Alicio found Amani's eyes, somber skies meeting vibrant seas. He saw a similar expression to his own on her face- worry, yes, but an overpowering optimism, too. It was a terrifying thing, beginning a family of their own. So much more responsibility, less room for error. But there was so much potential, too. So much love.
They were ready for this. Alicio was sure of that.
"…Take me home."
"Yes, Ma'am."
He grinned, standing and pulling Amani to her feet alongside him as the fireworks ended.
The ride back to their temporary home went by in a bit of a blur, and it wasn't long at all until they were both standing outside the rustic cabin, hands entwined. Automatic lights had already turned on outside, casting their little slice of heaven in a warm amber glow. The sounds of night insects greeted their ears, singing their song to the world. Alicio hummed, admiring the sight, before turning his chin down towards Amani.
"You know one of the best parts of having our honeymoon here?" Alicio tried to hide a playful smile, his voice low and rough.
"We can be as loud as we want."
