- Artillery Walker: Mounted on the walker's back is a massive high-caliber mass driver cannon, capable of punching a hole through several layers of armor plating on a direct hit. However, to use the cannon the walker has to brace itself in a stationary position and line up the shot, as an incorrect firing can cause the walker to tip over backwards.
- Anti-Vehicle Cannons: The vehicle's head is outfitted with two chin-mounted fire-linked heavy laser cannons, two cheek-mounted twin medium laser cannons, and four pop-up multi-missile launchers, all of which are more geared towards destroying other vehicles than repelling infantry.
- Slow: The artillery walker is heavier than its three predecessors, and thus is slowly when walking across land. This exceedingly slow, methodical gait leaves the AT-AW firmly in the rear of any advancing army where its long-range artillery cannon can be put to the most use.
- Top Heavy: The AT-AW looks quite awkward with its bulbous head and its relatively thin and spindly legs, with the head weighing more than the legs. This makes the walker rather top-heavy, and more susceptible to falling if ensnared by tow cables.
Previously the Sith Empire relied on artillery vehicles from Corondex Arms during ground operations involving dug-in enemy positions, and in accordance with the new edict of self-sufficiency the architects in the Corps of Engineers were commanded to come up with their own solution.
That solution became the All Terrain Artillery Walker.
Primarily a massive long-range mass driver cannon mounted on a set of legs, the Artillery Walker would stalk the rear fields behind the advancing Imperial Legion; pounding distant enemy fortifications to dust with creeping barrages and concentrated strikes. When threatened by the enemy, the walker could retaliate with powerful vehicle-busting laser cannons mounted right under the cockpit. Because of its lack of anti-infantry weaponry, it was often escorted by the smaller AT-A/RW.
