Alchemy of the Light (Alkahest Training)

Though hardly an easy process, Phylis had it down pat now, and so she repeated the process with Sav.

“This one will allow you to channel more of your defences into protection. It will not help you much now, but as you grow in strength and confidence you will find it more and more useful.”

She had fashioned it into a copper bracelet for the Padawan, though it was a little larger than normal, and could indeed be rehung as a necklace if needed.

And then last to Cessy. However, now she was much closer to the woman, her eye was drawn to the ring the woman wore. She peered at it a close as possible without seeming rude.

“I see you have something there not unlike what we are doing,” she commented.

Nima would find that the fatigue from creation would pass relatively quickly. The item she had would sit nicely on her, feeling quite warm and projecting calm to her.

Both [member="Sav Elko"] and [member="Nima Tann"] were doing so well. Kay wondered if she'd have the right amount of focus to perform the task good enough as well. She had a lot on her mind, with plenty of concerns and worries. Yet she did her best to brush it all aside for now.

[member="Phylis Alince"] soon approached her and Kay knew that it was her turn next. Was it save the best for last? Or the worst? She couldn't remember. Her eyes followed the Jedi Master's gaze and when she had mentioned her having something similar, Kay instinctly clasped her hands in front of her, covering the ring with her other hand. "Yes, my husband made it for me as a wedding present. It isn't my own creation." And both of them had been too busy for her to get a lesson from him. And that was what brought her here today.

Savannah was excited for all of this. She nodded, though, when Master Alince spoke. She knew that her own Force powers were a bit weaker than say, a Master. But it probably wasn’t always going to be like that. She knew that her Master was a bit of a lack-luster Jedi, but he was, in fact, a Jedi Master. He knew what he was doing and he had his own skillset. She, though, that wasn’t her own set. She had displayed things that even Starchaser couldn’t do.

She looked up at the Masters and then back to the instructor for today. She could feel the connection and it was… draining a bit. “Will the bracelet need to be reforged as I grow, or does the Force within it, like… grow with me?”

Biting her lip, the Thyferran looked at the teacher, she had no idea how this all worked. Imbuement did seem to become a temporary thing, at times.

Meanwhile the lecture continued for the two, Nima started to feel more and more relaxed than tired. The presence of the necklace was getting stronger as time passed, just like Phylis said. Nima, wondering how she would feel once she wore it, reached to it. It was still warm but endurable, which worked perfectly for her.

She took the copper necklace from the table and started examining it. It was nothing too fancy, which was fine for Nima as she didn't like to wear too fancy. It would be quite embarrassing. Anyway, after a couple of seconds, she decided to try it.

The necklace fit her perfectly and upon touch, the thoughts in her mind suddenly vanished, and she could feel the calming warmth of the Light Side. She tried to distract herself as an experiment, but she felt more... there. Smiling, she focused on the lecture once again.

Phylis was not one to pry. There was a story here with Cessy, and perhaps her husband's work had piqued her interest. Being a bit of a traditionalist she was not entirely comfortable with Jedi marriages, but she was open minded in letting people work in the way they chose.
"Well, I hope this helps you on your path," she said, nodding.
To Sav next she nodded. "Hmm, well, it remains imbued forever, or practically so. Its power grows with you simply because it merely amplifies and develops what you have already - it does not give you what you do not have already. Think of it like, hmm, a jigsaw puzzle. As you grow in knowledge and understanding the puzzle completes and you can see and use more of it."
She saw that Nima's artefact was working well, and so she turned back and set to work on Cessy's.

"When the time comes I want you to reach out to your family whilst also focusing on the metal. That bond with your husband, your children, is what you will imprint upon the metal. The Force will fill it and act as a channelling conduit to reach them. You will find it easier to reach out to them, but the other way will not be as simple as far as initiation."
It was soon done, and the warm copper was shortly laid before Cessy to take and use.

"Now you have seen it in action, do you have any further questions, going forward? I have prepared some notes which are encrypted on these data cards. I urge you not to let this information fall into the hands of those opposed to the Jedi and the Light, for it could cause great damage if it does."

(Apologies for the lack of colour, browser is mucking up.)

Kay nodded to [member="Phylis Alince"] as she received her instruction. So without closing her eyes, she focused inwards to the bonds that she shared with her husband and their children, watching the liquid metal as it moved in the mould that held it. Her blood was soon injected to it, giving the copper a slightly darker colour, yet beautiful all the same. As the blood mixed, she infused the copper with the Force, allowing it to intertwine with the elements contained with it.

Instead of letting Phylis bend the copper into shape, Kay did it on her own, grabbing the hammer and striking at the metal. She'd seen her husband work in his shop, producing armour for the two of them and weapons for himself. A couple of rings was easier in comparisson.

Soon they were ready to cool. Each ring glimmered with it's own light until they cooled. Kay smiled a little to herself, proud of what she had managed to do. Hopefully they'd work.

Her attention was soon returned to Phylis as the Master gave them warning. Keep the information from Darksiders. Well, she had a special place for that. Not even [member="Veiere Arenais"] knew where she kept his holocron or other precious items of hers. Would she ever tell him? Probably not. No one would know. It was the right place to keep such information, encrypted or not. "I don't have any questions right now. But I'll contact you if something comes to mind. Thank you kindly for the lesson." She bowed her head.

There was a lot that Savannah wasn’t going to know. But she was a bit of a gossip girl back on Thyferra and in school. She liked to be involved in the he-said-she-said because, well, it was fun for her. And she was nosy. Probably why her Master wanted her to try out the Shadow life. She was here so she could be a complete random, not carrying weapons but being a weapon, and making weapons wherever she went. She smiled as the group carried on, and was not paying too much attention to anything going on between Phyllis and Cessy.

This was a light side alchemy lesson, she had nothing to worry about from anyone here. She slipped the cooled bracelet on her arm and smiled up at Master Alince. “That makes a lot of sense.” She nodded. Smiling around, she was starting to feel like she was finding her place around the Jedi.

Biting at her lip, the blonde nodded. “That’s all I can think of right now.”

Both Cessy and Sav created their items with the help of the Jedi Master, and it seemed the lesson was coming to an end. Taking Phylis's warning into consideration, she took the datapad which contained further information about the process from her with a nod. Living at the Kerrigan-Alcori villa, she had her own room and place to keep her items safe, so it wouldn't be a problem.

Nima had a few questions and waited for the lecture to finish first, but then they have already been more or less asked by the others. So, as she thought, the items had some kind of a bond with their owners, growing in power with the person they were bound to. Hmm... That raised another question.

"I have a question." She said, then added. "I know that these items are quite durable, but let's say if they were damaged somehow, would it affect the owner in any way?" Since blood was involved, one would never know.

Only one more question, from Nima.
“Hmm, no. I have not had one of these broken, but I believe there will be no impact. These are not a…what would you say…spirit link. The process is not parasitic though, as you have given so little of yourself to it, losing it will not matter. Now, in theory if there was a substantial piece of spirit and blood infused…perhaps. However, I have not crafted anything which would cause that yet. Hmm.”

She beamed at her students.
“Well, that’s all for now, my dears. Feel free to send me any questions. I would like to have us all reconvene in a few months so if you have any questions or if you would like to learn the next step you can. The one field I strongly suggest you research is smithing. Hmmph, or get someone to do it for you!”

(Apologies for the delay. That’s all for now. I will aim to make the submission to the Factory soon and will tag you into that. If you’d like to do a follow up RP about this in a month or two let me know!)

Kay smiled a little and bowed her head to [member="Phylis Alince"] as she concluded the lesson. Already there was homework. Of course there was. But at least it was something that she was capable of doing. Her husband's workshop was going to be put to good use, besides just sitting there collecting dust during his absence.

She gathered the two rings in her hand and pocketed them. Hopefully they'd work well enough. "Thank you once again. I'll be in touch." Kay bowed her head to the other two students; [member="Nima Tann"] and [member="Sav Elko"] before turning to leave. Of course this wasn't the only lesson that she'd have on such a skill, but it was the first of many. Hopefully those skills would do well for her in the end. There were many challenges being laid in front of her, which was common with someone in her position. With hope she'd be able to come out on top in the end. Learning Light alchemy was a step towards that.

((Thank you muchly! We'll do a follow-up for sure))
