Ahch-To, Training Begins

Kalyn thought that was pretty degrading, for men to only be seen as a use for breeding. She noticed a native woman walk up to the two of them, Kalyn listened as she spoke to her Master, quite rudely in her opinion. She raised an eyebrow, looking at the native, not appreciating the tone she used with her Master. Kalyn quickly wiped the look off her face as the native glanced at her before turning around and motioning the pair to follow. Kalyn followed close by her Master, she laughed at his comment about Minerva. "Don't worry I don't exactly plan on getting to know her better." She replied

He watched his padawan with the force as they were moving and following. Receiving a look though and they were led over towards a railing looking out. "We have been keeping it contained. Thankfully the mists kept the bulk of the sith forces and republic for the time away but some were still here. They brought their creatures and that was what they left in the base. We aren't going to set off a bomb in the city but we don't have the skills of handling creatures like this. That is where you come in." THe jedi master was looking at all fo the things that they had to work on. He popped his neck and rolled his shoulders while looking towards the base and there was heavy walkers and walls around as the soldiers were keeping things in. Some of the tuk'ata that were there running around but then disappearing back inside when he motioned. "Well then we'll go in and handle it. Sithspawn are easy enough to handle."

"Yeh we got this under control." Kalyn assured Minerva, with a small salute with two fingers, her confidence making her sound slightly cocky. Minerva just stared at her blankly, having no interest in whatever the young girl had to say. Kalyn also noticed the four legged creatures, other wise known as tuk'ata. Her attention was diverted from Minerva to the creature as one caught her eye. She started getting excited for her first official 'mission'. Kalyn grabbed the lightsaber that rested on her hip, eager to get started.

He could feel his padawan and she seemed excited as the jedi master moved, beelining it with the doors opening for them to go on through and engage the creatures. The soldiers that were there seemed eager but young compared to it so he was guessing the least experienced one that if they died from beasties wouldn't cause as much problem. Sad but true when the jedi master came through with the gates closing behind him and his padawan, the tuk'ata seemed to change course and look at them before charging them when he was moving to the side. Not bringing out his saber when the gate closed and the howl could be heard. His senses flaring all around to provide a feeling of the different creatures in the base. He moved back and to the side when it got close grabbing one of the horns and driving it down so the beast flipped over with its face in the duracrete.

The doors shut and light dimmed, Kalyns eyes adjusted to the new level of light and looked around at her surroundings. Kalyn spun the lightsaber hilt in her hand, looking for one of the creatures. She jumped and turned towards the sound of a howl but relaxed when she saw her master was taking care of it. She continued looking for one of the creatures to put down and ceased looking when she noticed one pacing a fair few metres away from her. "C'mon.." She said, barely audible. The creature started running up to her, she wasn't slow to react, when it got close enough she jumped forward, placing a hand on the back of the creature to propel her the rest of the way, flipping right over the creature, igniting her lightsaber midway through the flip. She landed in a crouched position, turning and facing the creature again, her lightsaber held to the side. The creature charged her again, she adjusted her footing, and at the last moment, stepped to the side as the creature ran past, she slashed her saber up the side of the creature, a howl of pain erupting from the sithspawn.

He could sense his padawan and she was getting a better idea. He was hoping she wore the gloves so that the spines didn't cut her but they would be able to work with it. He stopped the creature when it was on the ground and she was handling her own. There were usually more but this was a big place and he was guessing they were inside. Some beta's going out and hunting while the pack mother is inside with the cubs and some of the larger alpha's in waiting for anything and being lazy. He stopped moving and pointed towards the door. "Keep your guard up and look for the corners or vents. They might be large but they have a thing about getting into crevices."

She smirked and pulled the end of her glove up as the creature fell down. She continued to scan the area for anymore sithspawn lurking nearby her position. She heard her Master tell her to look out for the corners and vents. "Sure thing, how long have these things been here on Hapes?" She asked, her head turned towards her Master as she approached a corner. The over-confident padawan had all her attention in the wrong spot as a creature pounced on her from behind the corner. "Ugh!" She landed with a thud on her back, the sithspawn pinning her down and her lightsaber getting knocked out of her hand as it rolled to the side. She squirmed under the creatures strong hold. It went to bite her head but she moved her head to the right, the creature attempted to do the same thing again, Kalyn avoided it only moving her head to the left this time. The animal then raised its clawed paw in the air as it was about to strike, Kalyn struggled to get her hand out from under the creatures hold to get her lightsaber.

He was thinking of an answer before something pounced on her and was moving quickly. His voice coming out more in a hiss of low words to distract as tuk'ata did know sithese as far as the old tongue went. It could distract him enough before the jedi master was clenching his fist and striking with a ball of compressed kinetic energy and smash him away from being on top of his padawan. The sound of it yelping came to him along with the crack of the kinetite ball as it discharged releasing a strong smash to dent the wall from the impact then bounce along the hallway smashing through the walls. The dark purple energy around it painting the hallway in a glow before he was holding a hand down for his padawan and reaching out to sense any more of the creatures. there were larger things stirring down here they would have to face while he was prepared.

Kalyn rolled onto her side, holding her shoulder as the creature flew to the other side of the cave, the mass of weight being lifted off of her. Her breathing slowed down as the fear washed away from her face, still on the floor with her arm resting on her propped up knee. Her Master held a hand down for her which she gladly took. "Thanks." She said gratefully, dusting herself off. She was annoyed she allowed herself to be caught off guard so easily like that, but she knew not to make the same mistake again in the future. She held her hand out as the lightsbaer flew back into her hand.

He was watching her and she had maintained herself without panic which was a good thing. A time to try and work on things but he was unsure about what else there was here before he was motioning towards the other doors. "Check the rooms to not be snuck up upon." He was ooing to one of the rooms opening it quietly and reaching out with the force as he could feel all fo the energies from other creatures down below in the hangers and storage areas. "THe larger things are down below, I can sense them." There was even the scent in the air but he was careful with it before he spoke. "You handled yourself better then most would. They would have just tried to shake it off without protecting themselves from being bitten and mauled."

She nodded in response to her Master's order to check the rooms. Despite her less experienced set of skills with the Force even she could sense and feel there was a larger threat below where they stood. Her Master then praised her for how she handled herself in the recent event, Kalyn smiled as her spirits were lifted after beating herself up over it, "Thankyou Master Syn." She replied with a curt nod. She continued to scan the rooms for any more creatures, she decided to try using the Force, as her Master had, to determine whether she was alone in the room or not. She reached out with her hand and closed her eyes as she concentrated on locating the creatures. She could sense that they'd been here, but given all the recent ruckus and commotion they'd retreated below, deeper into the cave.

He could sense more of it going into some fo the rooms as the stairwell going down into the lower levels was open. The lift disabled and damaged before he was giving a small look and spoke into the comlink. "The ground level is clear Minerva, your lift is damaged for now. Bring in some turrets with all of the things that you might be able to defend it." He was looking at it to head down as they continued to search throught he rooms to clear them out. He wasn't wanting something to sneak up on them while checking one of the holes that had been done. They got a few things done here but he knew they would have to move down to the lower levels and the jedi master stopped at the stairs looking down. "Be careful, the lights might be out down there but you can see with the force even in the dark. Trust your instincts when you are moving and be quiet but swift."

Although Kalyn wasn't fully comfortable with temporarily losing her sight and relying on the Force completely, she trusted what her Master was telling her, trust your instincts, be quiet but swift. It all sounded so easy when they were at the top of the staircase but as Kalyn descended into darkness she got more and more nervous. She had to fight every muscle in her body to not ignite her saber and gain some sort of light source, or else she might attract more creatures than she could deal with. She wasn't allowing the Force to guide her which is why she was finding it difficult to navigate around the cave, she needed to open up and trust the Force, something she was struggling to do. "I'm gonna crash into a wall." She muttered, not enjoying the current circumstances.

He could hear her as they descended and went down. Stopping as he remained there and spoke from behind her. his senses expanding outwards into the rooms as he could feel all of the creatures here. "Quiet your mind, close your eyes and trust in the force. Allow it to fill your thoughts and then expand outwards. It will show you where metal and life are. it will keep you from hitting the walls just like ti does me." He was blind after all, he did most things guided by the chance he could run into or trip over things so she had a model somewhat of how to see and be able to use the force here in the dark. "Your only danger is your doubt in your own capabilities with the force my padawan."

She looked up at him, both literally and metaphorically. Her Master used the Force majorly to see and navigate through his surroundings, which showed her that it was possible as long as you allow it to be. She washed all negative thoughts about her not being focused enough or skilled enough to do this away, left her mind blank, quiet. She had to somewhat give in to the Force, trust it, and allow it to guide her safely. Her Master then told her the only danger would be her self doubt of her own capabilities. She wasn't going to let herself be her own worst enemy. She closed her eyes and left herself open for the Force to navigate her through the space, trusting her instincts and the will of the Force. Like anyone having their first go at anything, she was shaky, not fully confident with what was happening, slowly though she began to move a little more freely and swiftly, moving around the space.

She was getting it, the force energies were making her brighter in his force vision before he moved back slinking away to move around and allow her to navigate around the area. He could fee it as he focused the force energies to send them outwards so that they would be able to move around. He couldn't see in the force any of the creatures on their level but the darkness was very helpful. It concealed them as well as the creatures but they were not as quiet as the pair of jedi were able to work on many of the things. Wanting to work on it when he opened one of the rooms up and came in where there were some rotting bodies that had been chewed by the tuk'ata leading towards the back of the room and where they had the way to continue down as he could hear the creatures that were deeper down below and in a section of the storage and hanger area. That was guessing how they had been brought in until he opened the door and could look out from a control room to see some larger creatures moving around int he force.

Kalyn was getting the hang of it and could feel the Force guiding her around the space more and more. She could sense her surroundings and what was near and far in context of where she was standing. She continued moving forward and going deeper into the cave. She heard scattering as if the creatures were scurrying into the cave, deeper in. She stood still as she listened to the surrounding noises, once they died down she continued to move forward. She passed the same rotting corpse, her face scrunched up and contorted as the smell of rotting flesh made its way up to her nose. She followed her Master and also noticed the creatures moving around, her grip on her weapon tightened as she prepared for any sudden movement from the wild animals.

He moved over and carefully stood there watching the creatures down below. To get a better idea of what they were or what they were doing. The beasts were moving around but they weren't attacking each other when he opened up the one door so that they would be able to move around up here on the walkways until he could see it. Wanting to get a better view as the scent came from them where he was guessing a larger portion of the base member and defenders had been. There was also he could see with the force and scent armored soldiers with the remains of oil and the power packs. He could look down at the bigger creatures that could sense them and come after them but they weren't able to reach the walkways the two could walk around. "Careful, observe them and watch. The spines on their backs are like razors and poisoned."

Kalyn heeded his warning about the creatures spines, she'd be more careful to avoid that part of the creature at all costs, so that there were no risks to be taken. She continued to move carefully down the pathways, placing one foot in front of the other in a specific manner, not moving too quickly. The two went lower and deeper into the cave as the distance between them and the creatures began to decrease. She observed the creatures that seemed noticeably slightly bigger in size than the last one she'd put down. A few of them paced back and forth, making sounds every now and then as they eyed the pair off, but unable to attack given the location of the two Jedi on the pathway which was out of the creatures reach. She crouched down where she stood to get a better look at their spines, simply curious. She noticed these ones were a lot worse than the one she'd put her hand on. If she'd performed that same manoeuvre on these particular creatures, even with her gloves she would've surely injured herself.

He kept the distance and wasn't planning on descending down to look at the creatures just yet. The best case and idea would be for them to get the hangers opened so there was more space to move around and also a way to lead them into the heavier guns of the waiting Hapens. The jedi master focused while he stopped and tapped his padawan on the shoulder. "Alright, here is the plan. I'll distract them, you go to the control room and get the hanger doors opened. We'll lure them around and pick them off one by one." It was a simple plan and it relied on well them being able to get the doors opened before he got swarmed on the ground. The jedi master took a few moments to let her ask questions or prepare herself and get ready but he was looking down and rising up onto the railing for a moment as he looked for the right place to jump and land.
