Aftermath (open to Galactic Alliance folks and Naboo people)

Elaine had made few calls back to her home on Elysian, she was seeing what she could bring to table to meeting later. After having a word with her military advisors, she got changed into a black dress suit. This was to show sympathy with people of naboo, as the news spread about the queen dying unexpectedly. As she came to meeting she was accompanied by the head of her housecarls, he was offer her advice during the meeting, on matters that came up that she did not know the answer to. She came a little late as usual to these things, as they where not her forte, and she never did like them. She took her seat and waited for Ajira to begin speaking, after all it was her meeting, and she would be setting the agenda. Though she did have some good news for her, if such an attack happened again. They might be even be able to tell what colour knickers from the right angle, of the woman was wearing who struck the palace. As her designers had come up with a new artillery piece the Stinger, and the prototypes where being shipped over as a gift as they spoke. She also had a ten platoons of pioneers coming to help build a factory, and a few artillery personnel to help train the naboo forces in the use of them. She would not let the people of naboo down, by not offering aid to prevent future attacks.

Enroute to Royal Palace
Theed

Marcello smiled before kissing the cheeks of Neari Nayva. Turning slightly, he grasped the forearm of Aarisar and offered the man a gentle nod of the head. "Thank you both for your hospitality. Please do let me know if there is anything I can do for you and your family." Pausing for a moment, Marcello glanced to Princess Xerian whom was patiently watching the exchange after having said her own goodbye. "I'm sure you'll have plenty of that, however."

Aarisar smiled in return. "We've been very fortunate. Safe travels, Marcello. Do consider what we discussed."

Marcello exhaled softly, hazarding a glance in Cerysi's direction. "I'll certainly give it a though, Lord Nayva, thank you."

Turning from the Baron and Baroness, Marcello walked with the Princess of Theed back in the direction of their respective vessels. Her own gleaming transport had arrived just a moment ago. "Trying times. You've heard of the meeting called by Lady Cardei, I presume?"

"Yes, Lord Matteo. Do you intend to participate?"

Marcello didn't give any obvious physical reaction to the young girl's method of address. Teenager or not, she was the Princess of Theed. "I am curious as to the quality of the meeting, yes. Plus if there is a chance that my moderate experience can be of some service to the future defense of Naboo, I do think I likely have an obligation."

Cerysi looked at Marcello with an impassive expression, but she said nothing immediately. It was not until they were reaching the boarding ramp of her vessel that the girl spoke. "I do hope to see you there, Lord Matteo."

"You shall, Your Highness." Marcello gave the Princess a polite half-bow as she boarded her vessel. Once her vessel had completely departed, he made quickened steps to his N-1T, cognizant of the fact that he was already almost late. Fortunately his starfighter was much faster than the Princess' transport.

Royal Palace
Theed

Marcello had just finished conversing briefly with the technician that would be tending to his starfighter for the duration of his stay when Cerysi Xerian's vessel arrived amid no shortage of security and protocol demonstrations. Marcello himself had even been asked by an RSF officer to kindly remain where he was until the Princess cleared the hangar. For good measure, the officer remained standing just in front of Marcello's vessel to ensure the request met with compliance. Probably a good thing as Marcello hadn't really been listening to the man...instead his attention was focused in the ether of the Force. A foreign presence that somehow seemed intimately familiar at the same time washed over his mind. He'd felt the sensation before...centered around a woman he did not know but...recognized in several ways. Not much thought had been given to the interaction past that day...busy life and all.

Shaking his head slightly, the Rogue Master lifted his gaze to the new arrival. Glacier-blue eyes watched as the young girl exited her vessel and whispered a number of instructions to one of her assistants. Eventually, Marcello caught Cerysi's eye.

"Lord Matteo, would you like to accompany me to the meeting?"

They'd discussed this already, but Marcello knew the Princess was merely making it clear that he should not be delayed any longer. "It would be my honor, Your Highness." The trip was quick and before long, the Princess' impending presence had been announced to the room. The moment that Marcello cleared the threshold of the door, his gaze snapped to [member="Loske Matson"] and lingered for a brief moment under a narrowed gaze. However, he quickly pulled his attention to the others in the room, nodding respectfully to [member="Ajira Cardei"] in apology for being late. He'd not voice anything as he'd arrived with Princess Xerian, so it really was not his place.

"My apologies to all those assembled. Myself and Lord Matteo only recently concluded affairs at the Nayva estate. I'm sure you can understand the delay in our schedules during this time of loss."

Smooth. See Marcello didn't talk like that. Aarisar was crazy. Politics was not the Jedi's arena.

Settling in beside Cerysi, Marcello turned his attention to those in the room. He did not know most of those assembled, and he forced himself not to stare at the familiar blonde. There would be time for an inquiry once business was complete. "Lady Cardei. Would you mind recapping what has been missed for the benefit of Princess Xerian?"

You know. And for himself.

Ajira rose, and the room, as the princess joined the meeting. "Your Highness, Lord Matteo, welcome." She folded her brocade dress under her with a quick motion as she retook her seat. Naboo formal wear took some getting used to.

"These are Representatives Matson and Misrani from the Galactic Alliance and the Kathol Outback respectively. To recap: The Theed Palace Space Vessel Engineering Corps have agreed to provide the Alliance system defense forces with priority refuel, repair, and refit services out of our Ohma-D'un shipyards. The Alliance will be assisting Theed Hangar in system defense, though what shape that burden share will take has yet to be determined. Representative Misrani has offered the Outback's -- the Underground's -- assistance in testing our security processes, especially against slicers. She's also sent word that official visitors from the Underground's general staff will be attending Her Majesty's funeral to pay their respects. Also, Miss Thul here has been selling her anti-air materiel.

"Essentially, we're still in the process of identifying Naboo's collective assets and security gaps, and making the necessary connections between them. That said, these meetings are mainly for stakeholder consultation, and the big decisions will happen elsewhere."

Marcello nodded his understanding, but he left the speaking to Cerysi.

"Thank you, Lady Cardei. I'm merely here to observe for a time, but I will have to leave you all shortly to attend a meeting with the Governor regarding our...next steps. For now, please do continue."

Once the Princess had said her piece, Marcello permitted himself a soft exhale. He was no stakeholder in any corporation, and he preferred not to be involved in the minutiae of acquisitions. However, he could certainly convey his opinions on the matters. But first... Glacier-blue eyes drifted towards [member="Loske Matson"]. A representative from the Galactic Alliance? He knew the name, of course. He knew the name of all the halfway decent pilots in the Alliance. Now...the name had a face, a familiar one at that.

That wasn't true, but he knew the names that Admiral Tev spoke of during their brief, infrequent communications. "There's still a spot for you Marcello." Marcello supposed you didn't get anywhere without being relentless. For now, the Jedi Master preferred not to call the young woman out or put her on the spot. He gave her a very definitive glare of curiosity though. A junior, teenage pilot wasn't typically whom you sent to represent a larger government in these types of meetings.

Shifting his gaze to [member="Ria Misrani"], Marcello offered a casual appraisal. "I know of the Underground, quite well in fact. I think we would be hard-pressed to actually install measures that could stop the likes of most of the slicers in the organization." Slowly, Marcello tracked his gaze back to Ajira. "I'm not saying that an upgrade to our command and control networks is not a decent consideration. Perhaps it would be less time-consuming and cost-prohibitive to, instead, retain their services in recommending or designing an ideal system? In that regard, they retain proprietary control and need not worry about us selling the technology to those...they'd rather not help." Not that anything like that was really much of a reality. Marcello was, however, cautious of the Kathol Outback taking the opportunity to create a back-door to their own purposes. Give and take...trust would have to be extended in certain avenues to make progress.

Finally, Marcello allowed his gaze to fall on [member="Elaine Thul"]. "I'm afraid that I am unfamiliar with your products, Ms. Thul. However, speaking generally anti-air defenses can never hurt." Leaning back slightly, Marcello chanced at glance and Cerysi but immediately reverted to addressing the group at large. "Not to try and derail any efforts here, but as I'm sure Lady Cardei can attest to, the council which these suggestions will go to for approval won't...likely consider the immediate tactical advantages. For the most part, this planet is not very militant...you can see that simply from walking around. The culture of Naboo does not exactly lend itself to a natural warrior mindset, and I am sorry to say that we live in increasingly confrontational times. Establishing alliances and giving what moderate defensive forces we have the appropriate training are going to be the grander considerations and arguably the harder task."

OK...he was going to call out the flygirl.

Shifting his ice-blue gaze to Loske, a gaze she had as well, Marcello attempted to be...fragile? It was too late for that. He was in business mode and that simply meant logic would override anything else. "I would hope in the future the Galactic Alliance would deem this of a concern great enough for a more experienced officer." Raising his right hand slightly, Marcello indicated he hadn't quite phrased that properly. "I mean no offense, Lieutenant. I'm sure someone else was supposed to accompany you... However, you might suggest to Admiral Tevv to reach out to the Governor of Naboo directly in the not-too-distant-future."

As if to partially indicate Marcello had made his point and to excuse herself, Princess Cerysi Xerian placed a gentle hand on Marcello's broad shoulder. "Please excuse me, everyone. No need to stand." Before she departed, Cerysi whispered a brief comment into Marcello's ear.

Marcello blinked several times, remaining quiet until the Princess had left. The simple words she had uttered rattled him far enough to, basically, lose a fair amount of the steam he'd built. "Also shielding, but I think maybe that is already in the works?" Glacier-blue gaze returned to Ajira, effectively relinquishing the floor he had stolen in somewhat bold fashion. Marcello had always been passionate about leadership making the right decisions, but it so often started with those that supported them being fully aware of the overarching concerns the political types on Naboo would undoubtedly have with any defensive improvements.

It went beyond funding and function... There would be people that commented on the aesthetic appearance, cost to operate, install. Was there a desire to have so many outside entities with, ultimately, access to Naboo if contractors from various corporations were needed to operate any equipment? Spoiler alert: they would definitely require contracted support for many of the systems. That was not a battle to fight in this particular room, however. It was a battle to fight in the next meeting that he was apparently being summoned to.

Ajira maintained a polite smile as Matteo spoke. Frankly, she agreed with him on most points, but when the chair of a meeting took stances too soon and too explicitly, it tended to stifle discussion and thus engagement.

"I can speak to shielding, yes. With the approval of Her Majesty's Office, Theed Hangar recently acquired an advanced prototype shield generator from Rendili and Chandrila DataTech. The Engineering Corps has vetted the generator intimately. Decisions are still being made as to whether to install the generator or to use it as a springboard for our own technological capabilities." Though she wouldn't discuss it in this public meeting, there were concerns that some kind of surprise could have been concealed in the offworld-built generator. Rendili Star Drive had Sith ties, in some ways, and Ajira very privately knew that Alicia Dray of Chandrila DataTech was in fact the Sith Lord Darth Ayra. The same one who'd attacked the palace.

No, if she could help it, that generator wouldn't be used at all. Studied, certainly; improved upon; but never trusted. Since her own secrets would be jeopardized by the simple question 'how do you know who she is?', though, Ajira had been resorting to roundabout methods.

Then again, she'd ruled over a quarter of the galaxy at one point or another. She could banthapoodoo bureaucratic rationales out of thin air when it suited her.

[member="Ajira Cardei"]

Marcello nodded slowly to Lady Cardei's statement. "Rendili? That's...intriguing." The affiliation between Rendili Star Drive and the One Sith was not exactly a state secret. However, the Jedi Master was not precisely sure how deep that relationship ran. It was the principle reason for his concern. Steepling his fingers together in his lap, the large native fell silent, quietly contemplating a number of variables. It was something he might bring up with the Governor later...probably not. That old fossil was barely keeping it together as it was.

Housecarls

She looked at the Lord Matteo as he spoke to her, he told he did not know much about her portfolio of weapons, but anti air weapons where always useful. She smiled politely as he did, and wonder what he looked like in youth, as he was not bad looking now. As finished speaking to her directly, he spoke to others in the room. She waited for pause, and then said This is the commander of my personal Housecarls, I am sure he can help with any training issues you may have. Also I have talked to my military advisors, and we have some people coming over to help short term, and hopefully that will help long term as well. I got a few artillery pieces being shipped over to help secure your skies, and personal to show you how to use them. Also this is security brief my Housecarls made, before I came over here, though it failed to mention the idea of sith coming over and launching an attack. She said the last bit with slight smirk on her face, as to be fair random acts like that could never be predicted. She glanced into her eyes as she spoke, shame they where not green, but blue was nice. She then listened to what they said about rendili stardrive, and waited for a reply.

"Yes, when Rendili approached us, we had security-related questions," said Ajira as blandly as possible. Blandness could be a language all its own. "Frankly, we still do, which is a factor in ongoing discussions."

[member="Elaine Thul"]

"Thank you for your kind offer, Miss Thul. I'm told the Thul Housecarls are well-trained indeed, though I'm not sure how easily their power armour expertise will translate to the kind of operations that the Royal Security Force conducts. Still, I'm certain the RSF would be interested in cross-training. As for the materiel and material you're providing, no doubt the RSF will be interested in taking a look at their convenience. One can always use more artillery, especially in an urban setting, just as one can always use more security briefings from third parties. I'm sure the RSF commanders will be delighted by your Housecarls' gracious assistance. I only hope the RSF can be trained to match their stature and prestige."

Underground. Finally, enough of this pretending to be a real thing she thought to herself. She did blush when he mentioned the amount of skill that they - yeah, they boasted about it. Suddenly he was talking about proprietary systems and retaining rights. Which would be great if they got to make some kinda coin out of it! Goddess only knew how badly they were in the red, they might be brilliant con artists, slicers, smugglers and otherwise a scoundrel of a lot but they were always generous. Perhaps, too generous with anything they got. Not to say that hey didn't have their fair share of greed, but they were less likely to retain it. She waits for the conversational exchange between [member="Marcello Matteo"], @Ajira Cardei, and [member="Elaine Thul"] had died down a bit.

Talk about feelin' like a kid waitin' for the adults to get done talking. "Excuse me." She politely interjects and directs her attention to Matteo. "If you guys really want us to design something, then I'd need to call my bosses, General Merrill and Beyyr. No way I can make any kinda decision like that. So maybe we could meet privately and figure somethin' out..." Her voice died down her eyes shifting between the blonde guy and the lady who seemed to be in charge. Cardei? And he was Matteo, feth gotta talk to Bryce about this memory thing. "You guys need a generator?" Was all she asked, scratching the back of her head and offered a weak nervous smile. "You know we Underground types are good at skulking about, I mean we could probably salv-." Speak when spoken to Misrani, "Oh, you're not, you're not okay, yeah." She just pointed to the door. "I'm gonna go make that call now, excuse me. I'll be right back."

Legit businesses would probably want a legit generator. Not that the Underground couldn't manage one, but then there'd be questions. Where did it come from? Who did it belong to? What do you mean you raided a Qekoth & First Order shindig? Not raid, we showed up things happened and who knows what kind of information they got while leaving a slicer in the center of a control room. But for now, she had to get back on the horn with General Merrill. She slid back down the hall for the terminal and dialed up General Merrill. "General, sir." She saluted? Was she suppose to salute? "Sir. I've got a quick recap for you, first of which is that I did offer the Underground's ability to maybe test." She gives a shrug of her shoulder. "Test Naboo's system, but then this uh, Jedi? I think he's a Jed- Anyway, Matteo suggested that maybe we would design it? Design a security system for them and then something about us retaining the rights? And then Lady Thul..." She twirls her fingers around not even sure if that's the appropriate title. "Lady Thul offered some cross training support? Her royal security force? And somewhere in between that there was this like really serious talk about a generator from Rendili Star Drive, or Chandrilia DataTech and then Theed Hangar being super-duper iffy about that." She stopped to see if she could recall anything else, a finger to her chin and then, "oh! I told Matteo and Cardei? Yeah, that I'd talk with you and that maybe we'd all have a nice big sit down talk about this security system."

Light eyes moved to the doorway, where a well-dressed and doll-like female appeared with a familiar fellow. The Jedi she’d seen during her arrival on Sullust. She was standing, shoulder to shoulder with the other representatives, hands folded at her stomach, and plain to see. She saw the almost accusatory look in her direction, and her own cerulean gaze caught that oceanic glower before she couldn’t hold it anymore. Sheepishly, she looked downward, exhaling heavily through her nose. It was as if she’d just been visually scolded, and she didn’t even know this person.
Had she done something to upset him on Sullust?

Didn’t matter. The more he spoke, the more bated her breath became. Each individual was being assessed and then finally this massive person was pointing a rather large proverbial finger in her direction. She wanted to cower away, shrink beneath the table and have Frank drag her back to her fighter, but instead she straightened.

Logic did suggest her youth and rank an impairment, her own sense of reason couldn’t come close to arguing the idea. Much unlike the stubbourness of her maternal donor, Marcello’s own thinking was more aligned with the girl’s.
Pulling from her back pocket of self-knowing and rightness, she’d not scoot from the table with her tail between her legs, and that eerily similar stare at her was reflected with her own, doing her best to appear as lucid and unbothered as possible. Inside though, her mind was frantic - searching for an exit at every turn as if she’d just been discovered as a spy or something. He looked at her with too much awareness to be such a stranger.

“You’re correct, Lord Matteo. I have a limit on what to offer as I’m a proxy here, but an outline nevertheless.” It would be daft to come in here making promises the Alliance couldn’t support. She’d earned a little more badges since her initiative on Corporo. An idea of her own to gain some insight on their enemy — which had proven beneficial for some invasion preparations. “Admiral Tevv, or other, will be reaching out to confirm anything passed here is acted on or negotiated further.” Who was this dude? Did he need to know what’s been agreed on?

Something inside jiggled, suggesting she tell him everything. She wanted to - but it seemed he'd already know, for some reason or another. Her hands folded beneath the table.

A small, attempted confident curl of her biplane was offered in the shared direction of the Lady hostess and the accusatory blond Lord; “Shipyard due diligence is within my realm of jurisdiction for now; as long as both parties are in a mutually beneficial position.”

Marcello nodded a simple understanding to [member="Ajira Cardei"], but he quickly turned his gaze to [member="Elaine Thul"] and afforded the young woman a pleasant smile. "Lady Cardei is, of course, correct. Particularly with regard to the Royal Security Force. However, I too can see the role and capabilities of the RSF needing to expand as we move into the future. As a former member, I can assure you with relative ease that the limited scope of their operational focus is very much to the planet's detriment given the current galactic climate."

[member="Ria Misrani"] was next, but she rather quickly ducked out to contact General Merrill. Marcello did not know Jorus Merrill exceptionally well, but he did know him. At one point in time, the man occupied a seat on the Jedi Council. Once Ria had stepped out to have her conversation, Marcello's glacier-blue gaze drifted to the chrono on the wall. I'm going to be late. Sighing heavily, the Jedi Master came to his feet. At precisely that time, [member="Loske Matson"] launched into some kind of explanation that he was certain she thought actually meant something. He rather highly doubted that any sphere of authority had been vested in the young woman for the purposes of liaising with planetary or corporate leadership on the behalf of the Galactic Alliance.

Rather than escalate the situation or engage in a match of trading verbal jabs, Marcello simply smiled at the young woman. "My apologies, Lieutenant. I did not mean to indicate that your time and assistance is not appreciated. As this is not exactly a decision-making body anyways, a diversity of viewpoints and backgrounds is undoubtedly an asset." Politicized like a boss.

Diverting his attention to Ajira once more, Marcello half-bowed politely. "Lady Cardei, I am afraid you will have to excuse me." Turning to the rest of those assembled, Marcello maintained an easy smile as he raised his hand to accompany his departure. "Pleasure meeting all of you. I do hope you take the time to enjoy what Naboo has to offer before you must return to your duties." With that, Marcello turned and departed.

He'd only made it halfway down the corridor before he paused in front of a RSF Captain. "Captain...a moment?"

"Lord Matteo." The security officer offered a polite half-bow instinctively.

Marcello had reached out to steady a hand on the man's shoulder. "Please don't. Though could you do me a favor? There is an Alliance fighter in the hangar, T-70. Be sure neither it nor its blonde pilot is permitted to depart without myself being consulted first."

The Captain gave Marcello a puzzled look. "Is she a guest of... Well... Never mind, certainly Your Grace."

Marcello politely clasped the man on the back. "Thank you, Captain. I won't delay you any further." Long strides carried Marcello the remainder of the way down the corridor until he turned into an adjacent corridor. Within another ten minutes, Marcello was outside the Throne Room of the Royal Palace. He did not wait long as a government functionary was immediately at the door, ushering Marcello inside.

The blonde Jedi could plainly see that the Throne was unoccupied...as it would remain for some time yet. However, the rest of the advisory council and the Princess of Theed were arrayed around the Throne in their typical positions.

"Ah Lord Matteo!"

Seriously. He was pretty sure he'd told the Governor about eight million times to knock that off. For his part, Marcello stepped forward before bowing deeply to the council and, more specifically, the Princess and Governor. Technically, the Governor's position was currently that of Regent, ruling in the stead of the recently departed Queen. "Her Highness informed me that you wished to see me, Your Excellency?"

"Yes, yes. Come my boy, have a seat." The Governor still wore his usual smile regardless of the tone of the day.

Taking a seat, Marcello steeled himself for what he'd known was coming the moment Cerysi whispered the summons into his ear. "How may I be of service?"

"There have been many conversations leading up to this day. The Queen had always known her health was declining, and she made it rather clear as a citizen of Naboo that a change might one day be needed. Specific names were never discussed, but those of us assembled here, in light of very recent events, are inclined to agree with our late Queen."

Silence.

"We would very much like for you to run for Head of the Royal House of Naboo in the upcoming emergency elections. The time has not yet been announced, but we will be making the announcement before the outset of this day. The people will be given a week to make their decisions."

A week... That was rapid on any account. However, Marcello maintained an even expression as he replied. "I do believe protocol is to have at least two families support the nomination."

"The Royal House of Theed supports your nomination, Lord Matteo," came Cerysi's melodic voice near immediately.

"It would also appear that Baron Aarisar Nayva also supports your nomination from the official letter he dispatched early this morning."

Marcello felt as if he'd almost been manipulated into this. "I've never been a ruler. My entire life has been in the service of others."

"And so it will continue to be, Lord Matteo, regardless of the outcome of this emergency election. You represent an ideal. You have experienced much in this galaxy, served Naboo in your past even before you became aware of your lineage. Even when you became aware of your connection to House Veruna, you immediately moved to better the people rather than erect lofty castles in the Western Expanse. We have even received word from the Gungan leadership that they would be happy to support a candidate such as yourself."

Was this girl really sixteen? She spoke like a forty-year old. Still, Marcello remained silent for several moments.

"If you need time to th---"

"I don't need any time." Marcello immediately became aware of the fact that he'd just cut the Governor off. "My apologies, Your Excellency. I do not require any time, and it would seem that time is in short supply at any rate. I will do what I can for Naboo. However..." The Jedi Master raised a single finger to emphasize his last point. "If any of you in this room think that I will be your puppet, you are sorely mistaken. I have avoided any positions of authority over others since I left the service of the RSF for a very good reason. I refuse to turn into precisely that which I have criticized for the better part of multiple decades."

The Governor and Princess both smiled, the rest of the assembly was quiet for the most part. "Good luck then, Lord Matteo. You are dismissed."

Marcello came to his feet and afforded those assembled a polite half-bow once more before turning to depart the room and return to the hangar.

100% he was still going to talk to that girl and find out what her deal was.

Yeah, the Underground had a few good slicers in the wings. Data security would be a good avenue for cooperation, if nothing else, though Jorus would put money on any Underground efforts running into red tape comparable to this Rendili generator, whatever it was. Most Galactic Alliance people still associated the word 'Underground' with Coren fething Starchaser. Good man, terrible temper, eventually radicalized and then some. He'd wreaked his brand of hormonal havoc across the Alliance, and he'd been the Underground's main point of contact with them. Lot of history to overcome, but doable.

Lady Thul. Young, blonde, and Alderaani, if memory served. She'd popped up in Kathol space as well. Jorus made a note of it.

"Go ahead with improving their data security. As for Thul, do me a favor." She was a slicer, and he had his own encryption suite too, so he wasn't unduly worried about speaking out of turn. "Grab a bit of footage -- security cameras, anything you can get legally and quietly -- of the House Thul Housecarls at work. I keep hearing the name Thul. Let's find out what they're capable of. Third thing, the generator -- power generator or shield generator? -- that's of interest. Rendili has One Sith ties, and Chandrila DataTech..." He thought back to going through his sister's files at death. There'd been a massive stack labelled 'Alicia Dray.' "...don't poke that one too closely. I'm sure Marcello Matteo and this Lady Cardei and so forth all have it well in hand. As for the sit-down, I'll see to it that whoever comes out to pay our respects makes time to talk it through at a higher level. Good work, Misrani. Keep it up."

Elaine listened to the replies to her offer of help, they where gracious in the acceptance, and they soon learn they trained in more than just power armour. As Lord Marcello replied he gave her a pleasant smile, obviously he was being polite, being above her station and much older than her. She then waited for others to leave, and said to Ajira I shall begin looking for a place to build the factory, and billets for my troops. I shall probably depart a few days after the funeral, unless there is further need for me to stay. I also bring samples of all my products, so your forces can have play with them, and if there is any specific things you interested in, please just ask. Her voice was polite, she knew her reply would be short and they probably both go separate ways soon, as they both had business to attend to.

Ria nodded making mental notes of just what it was that General Merrill needed her to do. "Legally?" She asked him, oh boy, that might've been harder than she figured. See, growing on Nar Shaddaa there wasn't a thing called legal. It was strike hard, strike first and puff your chest enough and maybe people would listen to your rules, in your sector. If there were laws, she hadn't heard of them and law enforcers were either scarce or part of the corruption around the Smuggler's Moon. "Sir." She quieted down a little, because admittedly, you'd think that a girl her age should know what is and isn't legal, but when you're raised by a bunch of criminals who all happen to work for a Hutt within the Ramesh part of the Cartel, yeah...

"Just, how... Um, how do you." Ah, c'mon Misrani spit it out. "How do you define legal?"

It was an honest to Force question. "I can't recall, but I want to say Power Generator? Not sure, but Lady ... Cardei seemed a bit iffy about the whole thing when it was mentioned." She shifted her lips as she thought about it. "I could perhaps clarify and get back with you later tonight, and I'll see what I can do legally." Ew, she thought on that last part after General Merrill had thoroughly clarified meant. That was just zero fun, no hacking, just simple feed lifts, any wiz could do that. "Eh, I've had my share of Sith." Thississi- whatever the kark it's called, she had no intention of becoming force bait for a buncha karkin' Mandos again. She didn't even get paid...

"I'll stick around for the funeral, hey, boss I'm gonna put out hit with the kids down in the Outback, any other slicers I should look up first though? I mean, if we're designing this system we're gonna need some pretty good slicers, and I'm good but I can't do that on my own." She rubbed her chin a little, "and we're probably gonna need to legitimize this aren't we?" A rather disappointed yet knowing sigh escaped her. "Is there a business name I should give them?"

"Find out what Naboo and Galactic Alliance laws pertain to private recording and private security camera footage, and don't break those laws. Otherwise, anything goes. I'm sure you'll find a way. As for the generator, leave that alone for now, I think. The important part is the Rendili and Chandrila involvement, and how Naboo's uncomfortable with it.

"For slicers, the best one I know of goes by [member="Spark Finn"], though fethed if I can tell if that's her real name. That's not a side of things I dabble in. I'm sure you know that world better than I do. As for a company name, I don't have one to give you, not for information securit. Feel free to start up a front corporation -- Force knows we've already got enough of them.

"Listen, Misrani, you're doing good, but I've got to run. Comms network's on the fritz again. Beyyr or I or someone else from the general staff will see you at the funeral."
