All That Glitters [Emilia and Juwiela]

He laughed at her words, and his own fall into a solumn disposition. For reasons only known to Théo, he had had regrets for his own with the death of his grandfather, who he still missed greatly. That pain is still very real and recent and he wondered if more could have been done to save him that day, or that he could have spent more time with the man Théo holds as his hero. "I am sorry", he said, she did not need to hear his soul bared.

"I am throwing you in the deep end aren't I", he realised he had push her to prove a point, but still if she could see and feel what the use of the force was like, even just for a moment, this girl might consider it to be a part of her life rather then something to be ignored. Why she did, he did not know. Maybe she was afraid of it, or it could have been as simple as she did not recognise it as such, it did not really matter. But if he could convince her to at least use it to protect herself that would be a great thing, he liked her, she is alright.

Théo sensed her frustration, they all go through this sensation and he smiled. "I am going to ask of you something more something impossible ..", he looked at her with a cheeky grin. "Just relax". Considering their set of circumstances it was a silly thing to ask, but lets see? "Try and clear your mind of any thoughts, especially of those I have put there to confuse you. You can do this you know, Slim". He took her hand once more and positioned it again. "Close your eyes if you need too, and picture the stone there and imagine your hand scooping it up off the ground. Use your mind to reach for it .. ".

"It doesn't matter if you don't", he said in a whisper.

Her frustration was growing until she heard his words and blinked as he said he was sorry. Those were words she had never head before as everyone blamed mistakes on the girl with no past and with no real future to look forward to. To most she was a being that could be used for cheap labor and never complain as she had no right to. It wasn't like she had family or anyone that needed her and when you didn't have that you had to learn fast about the world less you be left behind in it as nothing more than property. So when those words hit her, when he was taking blame for it her words and actions that followed were instinctive as she shook her head and didn't know why she was taking credit for being a failure in something he made sound like it should be easier.

"No you don't need to be sorry, im sure im just doing something wrong, please don't worry about it as im sure that i can get it right..." Her voice had come out soft, not wanting to sound like she was being commanding and more trying to get him to not see her as a burden. She knew that he was the only reason she would be able to get out of her alive and if she made him angry it would be like condemning herself to death. As far as she knew, human beings were cruel and greedy, they would throw away the lives of others if it meant living themselves. She didn't want to be one of those abandoned victims.

So when he spoke again and told her to focus on relaxing, it was like trying to shed her own skin as he spoke and when he smiled she flinched. Her mind had been so focused on him abandoning her in this cave if she failed that she found it like pushing a boulder when it came to relaxing, and when she couldn't relax she worried more. He wasn't even someone that she really knew, but she was desperate to live, to keep living. Something inside her wanted to live and she wanted to be of atleast one use to him so that she didn't get abandoned down here in the dark. Alone and forgotten like the caves themselves.

Theo's brows pulled together in a frown. It was not because she could not do what he asked, or that she could not focus on it enough to be able to, but from the emotions welling up from within the girl, left to his sense to pick up on with ease as she is unable to block or shield them from him. It was like she felt that her failure was somehow reflected to his own and that he would be displeased with this and her for it. Yes, it was his failing but not because of her directly, but his inability to explain to her which only reflected his lack of experience in training someone. But this place was not conducive to such things and he decided that was mostly the cause.

He did not know of this girl or her past, that was not an open book to him and so this could be explored at a later date. "No", he said stopping her with a hand resting on her arm. "Stop, I am asking too much of you especially in this place. But I just wanted to show you what you could be, what you could do if given the chance". But this might not be want she wanted in life.

"You know you could be great, if you only believed", he said nothing more but stood up and turned to look around the cavern once more. "I think it time to move on, we will never get out of here othewise". He felt somewhat energised from their break although his ribs still ached. Theo closed his eyes and pulled out through the force, seeking their way out once more.

"This way, and then .. up". He turned to face Emilia again with a smile. Up was going to prove tricky.
