Aadihr let go of Azzie and nodded consent so she could tie the blindfold around his head. Another small sneeze interrupted the gesture, but it was finished soon enough. He appreciates her attempts at levity, but there was no need to lift his spirits - she must be doing so to ease her own nerves. This was already a happy moment for Aadihr and he needed no reprieve from the emotions he felt, he already had all the comfort and support he needed.

“I couldn’t let you wander around looking like some scruffy, rag-wearing street monk forever. You’ve got an image to uphold.”

"I do have an image to uphold - and it is that of a scruffy, rag-wearing street monk. This better not be some garish color or have something written on ink on the front or I will find out and get payback." He said in a playful tone, knowing already from its psychometric memory that her words were true and no prank was played.

Aadihr felt the presence of Jonyna Si Jonyna Si approach, seeking Azurine Varek Azurine Varek so he politely stepped back, instead watching the glow of her aura brighten further as they talked.

“That reminds me I actually do have something to give you Padawan Braze. It’s still on my ship however. Hmmm… Hopefully Darwin didn’t find it and is chewing on it now as we speak…”

"Oh yeah? I wonder what it could be. Thank you for the thoughtful gesture regardless," Braze chirped as he swung the instrument over his shoulder. He made a mental note to ask Jalen Kai'el Jalen Kai'el to teach him how to play a song or two—something he was suddenly curious to try.

Politely excusing himself, he went off to deliver a wreath to Jonyna Si Jonyna Si and Tibera Jessen Tibera Jessen . From there, he made his way to fetch some hot chocolate, preparing two cups with an extra layer of marshmallows piled on top. Once the drinks were ready, he brought one over to Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el and A'Runda A'Runda with a bright grin.

"Here, try this!" he offered enthusiastically, handing over the steaming cup.

"Is this for me?"

"Of course it is," Jasper nodded. "Consider it a... family tradition. I handmade a hallikset for each member of my family. Even if you never wind up playing it."

It wasn't long before Jasper was handed a cup, of which he examined the steaming liquid held within. Hot chocolate. A soft grin played across the Master's face. He took a sip, hardly even taking note of the heat. It was as though his tongue was immune to the sensation.

"Good," he nodded. "I'd add a little heat to it though. The spicy kind. It enhances the flavor."

Azurine snorted, holding up her hands in mock innocence. "I promise, no garish colors, no cheesy slogans. That material is much too important to me to use in some elaborate prank."

And so are you, the thought went through her brain, but thankfully, she managed to keep it from coming out of her mouth. The soft pink flush of her cheeks, however, came anyway.

Her attention flicked to the glow of Jonyna’s approach, her grin never seeming to fade. "Happy Life Day, Jonyna!" She said, tilting her head toward Aadihr and then back to the master. "Looks like it's my turn for the surprise show. Now I feel kind of bad that I didn't bring the rest of the gifts I put together with me."

Azzie’s breath caught as she opened the box, her eyes widening in disbelief. For a long moment, she just stared, like if she blinked too quickly, the treasures inside might vanish. Then her fingers brushed over the pristine Bucky Stardust pistol, reverently tracing the sleek lines. She picked up the Lazerdisc set, her hand trembling slightly. Excitement mixed with the shock in her eyes.

“Jonyna…” Her voice was softer than usual, stripped of its usual bravado. “How—how did you even find this?”

A small, bittersweet smile tugged at her lips as she glanced down at the familiar title. Memories she thought she’d buried surged to the surface. “My dad and I used to watch this together when I was little,” she said, unable to hide the mix of emotion in her voice, addressing both the master and Miraluka, “Before… before everything happened. We'd act out scenes sometimes—he always let me be Bucky, even though I've never been a very good shot."

Azzie laughed faintly, but there was a catch in her throat. After her father died, and she became a rebel, she didn’t think she's ever see this again. Especially not now, 900 years later. Her gaze flicked up to meet Jonyna’s. For all Azzie’s fiery energy, there was something raw and vulnerable in her gaze. She set the Lazerdisc set down carefully, then closed the distance between them in a heartbeat, throwing her arms around Jonyna in a fierce jumping hug. “Thank you so much!"

Excitement flared through her amethyst eyes, making them swim with shades of purple like a forming nebula, and she turned to Aadihr with a sparkle in her eyes. She grabbed his hand and tugged at it excitedly. "It might be ancient for you, but you should join me and Jonyna for a marathon!" She exclaimed and then realized she hadn't really introduced the two yet as her eyes flitted between them. "Oh, yeah, Aadihr, this is Master Jonyna Si!"

"I've been thinking about what I'd like to give you for Christmas. I'd really like to give you something that just fits your own wishes and needs the way these shoes just fit me. I suppose the thing I'd like most to be able to give you is hope."

"I had to go digging around the Outer Rim. Turns out, folks on Ryloth don't exactly throw stuff away, sometimes they just shove it in a shed and forget about it. Had my boys at Si Tech do a bit of restoration, but the desert does wonders at keeping stuff like that preserved." Jonyna's smiled shined like a star. "I got the whole series back on the Reaper as well. It was...something I found for myself back when I was running for my life as a kid. A small comfort to remind me what heroes look like. Even if Bucky was never a jedi." She chuckled, that laugh of a woman who had been through hell, and survived. "Just be careful with it. It's just as old as we are." She teased, giving Azzie a slight punch on the shoulder, before looking over to the fellow knight.

Her face shifted from jovial, to slight confusion before she put the piece together. "Ah, a Miralukan. Don't see your kind every day. Sorry for the stare, I'm sure you get it often. Just took me a moment to realize." She offered a handshake to the man, and a smile. "Jonyna Si, Sentinel of Harmony. Not to be confused with Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el over there, my predecessor."

Braze stepped forward and gave Jasper a tight hug as soon as he finished handing out the wreaths. He lingered for a moment before pulling back, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

"Uh… there's crushed peppermint candies and marshmallows," he mumbled, glancing off to the side. "Didn't think to put out any hot peppers."
He carefully slid the instrument off his shoulder, turning it over in his hands with a newfound curiosity. His fingers traced along its edges, pausing to admire the intricate details he hadn't fully noticed before. Braze glanced down at it, then back up at Jasper, a touch of awe in his expression now that he understood it was crafted by Jasper's own hands.

"It's really, really pretty," he said earnestly, his voice soft with admiration. "I like the blue details a lot."

He hesitated for just a moment, then added with a small, genuine smile, "You have very nice handiwork, Papa."

Aadihr shook Jonyna Si Jonyna Si 's hand in greeting, accepting the welcoming gesture.

"Ah, a Miralukan. Don't see your kind every day. Sorry for the stare, I'm sure you get it often. Just took me a moment to realize."

"No apologies necessary, I still haven't seen a cathar such as yourself." Aadihr joked, then continued with a bow " A pleasure to meet you, Jonyna, I am Aadihr Lidos, wanderer of worlds and waster of years."

Aadihr also memorized the signature of Jasper, putting the face to the radiant aura.

"That seems to be a very thoughtful gift for Azurine Varek Azurine Varek , she shines through the force as she looks at it."

Azurine glanced down at the piece Jonyna had handed her, marveling at the craftsmanship and history embedded in its design. "The Outer Rim does have a knack for hiding treasures like that, myself included." She said, her tone lightly teasing but tinged with genuine admiration. "Guess it's fitting—something old, forgotten, and tougher than a rancor clawing its way back from near death. Feels right."

Her fingers brushed against the item, tracing its contours with a reverence that felt almost uncharacteristic. She didn't speak immediately, the weight of what Jonyna had shared lingering in her mind. "A small comfort to remind me what heroes look like." Those words echoed in her thoughts.

Heroes. Azzie wasn’t sure if she fit the description, despite everything she'd done to help the galaxy in her short life. Especially not by the standards of the era she's found herself in, but Jonyna’s gesture made her think that maybe, someday, she'd get there.

"Old as we are," Azzie shot back with a loud laugh and a grin, nudging Jonyna in return. "Speak for yourself! I don't know about you, but I’m still in my prime and looking pretty kriffing good if I say so myself." She teased, flexing playfully. "Thank you. I'll make sure it's kept somewhere safe."

When Jonyna turned her attention to Aadihr, Azzie leaned back, observing the exchange with curiosity and joy. "Don't let him fool you, I swear he can see better than I can half the time! It's not every day you meet someone who can see without seeing," she added, tone light but full of respect, tilting her head toward Jonyna. At the mention of Aadihr’s 'title,' she let out a low chuckle. "Waster of years. That’s one way to put it, Mister self-proclaimed scruffy street monk." She crossed her arms, her grin widening. Her amethyst-colored gaze moved to Jonyna, excited at the fact that the two seemed to be getting along well enough.

As Aadihr remarked on her connection to the artifact, Azzie glanced down at it again, momentarily caught off guard by his words. Shines through the Force? She felt a warmth creep up to her cheeks, threatening to betray her usual composure. She turned the toy over in her hands, focusing on its details as though it might somehow shield her from it, her mind quickly dismissing it as just a genuine observation. "Well, I guess you're just going to have to sit down with us old-timers and watch it so you know why it's this awesome, right, Jonyna?" She cracked a quick joke in response. "Don't worry; technically that blindfold is over 900 years old as well, so you'll fit right in."

"Hey, I'm not exactly over the hill myself." Jonyna chuckled. "Just wait till you get to Episode 16. That's the best episode of the first season. You remember that backflip Rosa did? Sylvar, that's the kinda moves I wish I could do on a good day." She chuckled, "I'd be happy to host a movie night if you don't mind my raggedy old ship." Jonyna smiled, looking to the knight. "You have Force Sight? I mean...yeah, given your species, that makes sense. I ran into one of your kind back in the day, great guy, always took me off guard how much he saw that I didn't see. I could out hear him though, so we traded back and forth. I take it you're a Wayseeker then? Like Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el ?"

"Wayseeking might be a bit too formal and, well, charitable term for it." Aadihr admitted bluntly. He had been fleeing instead of seeking in those years.

"And yes, force-sight typically makes up for my lack of eyes - not when it comes to watching ancient Lazerdiscs, sadly. Just audio dramas and a bit of recreational far-seeing for me." Aadihr smiled, not really feeling left out on something he never grew up with. "Would your hearing be due to your cathar hearing, or have you honed a means of enhancing it through the Force as well?" He probed, curious if Jonyna Si Jonyna Si had honed her natural senses in tandem with her Jedi training like Aadihr had. He wasn't entirely sure how a rebellion-era Jedi apprenticeship would affect any shared experience.

"As for you, Azurine Varek Azurine Varek I'll take your word on your appearance," the Miraluka teased, trying to ease any potential embarrassment from the Zabrak regarding the watch-party invitation."Maybe I can sit and just listen along, if that's alright with you."

"You have very nice handiwork, Papa."

"I've had a bit of practice," Jasper remarked with a grin. "I can teach you how at some point."

He may as well, right? It was a family tradition.

"I need to find my hallikset," he mused, scratching at his chin. "I haven't been able to sit down and play it in a while... Not since Jalen was younger..."

Braze leaned into Jasper's side, nuzzling him with quiet affection. "I'd like that," he said softly, a hint of curiosity sneaking into his voice. "Maybe you could show me the first songs you played for him too?"

The thought made Braze's chest feel a little gooey and warm in a way he wouldn't admit out loud. Gift-giving, especially handmade gifts, was a language of love he understood well and held close to his heart. It was personal—something that said more than words ever could.

This gesture, Jasper sharing a piece of something so meaningful, felt like being welcomed into that same quiet, personal space. And it made Braze feel something close to belonging.

Azurine opened her mouth to say something else, but all that came out was a quick strangled noise. The pink in her cheeks quickly took over her whole face and turned a much brighter shade of crimson. Aadihr couldn’t see holographic projections ... one of the few things—at least so it seemed—that he couldn't see. She knew this by now! And she'd made the mistake in front of Jonyna as well, of all people!

Shit.

Her violet eyes shifted quickly to the ground, one hand rising to brush away her hair behind her ear while the other clutched at the talisman around her neck. She was so used to him moving and acting like he could see without a problem that sometimes the limitations of Force sight just went completely over her head. And now, she had shoved her foot so far down her mouth that she'd be surprised if it hadn't already come out of her butt.

"Stars, I really did just make an ass of myself, didn't I?" She muttered under her breath, though she chuckled and pushed forward the best embarrassed grin she could. She sure hoped she could salvage this one, and he seemed pretty keen on helping her do it too, which she greatly appreciated. "For the record, you’re not getting out of it that easy. I’ll describe every move if I have to—consider it your very own personal commentary track. The company’s what makes it fun, anyway. If you’re up for it, we can make it work." She winked, the edge of her sarcasm tempered by genuine enthusiasm that persisted even then. Stubborn and steadfast as ever.

Turning her gaze to Jonyna, her smirk softened into something a little more earnest. “But yeah, you know what? A movie night on a ‘raggedy old ship’ is just the kind of vibe I could get behind. Sometimes, I miss falling asleep to the sound of engines. That, and your ship is beautiful—I’ve hung around in cargo holds of really rundown, dank, ships more times than I care to count, so I would know."

"I can always crack the audio and let you just listen to it. I've got some pretty sweet speakers. And no, I don't have Force Sight. I..." She paused, considering how to explain this. "I've trained myself to work as one with nature. That includes the air, and well...I've made it so I can extend my sense of touch beyond my body. Through the wind, I can feel an entire street if need be. My cathar ears do help with that, but I've learned not to rely on them too much. Hearing is a fickle sense, it can be fooled."

Aadihr simply smiled at Azzie's embarrassment and rapid recovery. He let the silence speak for him for a moment, noncommittally nodding at the proposed invitation. "Don't worry about it, I don't expect you to know every intricacy of how my perception works." Accented with a warm smile.

As for the Master, the way she described extending her senses seemed fascinating, almost impossible for Aadihr to imagine. "I can't imagine what it would be like to feel or hear an entire street - the noise would drive me mad. When you extend your senses, are you still 'anchored' to your body? Like expanding a radius of sensation" Aadihr asked, wondering what non force-visual Clairvoyance would feel like. If one could un-anchor themselves and hear a faraway place could lead to a nasty eavesdropping habit, Aadihr decided.

Braze glanced at Jasper with a sheepish grin, "Oh yeah, I better do the raffle," he muttered, suddenly remembering his duties. Fetching a nearby chair, he climbed up carefully, balancing his small frame as he tapped his mug with a spoon to draw everyone's attention. The soft clinking sound rippled across the room, bringing the chatter to a gentle hush.

"Thank you all for coming," he began, his voice warm. "And thank you for the wonderful gifts you've brought. Each one of you has helped make this Life Day a little brighter—not just here, but across the galaxy. Every toy and every donation will find its way to someone who needs it, someone who might not have had a reason to smile this season. You've made that possible, and I'm so grateful for it."

Braze paused, letting his words settle before gesturing toward the gleaming bucket brimming with raffle tickets. With a mischievous smile, he leaned down and gave it an exaggerated swirl, the tickets inside sloshing noisily.

"Now, for the moment you've all been waiting for—the raffle!" he declared, his excitement infecting the crowd. "Let's find out who's taking home these amazing prizes tonight!"

He reached into the bucket with dramatic flair, fishing out a ticket and holding it high as he squinted at the number. Clearing his throat, he announced the first winner:

"For the Luxury Yacht: Sun Chaser Yacht... Congratulations to Azurine Varek Azurine Varek ! You'll be cruising the stars in style."
He reached back in to the bucket and swirled it around.

"Next, the Massive Plushy Dragon Pillow from the Eggamles toy line goes to... Jonyna Si Jonyna Si ! Enjoy your new lounging buddy—it's a one-of-a-kind!"

He paused dramatically, swirling the bucket again.

"For the Custom Designer Tailored Outfit... the winner is A'Runda A'Runda ! I can't wait to see what you do with it."

Braze chuckled, already imagining the Tusken's reaction as he pulled the next ticket.

"The Luxury Battle Speeder: Deluxe W.A.R.T.O.R.T.L.E goes to... Aadihr Lidos Aadihr Lidos ! May your travels be fast and stylish!"

Another round of cheers filled the room as Braze dug deep into the bucket, shaking it one last time.

"And finally, the Mystery Crate goes to Colette Colette ! I hope it's full of surprises as unique as you are."

Braze hopped down from the chair, his grin wide as he held out the empty bucket with a dramatic flourish.

"Thank you all again for being part of something so special tonight. Your generosity and kindness are what make this season truly magical. And to our winners—congratulations! Let's keep the celebration going and make this a Life Day to remember!"

He lifted his mug in a toast, "To all of you, and to the joy we've shared tonight—Happy Life Day!"

Azurine tilted her head slightly, her gaze catching a sliver of light as her amethyst eyes fixed on Aadihr with curiosity. She crossed her arms, leaning against the nearest surface with the kind of relaxed ease that only barely concealed the blazing flare of interest in her expression. Her gaze flicked between Jonyna and Aadihr, measuring the weight of their words.

"No shame in working with what you've got, but that just means you'll be forced to listen to my overly dramatic commentary." Her tone, while light, carried just enough edge to make it unclear if she was joking.

Azzie shifted, uncrossing her arms to gesture with a gloved hand. "Anchored or not, I’d think it depends on how much trust you’ve got in what’s real around you? Feels like if you’re reaching that far, you’re only as steady as the storm you’re standing in, right?" Her fingers brushed the metal of the talisman around her neck idly, a habit she often fell into after she'd received it. "I’ve fought people who’d kill for something like that, though. It would be a dangerous edge if you can keep it grounded."

Before she had the chance to say any more, her attention was drawn to Braze as he got up on a chair to discuss the raffle that she had honestly completely forgotten existed. Hell, she really hadn't known there was one in the first place. She had spent credits on metal to make the carved starships and all that time doing it specifically for others. She just wanted to do something nice with the skills she had. So, when she heard her name called for a ship of all things—not just a ship, a yacht—she stood in almost stunned silence. She had been wanting her own ship for so many months now, and the idea that she didn't have to attempt to finance something on her own anymore made her eyes sparkle with so much gratitude.

"Hey, maybe we can hold movie night on the Sun Chaser, then! Break it in a little bit." Azzie laughed, partly making the suggestion as a joke but also overjoyed at the idea of getting to use and share it.

Holy crap, my own ship... finally!

"Sorta anchored, yeah." She explained. "It's like...having hairs that extend out. You don't really think about it that way, but it's probably the best way to describe it." She couldn't help but chuckle, but that was how it felt. An extension of her fur, allowing her to feel further than she could normally. "Takes a lot of concentration, but when I can do it, it's pretty handy."

The woman paused, having mostly forgotten this was a charity raffle, and not a holiday party. "Oh that's....a big plush. I'm gonna have to talk to Jenn Kryze Jenn Kryze about where to put that on the ship..." She muttered to herself, hoping her girlfriend wouldn't mind the massive plush toy she had just won...

Hey, this lemonade thing was pretty tasty. Sour and yet instead of merely sweet it had a salty undertone to it too. Colette filled up a whole cup of the thing and brought it over to the crowd when the winners were announced.

Azurine got her own ship, very expensive!
Jonyna got a massive teddy bear, very cute.
A'runda got a custom designed tailor, very stylish.
Aadihr got a battle speeder, very fast! And expensive!

And finally…

Colette got a cr- wait! That was her! Colette jolted awake. Her eyes widened as she realized that the piece of paper she had taken upon entry was her ticket for the raffle. Not that she had issue with being part, the odds of winning always seemed so small, and yet every time she had entered one she had won.

First a really expensive guitar-thing, and now a mystery crate full off… Well, what?

"I'll uh—" Colette stammered at Braze's announcement. "I'll take that as a compliment, Braze."

She put her cup to her lips and began to look around. It had taken her ages to be okay with how expensive her guitar was. A whole crate of something was… A whole crate of something. That was a lot! Her grip around her cup tightened and grew pale.

This was… Bad.
