Alchemical Revenue

To boldly alchemize what no one alchemized before
"For sure I find that intriguing, too. Then again I heard so many things about ichor that may seem contradictory on some level, sorting out what could be proven or disproven, much less true or not, about them would be a time-consuming exercise"

She had to make sure the necklace's materials, and especially the setting, wouldn't react with kolto, just that Janick had a rather different approach to alchemy compared to other practitioners which, most of the time, were using much more spiritual methods. Let's see: orichalum doesn't seem to react with kolto. But it would no longer be 17,500 credits for the price of it all, more like 22,500. Yet, so long as the work wasn't finished, the billing would not be issued to Sukai either, she thought, realizing that the price of the orichalum necklace and setting caused the cost of the lesson to increase, which she knew would not faze [member="Sky'ito Yumi"] in the slightest, while letting Sukai polish the green crystal. Then again, for the necklace, the chain was the easy part, with the setting proper being the hard part that couldn't be completed before the top part of the crystal was polished: it was a precision job, and a tight-tolerance one at that. It was easy for Janick to say that Force-users trained in the Force later in life were an asset for the betterment of the Force-using world as a whole: she was its living proof.

"Once the crystal is polished, I'll get the setting finished"

Sukai just gave a small nod to [member="Janick Beauchamp"] as she went about cutting the crystal to the precise shape, feeling through the lactic to make sure her hand and blade was straight, the small hum of the sonic knife being the closes noise as the master crafter went about making the necklaces. Though small then her blade she knew that such an item would be expensive, not that is was out of her price range, more that the current spending and her seemingly bottomless pockets may draw attention from others. A bridge to cross when they came to it, fro now she needed to concentrate on polishing the crustal and making sure there where not impurities that would affect it's power. Slowly but surely the custom item began to resemble a priceless emerald, all but a little duller in shade. "I believe that I am finished now, I'll let you do the final check just to be sure, hope my skills have been adequate", she replied, showing Janick the thin hexagonal shaped green crystal, pulsating with the the force.

"Sure" she acknowledged while delicately handling the crystal to check for flaws.

The crystal was pulsating with the Force? The pulsations were, in fact, due to how the Force flowed through it. Now she knew that [member="Sky'ito Yumi"] was able to get the right cut for the crystal, she could get to work getting the setting done into the pendant. That process required a tight tolerance to perform, but for different reasons. She had to make sure her hands were relaxed before the process of getting the setting done could get underway. Once that was done, she began working the orichalum in a very delicate fashion so that she could fashion the crystal setting in such a way that it actually fits the jewel and ensures that it won't fall off the chained pendant. Now that the pendant was over, there would be three items on the invoice: one crystallizer, one pendant and the crystallography lesson. Minus the 500-credit deposit Sukai paid when she last came here. The resulting journal entry being the following: Dr. Cash 22,000, Dr. Unearned revenue 500, Cr. Sales revenue 22,500, she thought, while handing over the finished crystal to the energy vampire, and the bill for all three items.

"The time has come to do the least favorite part of the job: billing. 22,500 credits, with a balance of 22,000 credits still to be paid because that's what you're using the 500-credit deposit for"

Sukai made sure to keep a decent distance away from [member="Janick Beauchamp"] as she worked on the rest of the necklace, her own part of the process seeming to be just as tedious as making the crystal in the first place. 'Perhaps I should learn jewelry smiting in the process, could probably use it for more then just crystal pendant making too, also I could probably put crystals into armor, weapons and other items, similar to what Sasori does with a lot of their own products'. Soon though Janick had finished making the pendent, showing off the new item to the young Jin, it was quite the small masterpiece, "it is quite beautiful, but yes payment". "As said the installment can be used, as for the rest I will have to transfer money over from an account, not really one to keep over 20,00 credits on hand, just give me a second". "Taking a data pad Sukai wire transferred 22,000 over to Janicks account, having gotten the information before hand in preparation for any future lessons". "Would I be able to test the crystal here? just a simple cut and all to observe it's effects and all".

"Oh, sure"

Now that the payment was processed, [member="Sky'ito Yumi"] wanted to make sure it worked, even though there was no warranty of any sort. Yes, it was important for the customers to get their money's worth, and, in exchange for this opportunity, she could sense that the customer would probably want to learn the jewelry smithing process. And she had just the power to teach Sukai how, but she feels that perhaps Memory Rub would be more appropriate to teach first and then have Sukai use Drain Knowledge later to learn the jewelry smithing process. Janick would then have a surprise for Sukai: a power that most people would simply pass over, or otherwise dismiss any use it might have. Especially since most Force-users, light and dark, would rather fight each other head-on, using an array of powers of varying levels of flash, over using guile, mentalism and other items of finesse. But, for the purposes of teaching, she'd rather not perform infusions of knowledge without asking for the student's permission. And also that Sukai had sufficient intellect to withstand the high mental throughputs Janick could achieve using Memory Rub for mental data transfer.

"If you do not have any objection, before you leave, there are a few things I would like you to learn, beyond the crystallography you learned today. Memory Rub is used to teach faster by making alterations to a person's memory, such as infusing knowledge, editing memories or erasing memories. Both Memory Rub and Drain Knowledge have similar pitfalls, if you're using Memory Rub for something other than infusing memories: if the target's memory is better, it's harder to erase memories, accidentally or intentionally"

As [member="Janick Beauchamp"] confirmed the payment Sukai placed the pendent around her neck, feeling the force flow through crystal and around her body. Drawing a small combat knife from her attire, she placed it against her palm, pulling the sharp weapon in a straight line across her white flesh, a slice becoming visible, blood slowly leaking out. In no time though she could see and feel the cut closing up, skin stretching a bit before slowly subsiding , upon wiping the blood away her gaze greeted to a perfectly healed hand. No scar tissue, no sign that the palm had been damaged at all, the rate of healing being several times faster then her own, it was quite a remarkable item, "wow, it works great, I have a feeling this will work well in the future".

Turning back to the master craft woman's she was a little surprised by her offer of more lessons, though Sukai was more then happy to accept more training in her trip to become a Jedi master. "No I do not mind, any way to gain more knowledge and skill is always beneficial, and such skills sound quite useful". "Memory rub I know a bit about it, from what I know its less dangerous the Drain Knowledge as you more looking into their past and learn from then rather then steal their knowledge", will we be learning this today or another time"?

"I usually use Memory Rub to infuse knowledge or to correct misconceptions; although by now I would also teach Drain Knowledge in the same session as I would Memory Rub, I will respect your wish and only teach you Memory Rub, so I may as well infuse the knowledge of Memory Rub into you before you leave"

Feeling that Drain Knowledge was more dangerous than Memory Rub to use was new to her, especially since she knew the pitfalls of both powers being very similar: accidentally removing memories from the target being the main one. [member="Sky'ito Yumi"] would soon get visions flashed inside her mind, while the very same visions were flashing into Janick's, while the witch had to be mindful of her own mental bandwidth as well as of Sukai's as she was infusing the knowledge in question. Now the visions being flashed were those of the knowledge infusion, that is, how to copy-paste mental files from the user to the target, and also how to adjust the procedure to edit mental files in the target and finally deleting those mental files. In fact, included in the rather large data packet being infused is also the caveats of Memory Rub: heightened risks of headaches, especially if the mental bandwidth was too large for the user's own good, accidental removal or corruption of mental memory files... hopefully Sukai won't feel too many headaches from the sheer amount of knowledge Janick infused from her mind to the vampire's.

"Also Memory Rub would enable you to edit a person's mental memory files, much like you would be adding on to them, modify them or even remove them entirely. But you're right in saying that Memory Rub isn't about stealing knowledge"

"It would be easier for me to learn memory rub and get used to it, perhaps I can use the new power for learn drain knowledge from you, a sort of test if we have any more lessons together, would that work for you"?

In her mind such would allow her to test the skill while leaning a new power at the same time, but first things first she needed to allow [member="Janick Beauchamp"] to do the initial knowledge transfer. Leaning back Sukai allowed the woman to touch her mind, flashes and images running all along the mind, seeing to last forever but at the same time finish almost instantly, knowledge on how the mind work, watchmaking Janicks understanding become her own, it was, surreal. Upon finishing the transfer and immense odd feeling engulfed Sukai's body, like someone recovering from amnesia, memories that are new, but have also felt like the where always there., but in this case Sukai knew these where not her own, but implanted ones. Yet, they felt so real, natural, like instantly gaining a skill with full understanding on how it works.

"Wow, that was, very strange, but enlightening, I feel as if I can use this power right away with not trouble". "Thanks you for this new and lesson Beauchamp-sama, I will make sure to use them effective in the future", Sukai replied giving a deep respectful bow to the woman, a small smile on her face, enjoying the recent progression in training.

"You may as well do so now"

To say that [member="Sky'ito Yumi"] would be using Memory Rub in an attempt to learn Drain Knowledge from her was just a natural progression from Memory Rub to Drain Knowledge. So Sukai would get visions of just how much more invasive Drain Knowledge was and what the key differences between Memory Rub and Drain Knowledge were, and those very same visions were, in fact, flashing though Janick's mind as well. And also of those memories she had of being used Drain Knowledge on, by all-too-eager students that learned alchemy through it. And also of the handful of occasions she even used DK herself: she would rather let others use Drain Knowledge to learn from her, and hence having many more memories of teaching Drain Knowledge than of using it stored in her brain, knowing she can do so without any risks of accidentally forgetting anything. Yet she couldn't help but feel that Sukai was more than just a little disturbed by this newfound power over knowledge: now Sukai has a pretty good idea of how it feels to be someone recovering from amnesia. And it seemed that Shusugaunt made her realize just how vast the possibilities really are to her as a mentalist.

"Okay, lets me begin then"

Placing a finger on [member="Janick Beauchamp"] forehead her mind wandered to the woman's past memories, similar to what had happened before but this time herself in control, searching through the present thoughts of drain knowledge and how to use it. What it felt like to be on the receiving end, ways to resist it, along with Janicks own use of the power, draining peoples thoughts and attaining what they know. It was rather strange and forceful, similar to how she would extract blood from others in the past, not something that she would use willy nilly, but at the same time the feeling of such a power was a confidence boots and would have many uses in the future. Slowly the memories faded from her thoughts as Sukai interpenetrated and made the knowledge her own, slowly pulling away from Janicks head, looking over her hands with a newfound interest.

"That was quite the ride, I feel like I know so much now... once more thank you for sharing your knowledge with me, I will no waste what you have bestowed upon me this day".

"Now I believe we have covered everything the fee allowed you to cover"

Even if the estimate made post-Dagobah was correct and that I was, in fact, one in a million from an intellectual standpoint, I know smarts are not the end of the story if I intend to do more mentalism. Now, using a somewhat modified method from Memory Rub, I can overload a person's neurons, or I can force it to relive painful memories by making the memories in question more salient, she thought, while thinking that she could also alchemize her home theater system to allow her to upload memories from sentients, in audio or video form. Now that [member="Sky'ito Yumi"] was ready to leave, she pondered how she could improve her mentalism skills, realizing just how dangerous her mind can be if she actually used mentalism on a regular basis. And also smarts are not the end of the story for a mentalist either. Yes, it dawned on her that Memory Rub was the entry point of nearly all the more advanced mentalism she has in mind: Memory Walk, Neural Storm. Plus she had an idea of how Memory Walk operates, especially since this is about forced usage of mental memory files.

"Yes, I do not reqire anything else at this time, thank you once again Beauchamp-sama, I look forward to any future lessons we may have together".

Giving one last bow Sukai departed from the Alchemist's lab, clusthcing the new item she had froged, but more that that feeling enlightened, strong and just over all impressed with herself. In but a few months she had learned so many new things, battle meditation, these new skill, how to spar better, and so much more. 'At this rate I will be a master in no time, I cannot wait to see mothers reaction, I think I may reaching her skill level already, who know I may surpassed her soon enough'.Climbing into her star fighter the Jin Jedi made a direct course for home, eager to try out her new found powers at the silver rest.
