- Firepower: The AT-HAW, unlike its smaller cousin, possesses a wide array of weapons to better carry out its purpose as an assault walker. All of the weapons are mounted on the front of the walker, and can take care of infantry, light vehicles, and barricades with relative ease.
- Strong Legs: Advancements were conducted to improve upon the weaker legs of the AT-A/RW, and the Heavy Assault Walker has a more versatile leg design with better gyroscopic instruments and tougher armor. This spares the walker from being felled by a missile or even heavy laser fire, but not much can save it from the tried-and-tested method of tow cables and speeders.
- Rear Blind Spot: The head of the HAW is massive, and all of its weapons are mounted towards the front of the cabin. This prevents the operators from focusing on any threat that might manifest itself from their flanks or rear unless they manually turn the whole walker around.
- Binocular Vision: Doubly so, the HAW's cockpit orientation only provides a field of view that incorporates everything in front of the walker, not giving much room for the pilots to visually watch their peripheries without the aid of their onboard sensors.
From the foundries of Kol Huro, a new race of Imperial walkers emerged to spread the tyranny of the Sith Empire to distant star systems. The first of these legged behemoths was the All Terrain Heavy Assault Walker, the technological successor to the All Terrain Assault/Reconnaissance Walker.
Larger and more ferocious than its smaller counterpart, the AT-HAW's sole purpose is to pierce through enemy defensive lines and support smaller walkers and infantry regiments in overpowering enemy fortifications. It achieves this through the sheer quantity of weapon systems mounted on the front of the walker, all of which can tear apart soldiers, small vehicles, and barriers and lesser fortifications without breaking a sweat.
Through not as swift or maneuverable as its smaller predecessor, the AT-HAW made the perfect front line assault walker when placed against infantry and small vehicles.
