the timing wrong. That would result in an imminent death. Or perhaps hitting the power core, causing an explosion, which would still result in her own death, or at least bodily injury.

The man in front of her was masked. She couldn't tell anything about him from a glance. Far too much was unknown. He told her that she should attack, lest he tell the guards about her, and that was all she needed to know. She had to take him out. He came in on a speeder, and that was enough for her to get away from here. The curious thing was that despite being a force sensitive, he pulled out a normal long sword. Perhaps he was a novice, a mere acolyte, and hadn't received a saber yet. Perhaps he had lost his. Or perhaps he didn't think it necessary to use against her. It was probably made from some saber resistant material, there would be no point in pulling it out otherwise. If it wasn't, he'd be dispatched quickly.

Calling on the power of the force, she enhanced her speed and ran at him to close the distance, once in melee range, switching to the dueling style of Makashi. This would be the first person she'd fight that wasn't a jedi she knew and sparred with. Hopefully she could duplicate her sword skills in an actual combat experience. Launching a quick succession of strikes, her targets were the bicep of his sword arm, the top of the shoulder of his opposite arm, and his left thigh, looking to score quick disabling strikes. If he couldn't hold his weapon or chase after her, and she could beat him quickly, perhaps there would be no need to kill.

If he were to respond with a counter attack that would interrupt her own quick secession of attacks, she would focus on her own defense first and formost, keeping to Makashi and focusing on deflecting and rerouting attacks rather than powering through his own. He was clearly stronger than her, and her strength wasn't amazing. It's the main reason she chose Makashi. Even while blocking in Makashi, she could use his own attacks to her advantage, slipping in past his defenses and scoring small blows. A lightsaber didn't need pure strength to be deadly, it was a weapon of finesse and sophistication.

Unbeknownst to her, however, she was being observed by more than just her opponent. Her almost single minded focus on her immediate surroundings and dealings was a flaw of hers.

Honestly he was expecting her to try to make a run for it. Instead she came towards him with her force to increase her speed. He felt it, as she closed the distance. He still waited until she attacked, her first strike aimed at his biceps of his sword arm was blocked by his sword that was enchanted to resist lightsaber strikes, but it was for ending a battle quickly.

Yet he never took his eyes off his opponent, as she came in for another strike. She wasn't trying to overpower him, but use precision to take him out. Instead of standing still to block, he moved into her right flank as her attacks simmer at his left side. Pivoting into her left side as it would take longer for her attack to reach its intended spot.

Letting himself move his blade to block the next strike with ease as she would need to over extend from what she first predicted. Once he stopped that blow, he dropped his sword from his hand, letting his left hand catch it to deflect the last strike at his left thigh. Then using the last strike movement to allow his right hand to come out for a rather rough hook aiming for her head to knock her down to the floor, if it connected. His last master used her very same style, but always aimed for the kill as they spared.....his own style was more forceful Juyo that relied on unpredictable actions, most users held no safety for themselves only to defeat the opponent at any cost.

"No intention to kill in those last three strikes. You know that the Sith gives no mercy." he said questioning her.

This guy seemed to be accustomed to fighting Makashi, seeing how he easily was able to adjust against her attacks. The sword, as expected, was able to withstand the saber's cutting power, which was unfortunate, but not a game ender. As he pivoted, she realized she'd have to over extend to hit him, but just as he wasn't remaining stationary, neither was she. It was simple footwork, and she was in a duelist's stance after all. A shift of her feet corrected the distance, and she was easily still in melee range without any over extension. Regardless, he was able to block her strike, and dropped his sword, catching it with his other hand as she went to strike his leg. Once again blocking her blade, stopping it from so much as singing him. Without a doubt, he knew what he was doing. Although, if she'd been any stronger or faster, she could have got him as he let go of the weapon, powering through his grip, or hitting him before he could even grab the blade. Unfortunately, she doubted she'd get the chance again.

As she was still processing her next movements, his fist slammed into the side of Dena'lyn's face, dazing her slightly. Her precognitive abilities weren't enough as she was so worried about ending the fight quickly that she hadn't been taking it slow and calculated. Letting the momentum of her body shift using his own right hook as the catalyst, her body spun, speed and strength enhanced by the force, and her own leg shot around, back of her foot aimed at his right side. It wouldn't be as debilitating as a solid saber strike, but it would have to do. She wasn't the physically strongest person around, but with aid of the force, she was stronger than the average human.

If she was able to afterwards, Dena'lyn would retreat a few steps, keeping her guard up with her saber held in front of her, keeping it between her and the other so that she could parry any attacks if need be. "I'm no sith. Sith may kill without mercy, but I won't stoop to that level unless pushed." she said, spitting out a little bit of blood. She'd cut the inside of her mouth when he punched her apparently.
