Tears of Onderon

A dark day from what she could from her mountain area, she held a pair of binoculars to her eyes watching the funeral silently and unmoving

Her reason for being on the planet simplyly to just watch and observe nothing more nothing less just watching the funeral

She sighed and moved to get comfortable as she looked around trying to identify the important people out of the crowd which was not hard she just panned to the palace and kept watching, she could feel the sadness even from her little area, and honestly it was overwhelming.

She sat again for a little more till she felt a spike of panic roll from the crowd, she looked quickly just in time to see the crimson saber pull back away, she made a face of disgust, sith really didn't have any honor in the fallen "frakking sith " she spoke and watched the assailant run before disappearing from her sight to which she pull her binoculars down and stood up, huffing from knowledge the sith was going to try to escape, maybe she could be bold herself and try to cut off the sith.

She turned and started running for her ship

As Cecily lay unconscious on the dais, her mind drifted deep into the recesses of thought and she entered the realm of dreams...

Her eyes were open, yet they could not penetrate the darkness that enveloped her. From all sides she was assailed by auditory terrors, the deep snarl of some vicious creature, the cackle of a mad man, the hiss of a deadly viper. All signs spelled doom as her knees buckled and she slid to the ground, begging for mercy. When death seemed imminent, suddenly it all stopped and a voice spoke, a terrible voice, full of hatred, coming from the darkness itself.

'Poor little Senator, poor little girl... poor pathetic, stupid little girl. Did you really think it would be so easy? That you could just close your eyes and wish away the darkness? Did you think that you could pull the covers over your head and the big bad Sith would just... vanish?' It hissed, so laden with fury that it caused Cecily unbearable pain to hear, 'no, I think not... you didn't honestly believe that silly little phrase when you said it, did you? Evil is finite' A sharp cackle pierced the darkness.

'Well, the love in your heart didn't keep you alive very long, now did it, my dear? You have failed,' the terrible voice was a roar now, 'and we shall bring the Republic to its knees. Let me show you the infinite power of the Sith.'

She felt herself violently jerked upward as if a giant meat hook had been thrust into her navel and her surroundings exploded with light, so hot that it seemed to melt away her skin. Massive roaring explosions erupted from all sides and as she blinked away the spots in her vision she saw Republic fleets enveloped in fire. A flash and she looked on as planet after planet was conquered by the One Sith, people of every species marching in chains before massive effigies to ancient Sith paragons. 'This is the future of your Republic. This is the Sith.'

Every inch of her body cried out in rebellion against the force that bound her, the invisible fingers that pried her eyes open. Insider her head she called out for help, to who she did not know. Yet, as she cried to the universe, seemingly in vain, she felt a powerful grip take hold of her by the shoulders and a warmth washed over her. 'No!' she was not sure if she had said it, but a blinding flash extinguished the visions before her and the voice came like thunder. She fell to her knees and all was dark once more... except, this time there she could see. A light seemed to emanate from her form and she could see.

'As long as I draw breath, that will not happen,' it was her voice, she was certain now, but it was stronger, more sure than she remembered.

'Darkness will take you,' the voice from the darkness was still filled with rage, but it was a mere whisper in her ear now.

'Darkness is merely an absence of light, where there is light... it cannot prevail,' she looked up now and beheld a terrible withered face that held no definite shape before her eyes, and yet she recognized the anger in its eyes, 'and there is light left in me.' It was not merely a statement, a guess, it was a pronouncement. With these words she passed sentence and sealed fate.

The face lashed out in anger, barreled toward her, but as Cecily held her hands before her it was met with a burst of radiant light. Brighter than the brightest of stars, the darkness fell away before it and was gone.

Cecily inhaled sharply and darted forward as the nameless Jedi ( [member="Mantic Dorn"] ) closed her wounds. Pain shot through her abdomen as her head reeled and she fell back into his arms. Memories of what happened came flooding back to her and she made an effort to sit up again, desperate to see the King, to see if anyone else had been injured, but she was too weak to move. She could only see the face of the Jedi and a ring of assorted guards who had created a perimeter around her body.

"Stand aside!" she heard a gruff voice bellow as the wall of guards parted. A contingent of Senate Guards pushed through with two medic droids and a hovering stretcher.

"Lady Cecily, can you hear me?"

"Yes, I-- the King, he's been--"

"We know, madame--"

"Did anyone else--"

"We are taking you to hospital, madame," there was no reply to her question, but she felt herself hoisted onto the stretcher and the hovering medic droids busied themselves tending to her. She resisted momentarily as she demanded answers, but when she felt the restraints tightened she knew it was no use. A few moments later and there was a rush of sound as a Republic ship descended, escorted by a compliment of smaller fighters.

The world around her shifted as she the soldiers quickly shuttled her to the ship and secured the stretcher inside. As the ship lifted, she caught sight of the panic stricken Palace Square. Entire platoons of Republic soldiers were flooding the square and ushering citizens back inside as emergency bells rang all across the city of Iziz. It was the last thing she saw before a sedative was administered and she drifted back out of consciousness.

She did not dream this time, though her last thoughts before she slept were of her vision... was it a vision? Had she been given some prophetic insight into the future? Had she been mentally assailed by some mysterious Dark Lord? Or was it merely a pain enduced hallucination? She had no time to contemplate, but of one thing she was certain: she would never give up.

It was time to set in motion her emergency plan. Throughout the city, ships were primed and ready for takeoff, and bombs were rigged to set off to distract the planet's efforts. Just like the two grenades she had thrown into the crowd to cover her escape. Revving her swoopbike, Ophidia shot out of the garage and headed for her ship. An incoming message from her chauffeur warned her that the ships were ready for takeoff and the cloaking already active. One of the advantages of a swoop was the superior speed and manoeuvrability in relation to its little sibling the speederbike. In the hands of another, it would have been smashed against the walls in a ball of fire, but she barely left a scratch as she drove it through the star port and up the ramp of her ship. They were waiting for her, and took off immediately.

"Get us off this rock, and launch the fireworks!"

A cascade of explosions were set off, targeting the civilian population of the planet to distract and disperse the effort. From every near-by star-port a multitude of ships of a similar design took off. Each ship was armed, and controlled by a life-form ready to give their life for the One Sith. Each life-form was equipped with explosives and suicide-pills in case they were captured. They had been on the planet for weeks, some for months in case this grand escape should become necessary. After take off, the ships all darted for space, changing places in formation to continuously confuse their pursuers. 23 ships left the starports simultaneously with the explosions. One of them had Darth Ophidia in it. Several ships went down in a rain of fire. Dropping debris on the city below. Those who made it primed for Hyperspace.

She got into her xwing and took off, out of the corner of her eyes she saw explosions and ships dart out with them all which oddly looked the same. She gunned for them and started on them"stupid sith frakking harming innocent people oh well I guess it shouldnt be surprised "she said to herself and started at them, she'd be noticeable and she didn't care at all she just wanted to get the sith

She flew and caught up as she started targeting and started firing into the the ships hoping to hit any of them

Stardust's immediate attack felled one of the emerging fighters, raining debris and fire down on the streets below. It was all part of the Sith's plan, to make the fighters question the cost of pursuit. For every ship shot down would rain fire on the streets and come crashing through the buildings, leaving death and destruction in their wake. How much peril would they put their citizens in?

Most of the remaining 22 ships continued, but 3 broke off to engange the attacker. Two of the ships swept out to either side and the third one came at Stardust's ship from an overarching trajectory to outflank and possibly entrap the fighter. Their ship-cannons fired, trying to down Stardust's fighter. Meanwhile, the rest of the mini-fleet made full speed for open space and their escape.

Stardust watched one go down and cursed watching the destruction "frak you with" she said over a open channel before noticing the three ships break off, she grinned and spun around shooting the first down the other two shots hit her in the wings and engine, her astromech r8 whirled putting out fires while giving a report

Keep those up long enough to hold me in buddy"she pushed her engines and spun around during at the other two with successfull shots.

But the two shots and a bolt hit through her cockpit breaking the controls and caused her to head down, the atmosphere started heating up around her, she waited till she knew it was safe and ejected r8 put where the little guy parachuted on down though he sent a message to [member="Adan Jax"] requesting help and evacuation

Meanwhile star attempted to activate the brakes which managed to slow it down but not enough she plunged into a forested area where a loud shriek of metal could be heard as well as she kept awake despite glass shards flying past and cutting her, soon a tree hit the right side casuding a large metal piece to come up and hit her arm at the shoulder severing it

Ahhhh frakkers"she yelled as soon it comes to a stop with r8 flying towards her

Adan was on Hoth basically doing nothing just exploring he got stardust message message mentally she was in trouble and he would be flying his ship to save her like a bat out of hell. He sent her a message back asking where she was. [member="stardust"]

Adan got the message with the coordinates and flew there finding a massive wreckage in the forest he ran quickly falling to his knees picking up the wreckage from stardust to get her out. With his strength implant he threw the pieces of the x wing as if they were made from paper. He pulled stardust out, her right arm complete mauled. He lifted her holding her in his arms he flew up now knowing how to. He landed on top of a mountain where his ship was to not attract any enemies. He laid her down on a table and strapping her down. "We will be home soon my love." He kissed her hand and jumped into the pilot seat and flew the hell out of dodge. [member="stardust"]

R8 followed the two as stardust struggled to stay awake , her eyes fluttering as she coughed and looked over at her arm bleeding out"frak

She sighed and drifted out and laid peaceful as r8 stood beside her

Unknown to her one of her sabers had fallen of at the crash site and was now gone

As a result of the exchange, the three Sith crafts were sent down in balls of fire, but so was Stardust. While Stardust simply crash-landed, the three crafts that had assaulted her exploded into another rain of fire and debris. The extra explosives packed on board the ship helped see to that no one within survived the explosion, and it gave the fleeing crafts further cover as they exited orbit.

They had sustained heavy casualties, from the original 23 ships leaving the star-ports, only a handful left orbit, but as they did, they immediately entered Hyperspace and set for the influence cloud of the One Sith. Within neutral space, they would meet up with the fleet of [member="Darth Ferus"], leader of the Sith Assassins and Hand of the Dark Lord. Among the ships was the craft of Darth Ophidia. It was scuffed, scraped, damaged by their escape, but alive and free none the less. It was time she gave her report on her assassination

On her way, she pondered the words the senator had said to her. Evil is finite. They churned around in her mind. How could something as abstract as evil be finite? If evil was finite, then was good finite as well? Cecily's speech had opposed that standpoint, but Ophidia knew that evil and good were interlocked. If there was a concept of good, then there would be an opposing concept of evil. What was the more good and less evil was judged by who you ask. Thus there was no ultimate definition of good or evil. She supposed, from the point of view of senator [member="Cecily de Demici"], her concept of evil was finite. Perhaps what she meant by 'finite' was the existence of a definitive definition? Perhaps that definition was personified by the Sith. Ophidia did not mind being seen as evil to the Galactic Republic.

As the chaos erupted around them I acted. Originally I was merely blending with t he crowd while keeping an eye on Faith nd her mother and attempting to give them a modicum of privacy. I had seen Faith's eyes scanning the crowd but I was good at blending and still doing my job. When everything went to hell I pushed through three people and placed my hands at the small of the women's backs quickly directing them to the side where a column of stone pillars would give adequate cover.

"Stay down and behind the pillars." Then with a hesitant eye at the women I step around the front of the pillar and draw my pistols as chaos erupted all around. Soon it became apparent that it was time to leave and thankfully the queen's guard had closed in to ring the two women as they escorted them quickly from the arena with me bringing up the rear.
