All Your Cortosis Belong to Us (Ask first)

Time
That was a question that was all too often asked.
How long will I live?
How long will I cheat death?
How long until the ther guys beats me?
They were the most asked questions by organics.
It was important.
That was the main reason that Ultimatum was preparing to collect Cortosis. Bespin was his target. He was constantly having to upgrade his programming, keep building better bodies. All in order to keep ahead of the organic Force-users. They were his enemies, they would all try to stop him at some point, Sith, Jedi, all between. They were his greatest foes and occasionally his allies.

And that, that was why Ultimatum stood on a platform outside the spaceport on Bespin, waiting for the people he had contacted. Two others had been interested in his plan and he had been willing to accept the help, if only to augment the success probability. He was certain they would show, the reward for success was at least a pleasant ten kilograms of Cortosis for each of them. At best, perhaps fifty kilograms. Failure would result in their arrest and imprisonment on Bespin for probably five years, but the reward was too great a chance to give up, Ultimatum thought.

This one was off the books. Yes despite being a Silver Jedi, Republic Army and among other things, Vassara still did her shady deals from time to time. So long as all roads pointed to the destruction of the OS it was not an issue. She had arrived on the tides of good fortune, Captaining the Void Runner. A ship with quite a powerful stack of abilities.

For a while Vassara had hung back, scoping the place out. Every good spacer knows you have to look, listen and feel things out before you dive in.

When Ultimatum had arrived she was there to meet him. A synth flesh mask covered her face, and Bespin Port authority uniform clung tightly to her curves, all in navy blue. Vassara winked at Ultimatum, and gave a curt nod. It was a signal to the droid. I am friend not foe.

"Emma Rose here, at your service Mr.Ultimatum."

She chuckled inside, decption was sooo easy. Of course during times like these Vassara never used her real name, and always had a disguise. This time she carried only her lightsaber, tucked away in the uniform and a standard stun baton. Had to look the part too right?

Tazi's Machines was ever growing and the need for rare materials was a constant. He had managed to source an oppurtunity to get some cortosis, and that is what he planned to do.

Cadan had arrived a few minutes late, something to do with not being able to bring spice through the customs? But giving someone enough money can help them turn a blind eye to that sort of thing.

The pirate eventually made it to the two. He clear his throat and began to speak. "Cadan 'ere, so is Sunshine." As he said the words 'Sunshine' his right hand fell to the hilt of his DL-18 blaster pistol which hung by his right thigh.

Cortosis was an ore, right? the weequay knew little of it other then that it was something everyone wanted. Good to make weapons of and the cartel always paid good for these kinds of things. So he figured he would take the job he had heard about. A creature...? A droid called Ultimatum. Again a name he did not know much about but he was guessing he was about to learn more about this new player very soon.

Ka-Aver stepped out on the platform to join the others. He nodded to [member="Cadan Tazi"]

"Bozz," he greeted and turned to [member="Ultimatum"]

"My blade iz here Ultimatum. Lead the wayz..." he grinned and leaned on his two handed vibro glaive winking at the massive droid.

Hidden in the shadows, stood a man a head taller than the average male. Clad in his Inquisitor X-1, over which was his Cloak of Nuun. Of course he was armed with Tantibus, Kalligs Scorching Saber, his Gunbelt, an assortment of grenades and ammo, and lastly three Betty Blasters.

Draping the Cloak around himself, he hid mostly from view but only so much as to be annoyingly hard to detect. If someone glanced his way they would see parts of his chest and a head. That's it.

He was here to help a being that had been an aid on Ryloth.

[member="Ultimatum"]

Very good. Everyone had shown up, which was a definite start. Now they had to begin the planning stage. He had a basic strategy, but had intentionally left out large portions of details because of the fact that there would be four people, almost all of which were variables that would need to be defined and expanded on before the specifics of a proper plan could be put into play.

There was a customary spaceport cantina nearby, a perfect place to conduct covert talks without the too much danger of being overheard. However, there was a better place... Ultimatum had found that occasionally the best defense to being infiltrated was simply to keep things simple, he held out three small ear comms. The range of which was not unusually large or small and the frequency of the message was unique allowing for almost complete security so long as one did not fall into the wrong hands.

"It is good to see each of you. I hope that this will be a profitable endeavor for all involved. Now if everyone would like to step outside we may begin the planning stage." He turned and began walking towards the exit, though before that he stepped to [member="Damien Daemon"] and nodded, handing over a fourth ear comm. This was going to be a good exercise in operations. He needed more experience in the field, on top of all that he already did.

Damien silently accepted the com, and placed it into his ear. It was unlikely though that such a device would be useful for himself, or even necessary. Utilizing his Force Shadow he could keep it near Ultimatum, and hear everything the Droid said as if it was directly into his own ear. While simultaneously being abroad and useful.

Stepping from the platform on which they began, Damien murmured, "So how big is the haul? If we do succeed, which is likely, I say we go for the big bucks. Go big or go home." After the words left his mouth, he fully encircled himself in the Cloak which immediately dropped him from the sight of others completely. Moving to a stack of crates nearby he began to scale them, before at the last moment utilizing Telekinesis to launch straight upward. Landing atop a roof overlooking the platform, he awaited instructions.

Cadan nodded in returned to [member="Ka-Aver"], what was he doing here? That was something he would have to ask later on. To be honest Cadan was glad some familiar company was about him.

The pirate then reach out and grab an ear piece, he then place it comfortably in his ear hole. Although the lack of an ear made it hard to keep the thing inside it. "Testin', testin', one, two three." Cadan spoke into the ear piece, maybe a little too loudly as he tested it.

Cadan began to walk behind [member="Ultimatum"], his once brown trench coat floating behind him, the dirtied, bloodied and shot up coat looked like it would be better suited to mopping stains off the floor instead of actually being worn. For a second Cadan though he saw someone walking next to him except now he seemed to have dissapeared. "Must of had to much spice last night." Cadan though to himself.

Merely accepting the ear piece Ka-Aver followed suit. He was here to earn some credits and in the long run perhaps even a positive favour from the cartel boss present.
He walked behind the rest trying to figure this [member="Ultimatum"] guy out. He was an impressive construction.
A droid or perhaps a cyborg? Hard to tell, but he believed this was just the sort of advanced thing that the cartel was actually looking for.
He made a mental note to tip of the engineers in the white palace of this .... person...

Vassara was turning out to like these covert ops. She had so much experience in the field of being sneaky it was mind boggling. Multiple raids on Sith and Fringe space alike with the Underground. She had stolen Stygium crystals from Red Raven territory, right before they collapsed. She had robbed a Sith planet of Phrik, without firing a shot. This would be no different. The good thing about being a Spacer is you become good at observing things and finding the right people to ask the right questions.

The good part about being a Rogue forcer? Persuading those people to give you information you might not other wise have. Not wanting to blow her cover, Vassara slammed the earpiece in and stalked off making her way back towards the landing pads, filtering in with a contingent of guards.

"Papers please!" She said, holding out her hand. The guards were buying it, why not too? Her uniform was within regulation. She had ironed it after she had knocked the original owner out and stashed the body in an access corridor somewhere.

In the comms she spoke softly, holding the papers to her face.

"Alright team, here's the deal. This port is the major exporter of Cortosis. After 1700 local time these pads go off limits, and only cargo freighters under contract are allowed down here. The Cortosis is wheeled down on armored hover carts, guarded by four individuals with heavy armor. Two repeaters, two scatterguns."

Vassara handed the papers back to the nearby pilot, smiling.

"That being said, we can either smash and grab, or play it cool, suit up as pilots. I'll let you onto my landing pad, we load the cart and fly off as if nothing was wrong."

Ultimatum thought for a moment, Bespin was a large center for transporting Cortosis. That meant that probably large quantities would be obtainable, however it was a question of how much could be nabbed before security was tightened sufficiently to halt their attempts. He planned on only a single run to grab a shipping container's worth, the most that could be collected in one go.

He was about to reply to [member="Damien Daemon"] when his thought was interrupted by a loud burst of speech over the comms. [member="Cadan Tazi"] was making certain they worked, it was very effective. Too much so, Ultimatum tuned down the volume for a moment before he raised it back to normal in time to hear [member="Vassara Raxis"] comment on the security of the station. His mind began calculating possible solutions as he spoke.

"Okay, so far the plan is to take as much as we possibly can. One armored hovercar should have plenty for everyone. Rose, good work. I would suggest a covert action so as to hold off any response teams for as long as possible. Anyone have some ideas?"

Damien murmured, "I am pretty good with pyrotechnics. I can make a bonfire that will keep them off our hides." It was not just a boast, it was something he was confident of. With all of the soup enhanced reserves he had, combined with two dozen spirits, it would be easy to sustain a fire...

However, it would be best to have kindling.

"I would just need something that I can use to burn. Creating fire or keeping it going, those are simple, but without a burnable substance I wouldn't be able to be any help other than that."

Cadan listened intently to [member="Vassara Raxis"]. He would ussualy charge in guns blazing, but this wasn't his operation. He was here to get cortosis for his business.

After hearing [member="Ultimatum"]'s comment about keeping things 'covert' Cadan simply nodded. "Agreed, we should keep things under radar." The pirate then proceded to pull a cigar from the top pocket of his trench coat, then offer one to those standing around him. "Makes us look better." The pirate said as he placed the cigar in his mouth, and lit it. He breathed deeply on the cigar, letting the grey plumes of smoke slowly trickle out of his mouth.

"I could get us some pilot get ups?" Cadan offered. He had a few ideas on how to get them, without having to harm anyone.

OOC: Sorry guys, college and deployment got me busy.

Vassara continued checking papers, not doing anything overly suspicious. the guard saw thousands of new port authority officers a day. Her face was just one of many. Besides, she had a lot of tricks up her sleeve. Sneaking around on sith held planets gave you a lot of experience in blending in. Numerous missions with the Underground had show her how to be.... faceless.

"Ok go get the pilot outfits, and I'll wait here and infiltrate the next shift of officers. should be easy. Also one last thing. There's a ship named the Gypsy Caravan, and L-19 Freighter. It's parked at landing pad 14A second level. On board is crate, marked explosives. It actually has a bunch of different Synthetic masks. Pick one and wear it, it will help conceal your identity."

"Everything looks good, next pilot!" Vassara said, waving the line of motley freighter captains forward.

"And keep off the radar please, dont go slaying folks to get your disguise."

Sensing that he was utterly ignored, Damien shrugged and continued to stare around the area. There were quite a few people, but most were scattered. If need be, when one got close he could sieze their mind and make them walk away. It could indeed be an easy haul.

"I don't need a mask. I'll simply stay out of sight!" Damien muttered into his com. Moving away from the ledge he looked over, he charged for the one to his right and lept quickly to the next building over.

Sliding to a halt along the gravely rooftop, he chuckled. It was already boring. Listening to someone he didn't even know!

Ka-Aver leaned in and listened. He was not much of a planner but these guys seemed to know what they were doing. And Since Cadan was here it would probably go nice and smooth.

"Youz juzt point whre ouz need me folkz." he muttered

"I can blow zomething up if need be too. If zomeone got the proper equipment for itz..." he added after a short moment of consideration.

"Looks like you and I will be the default decoys if the need arises. I could provide the flames, you the explosions." Damien murmured into his com, directed at Ka. From his new perch, he was overlooking the entrance of the hangar they needed to assault. But this couldn't be to useful; an eye inside would be useful..

Closing his eyes, Damien launched his Force Shadow down from the roof. Slowly it entered the room, taking in all as it moved..

"Three men working near the ship you mentioned. So guys be careful getting your masks." Damien muttered from the safety of his vantage point.

@Ka-Aver @Vassara Raxis [member="Cadan Tazi"] [member="Ultimatum"]

Ultimatum processed the information and felt the beginnings of a possible plan begin to form. He replied as he looked over the expanse of the city, "Very good. Caden, Rose, we three will work on the cortosis itself. You other two, work with the explosives and build up a diversion. There is probably tibanna gas canisters as well, those might help with the explosions as well. We will start the job in an hour and be prepared by the time that the shipment comes through. Everyone got that for a start?"

[member="Damien Daemon"] [member="Ka-Aver"] [member="Vassara Raxis"] [member="Cadan Tazi"]

Cadan had never been the kind for this stealing uniforms and sneaking in. But it was what the mission required.

The pirate had managed to find his way to the barracks. With a lift press on the door it slide open, rows of beds laid before him obviously for those taking the night shifts, aswell as a small kitchen and what appeared to be a bath room. Then he saw what he want a wardrobe and he could see the uniforms.

Cadan made his way towards them but a voice stopped him. "Who the kark are you!?"

Cadan spun on the balls of his feet expecting a fist to fly in his direction, although no fist came. Just an officer marching towards him. Cadan's once bright red eyes, now beginning to show the signs of age, swung to the man. He was solidly built, hair cut short all round and had a long twirly mustache handing desperately to his lip.

"I is new 'ere." Cadan said stepping forward hand held out for a shake. A universal sign of peace, it always made people feel more comfortable. As soon as the officers hand touch Cadan's, the pirate pulled him forward, getting him of balance, before putting a foot in front of his legs tripping him up. The last thing the officer saw before falling unconscious was Cadan foot traveling down towards his head.

Cadan now emerged wearing the pilot suit and carried more for the others. "Suits gotten." Cadan said over the comms.

"rightz..." Ka-Aver mumbled and started to go over the equipment. Things were moving fast for him and he did not feel he had really understood what he was suposed to do.
So he would swing it like he usually did without a firm hand to guide him.

Perhaps if I blow this up it will be what they want he figured. He grabbed his back pack with explosives and skulked his way over to the hangar doors. He reached it and started to remove his back pack and set things up.

"Thiz thread goez into the yellow little holez, thiz thread goez to the blue little holez..." he started to sing with a low voice as he prepared the bomb on the exterior wall of the building.
