Act II: A Trip To Wonderland

Carliah Dakrone

Walking the Path to Redemption
"I can't help it, I'm just so excited! And you're right this is a nice change... Though I'm sure I'll miss the fights soon enough. Can't have a pregnant woman rushing into battle, as much as I'd like too." She replied, smiling up at him. She had been absolutely ecstatic since she found out about their child. In fact it was quickly becoming the only thing she would talk about. She wondered briefly how long it would be before Yusan got sick of hearing about it. She mentally shrugged, it was his kid too she was sure he's excited as well.

They walked to the refreshment table. Glancing at him, she saw his hands behind his back, seeming prententious. That or well composed. The table was just as grandiose as the rest of the place: adorned with goodies and drinks and as well decorated as the rest of the place. Pouring a glass for herself, she took a sip. "Delightful!" The punch made her feel even more at peace than before. If that were possible. The feeling of unease from earlier even seemed to slip away momentarily. It was like magic.

For some reason he seemed to laugh along with her, if only for a moment. Reaching a hand up, he took hers into his own, and kissed it slightly, as if showing ultimate respect for a lady. To a Jedi. Why he would do this was beyond his own comprehension, yet, there it was. "Unfortunately, I am, Lady Organa. I cannot feel my mate's presence here this night, yet, I am quite content to mingle." Slowly, he lifted his own mask up and off his face for the time being, his normally dark and piercing sapphire eyes as bright as a Nubian day. That alone should worry Rianna, yet, still, she was being as cordial to him as he was to her. Sith and Jedi Masters, respectively, having pleasant conversation. Something was indeed wrong here. Yet, it seemed neither one was fully aware of it, as if it were just a distant, fading memory.

"Shall I escort you within? I trust you have someone waiting for you, and I would hate to keep you from them."

Civility? Rapport? Chivalry? The galaxy was indeed turning on it's head this night, however blissfully happy those gathered might seem to be.

It was not in Alen's nature to worry about things he could not see, unless they PRESENTED themselves into his mind through dreams or abstract thoughts. He instead decided to enjoy this evening in Kitt's company, and as he walked with her towards where drinks were available, he was enjoying himself indeed. He had almost forgotten how good it was to be in the presence of a beautiful woman, merely enjoying the ambience that she created without worry or anxiety. Na'Varro caught a whiff of the perfume she was wearing and grinned despite himself. It was a good 'un.

"You think this is a trap?" Na'Varro looked around, seeing Holland but not noticing him as a tail. "I do sense a ... elusive presence. If it is, then I'm sure we can get a couple of drinks in before it springs."

Favouring her with a lopsided grin, Alen retrieved a couple of cervezas from the bar. It was a tiki hut after all, they served that kind of stuff at tiki huts, and Na'Varro wasn't a huge fan of drinks with pineapple or coconut.

"Cheers."

"You're such a conversationalist." exhaling smoke Rexus flicked some more ash from smoke and sighed. "Space hippies." walking with Vulpesen he looked over to him as he kept pace behind him "You look ridiculous by the way." he said with a slight grin trying not laugh at the fact that Vulpesen looked like he was about to attend a furry party out in the middle of the woods by a bonfire. "I doubt that they know anything, I sense everyone's minds are blank like ours. Seriously just relax and feel the cancer." taking another hit of his cigarette he chuckled and flicked some more ash. He had to say he was enjoying himself in this situation @[member="Vulpesen"]

Walking down the aisles of the Festival, Rasu took in the everything, the lights, the smells, the people. Everything seemed just so pleasant. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, and that to affected the Shi'ido's own aura, unable to wipe the small smile of her face. Dressed in a red and yellow loose-fitting kimono, she continued on her way, recognising a few of the passerby's but not knowing them well enough to stop them and chat. It felt good to be out of her robes, and just have fun. No training, no paperwork, just letting go of her worries and enjoying herself. It seemed like nothing could go wrong.

Catching sight of a few familiar faces, she made her way over to the group of Jedi. "Greetings Masters, Vexander." she said nodding to them all, not knowing whether to perform the formal greetings or to remain informal. "Are we all enjoying ourselves so far?" she asked, eagerly hoping to see some of the Council members, even her friend, let loose from their staunch formalities and just have fun. This'll be a sight to see.

Strask spun as @[member="Ahra Marcon"] began, almost reaching for his sidearm. Smiling and relaxing as he recognized the man (or droid, I guess). "Indeed." Whether it was a response to the first or second statement, he left for Ahra to figure out. Turning back to his analysis, he motioned to the group of Jedi as discreetly as he could. "Everyone shows up. And enemys turn friends. I can't say it seems possible." The Bothan smiled and took another sip. "What do you think?"

Vulpesen rolled his eyes. "It's based off of the Amarran legend of Rurrri and Surru, the creation myth of my home planet." Moving onwards, he finally reached the jedi, watching as Ace leaped form his shoulder to crawl up the shoulder of @[member="Daella Apparine"]. "'Ello master." It had been some time since he had seen the burner of heretics, and he was happy to see her again. "So, does anyone here know whats going on, 'cause frankly I don't have a clue and I can't think of a reason to drink so much that I black out and wake up on some random planet with the armor of the Amaran myths." Something was up and while everyone wanted to relax, he was a jedi shadow, a seeker of shadows. There was absolutely no mystery that could get by him without driving the child of Amar completely insane.

Hell in a hand basket she thought I am going there, and Ket is escorting me to it. "I do not know my invitation said plus one, but I have not seen my plus one, and I've not really felt the presence I would search for. Its " she smiled, "odd really" Just as quickly as she said odd the concentration on why slipped away. "I mingle only a bit, large functions like this I find myself often at a loss of words for the politics and" what was the word she wanted odd that it would not come to her. As if any thought on, and again Rianna lost her train of thought.

"Yes inside, and I think I would like a drink Master Van Derveld, shall we go and drink one to peace?" Peace. Yes rainbows and puppy dogs, and everything is sunshine and roses, and look how pretty everything is. It was just right the way the colors all combined and flowed, a steady feeling of peace fell over Rianna. How wonderful that they could come here to celebrate. She smiled.

Vexander noticed the conversation and enjoyed everything second of it. Quite odd to be honest since they were talking a serious matter... But he just didn't feel like talking about war althought that was his expertize and his life...

The Knight looked at that moment and noticed the young @[member="Rasu Gan"] in a stonishing kimono... Perhaps was the Ale or the sense of peace... But his eyes opened wide althought it was not normal of him.

"Hi Lady Gan..." Said while he changed his face to the normal demeanor he had... Taking a sip from his drink and then facing his mentor.

"The situation might be odd Master @[member="Syn"]. But we might need to wait and see... Enjoy ourselves as Master @[member="Daella Apparine"] says" or was that wrong? His mind couldn't tell at the moment... Everything was clouded and he didn't understood...

Isolda had not been at the gathering, but the Eye of the Dark Lord was ever mindful. A waiter came walking passed the woman, holding a tray of drinks. Without further ado, her gloved hand reached out to pluck a fluke of bubbly.

Her blue eyes caught the motion of another woman near her. A subtle arch of a brow came next. She would not leave her perch for now, no... she had other interests, but would not mind company.

"Oh." Rexus said to the Jedi before taking one last drag on his cigarette. "You guys need new myths... cause damn." breathing out the smoke Rex flicked the butt away into the damp grass and sighed. Why did he always end up in the worst places at the worst times. Why couldn't he have woken up with a few hot chicks on the coast sipping a sex on the beach as he soaked up the sun. But alas these things were too good for old Rexy, he always woke up in these situations. so for now he would let the Jedi talk amount themselves to see if they could wrap their little Jedi heads around it. @[member="Vulpesen"]

Finding herself somewhere on a planet she didn't know, Lilith just knew she has to move towards the crowd to see the fireworks. Why was she here? She didn't know. How did she come here? She didn't know that either, but like everybody else, she knew she has to be there. Most people around her were Lightsiders. Well, maybe not most, but enough of them to make Lilith feel a bit unsure. Walking towards the group, shoulder to shoulder with a Jedi she didn't know, she thought about different possibilities.

But the night seemed really peaceful. There was no need to worry...

Wearing, a strangely designed red dress which was quite long - even longer than Lilith herself, typical red heels, a little handbag and a traditional Zahati'i tribe crown, she seemed quite suitably attired. Judging by her clothing, she seemed to wear Coruscanti clothing, mixed with a bit of Zahati'i style.

"I'd say you're right." Ahra's eyes followed a Twi'lek waitress as she walked by. "It seems too good to be true... and disastrous to our business." He chuckled lightly and took a swig. "Still, it's not a bad party." Gregor's lip twitched as he almost added a snarky comment about the food. A loud bang sounded above them, startling a nearby guest so badly he spilled his drink. A smile played at Ahra's lips as he watched the man try to clean himself, embarrassed. "The fireworks in particular are excellent."

"Disastrous to our Busness? It would make Intel gathering easier. Because this way, no one will shoot us." Strask, still smiling, commented. He flinched at the firework, and then followed Ahra's gaze. "From what you're watching, it would seem less so." Still, the man was right. It was a fine party. And the show was excellent. However, he was not at the ease he presented to @[member="Ahra Marcon"]. He was anticipating the other foot to drop.

"Ahhh...alright ad'ika one or two but thats it." Ordo said unable to withstand her girlish excitement. "And if your toes suffer it's not my fault!"

Ordo clapped Verz on the shoulder as he looked over the crowd. They were a good pair. It made Ordo happy to see them together, but a clap on the shoulder was all the encouragement he'd give. He didn't like putting his nose where it wasn't needed. Besides his mind was drawn elsewhere. His riduur was somewhere in the crowd and he could feel it. He hadn't danced in 10 years or more but for her he'd remember real quick. He just hoped it didn't get more elaborate than a waltz or he would be stretching the limits of Beskar'gam.

The war was over; there was ever reason to celebrate. Voroll stood amidst strange and unfamiliar faces, some in fancy clothes and few in costume - like he. He stood in a bulky, round Gamorrean costume with a ball-like torso piece and half-head mask. It did not cover his mouth, but facepaint did that job. Hecould see just lile he was wearing nothing, which was brilliant for a costume. It was comfy, too.

The atmospher was electric, almost everywhere he turned he felt the buzz and enjoyment everyone else felt. Then, ooccasionally, he would feel dount and mistrust. But he put that down to cynical old farts. His feet began to tap, this way, that way. This place, another place, then he was spinning. He spun around, laughter engulfing the surrounding. He danced through the crowd to beats of drums and other instruments. This was a place of joy and love.

Phantom smoothed his crimson tunic, complimented by a sweeping overcoat adorned with black and gold pattern, swirling around his body like the intricate cityscape of Coruscant.

The fact that he wore a mask every moment of every day gave him little chance to exploit the festivities of the Masquerade Ball, but in his own solace he had brought out a mask not to like his own, but one that arched over both his eyes and his cheeks. Ivory Durasteel once more, but with charcoal etchings to highlight the features that would be his cheekbones and eye sockets. It wasn't anything special, but less imposing than his usual one-sided affair.

He ascended a small staircase into the Citadel from outside and was breathless at the sight of such a grand sight. It was truly a vision, full of bodies adorned in their attire for the ball from all corners of the galaxy.

With no motive, no private war to settle and taking solace in the peaceful times, Phantom still had a score to settle with the galaxy that betrayed him, but for now he felt this wasn't the time to seek it.

With a charming smile and a strong belief in good, Phantom stepped into the Citadel.

"What?!" she spluttered. She took a moment to recover herself. How did he know about her birthmark?! She reached out in the force, poking and prodding at his all to familiar aura, a wave of nausea washing over her. "Rach?!" she hissed. Oh this was not good. Not good at all, had he still been a man then perhaps the situation wouldn't be so dire, but he wasn't a man.

He was a slug.

"Of all the things you could've come back as and you chose this disgusting form." she smiled, because everything was right and she had no reason to do anything other than that right? "Keep your hands to yourself, slimeball and we can celebrate in a manner that doesn't involve me throwing up." she kept that sweet smile on her face, though her eyes glittered with an unspoken warning. The fly buzzed again at the mention of war. What war? She swatted it aside. "Come on slimeball, I need a drink to deal with the shock."

Athur himself poured his own glass too but didnt drink it for now, instead his eyes drifted over the room and the man infront of him, studying them and their movements while he stood there. He did remained focused on @[member="Emily Vani"] though, and when she spoke he nodded in agreement. "Certainly an interesting night, i wonder how it will end..." He watched the many arrivals and seemed to be thinking intently for a moment before blinking and glancing to his side. "Sorry, got a bit distracted looking around at all the... well at everyone that wasnt human... err dont take that the wrong way i just dont see other species often."
