The OP's question seemed to be "why isn't this here?" instead of "can we do this?" Answers followed along that vein.

As for support or opposition, I'm opposed but not strongly convicted. I don't think it's really necessary, especially considering the existing feature that [member="Kobe Seren"] pointed out. If it's put in place, it certainly won't bother me, but I can't see the need.
