HIMS - This system ensures that the vessel can continue its forward momentum through hyperspace even after encountering a mass shadow.

Shipboard Tracking Control Complex - Also known as a Hyperspace Tracker, this system tracks vessels through hyperspace. The command staff of the vessel utilizes this system to better maneuver and station their fleet when detecting an enemy fleet incoming.

Proton Beam Cannon - At the height of the Galactic Empire these weapons were being developed and installed on various warships. The most famous of these weapons are those seen on the Death Star and the Eclipse Super Star Destroyer; where as smaller versions were installed on the Imperial Star Destroyer Accuser and Lancet class Artillery Ships.

x8X6Mp.gif

Exhaust Port(s) - While the Proton Beam Cannon carried by the vessel is a much smaller cousin to those seen on larger Imperial vessels such as the Executor or even the Death Star itself; it still requires a large amount of energy - thus it produces substantial amounts of heat. As a means to ensure that the weapon is properly vented, a series of smaller - though by no means untargetable - exhaust ports run the length of the vessel. Were a skilled Pilot able to target one such port, they could potentially cripple the vessel or otherwise destroy its main weapon.

Shield Shudder - Much of the vessels energy becomes dedicated to powering the Proton Beam Cannon. When the firing sequence begins, the weapon draws vast amounts of energy from across the vessel, even siphoning off from the shields. In the first moments of the weapon firing, the shields shudder - permitting laser blast or projectiles through leaving the vessel more vulnerable than it otherwise would be.

Behemoth - Though smaller than the other Super Star Destroyers fielded by the CIS - the vessel is none the less just as slow as its larger cousins. A skilled tactician could potentially isolate the vessel and ensure that its escort fleet were not capable of providing it the additional support required to deal with faster moving, and often smaller, enemy vessels.

Aim the Vessel - Unlike the bulk of its weaponry which is mounted on turrets and capable of independent movement; its primary weapon lacks such a capability. In fact, the Proton Beam Cannon runs much of the length of the vessel, requiring the vessel itself to maneuver into position in order to bring its main weapon to bear against an enemy target.

Hanger Squadrons - While the vessel carries a compliment of Starfighter Squadrons - its primary focus is on the deployment of its ground forces via the multiple support squadrons that it carries. Likewise the bulk of the Starfighter Squadrons that are deployed are often done so to provide a protective screen to the support craft - thus the vessel heavily relies upon additional Starfighters and Anti-Starfighter Corvettes from its escort fleet to stave off any kind of Starfighter assault.

The Qymaen jai Sheelal class Super Star Destroyer, also known as the 'Grievous' class Super Star Destroyer, commonly referred to as the Recusant class Super Star Destroyer is a class of starship developed by the CIS Navy for use in the upcoming War against the Mandalorians - though more specifically designed to serve as the Flagship for the CIS Capital Armada.

Unlike many of the Confederacy's warships, the Qymaen jai Sheelal class lacks any kind of droid brain technology, placing control of the vessel in the hands of organic begins - which it can be argued has a higher reaction time than the droid brain. However, this also means that a larger portion of the vessel is dedicated to the organic crew as well as the ground forces the vessel is capable of carrying into a conflict. This also further distances itself of the otherwise skeletal appearances of the Recusant and Recusant II vessels that the CIS Navy fields.

Much like its predecessor warship designs, the Qymaen jai Sheelal is a warship armed with oversized guns - as seen in the Prow Mounted Proton Beam Cannon that runs the length of the vessel. Additional weapons consists of multiple Heavy Turbolaser and Heavy Ion Cannon batteries, as well as Flak Cannons and additional heavy anti-capital ship and lighter anti-starfighter armaments. It does however lack in the capability of fielding its own starfighter squadrons - as many of the squadrons it does carry are utilized in the defense of the support squadrons as well as ground side air support missions. To this extent, the vessel heavily relies upon support from dedicated carriers, anti-starfighter corvettes and other specialized vessels to screen out enemy starfighter flights.

Serving as the Flagship of the Capital Armada, it also maintains the largest garrison of the CIS 1st Army - with a series of recreational lounges, training facilities and firing ranges; the vessel is equipped to maintain the moral of both the crew and its ground-side compliment. Additional facilities are often located throughout the vessel and officers are given special permission to keep personal items or entertainment in their private quarters. Additionally the vast majority of the crew that mans the vessel is organic with droids utilized in only the more hazardous areas of the vessel.

At the height of its power the Galactic Empire began to design and equip vessels with beam weapons on a smaller scale than that of the Death Star. The most notable of these weapons are those that were installed aboard the Eclipse Super Star Destroyer and the Imperial Star Destroy Accuser; formerly commanded by then Captain Piett. A similar weapon is installed on the Qymaen jai Sheelal - or rather the vessel was constructed around the Proton Beam Cannon. Of course this weapon does have its limitations, mainly that the entire vessel must be maneuvered in order to aim the weapon. Likewise, when fired, the weapon drains substantial amounts of power from the vessel, causing its shields to shudder - this coupled with its exhaust ports makes the vessel vulnerable to enemy Starfighter assaults when the weapon is in the process of ignition and firing. A proper strike could potentially knock out the weapon or otherwise cause substantial damage to the entirety of the vessel.

It is due to the heavier weaponry that the vessel excels; and coupled with its Aegis Shields and Countermeasure Package, it ensures that it is ready for any heavy engagement or attempt at slicing into its systems. Additionally the vessel is equipped with an HIMS, permitting it to continue its momentum through Hyperspace even after encountering a Mass Shadow - such as those often produced by an Interdictor class vessel. Another unique system it carries is a Shipboard Tracking Control Complex, a system that allows the vessel to track vessels through hyperspace; a capability which is often utilized to maneuver the fleet into the right position before an enemy drops from Hyperspace.

A more unique feature of the vessel lays deep within the interior. Tucked away near the Private Quarters of the vessel's Commander, is a Meditation Chamber. The design of which is similar to the Meditation Chamber utilized by Darth Vader on the Executioner.

The submission looks solid and I think it is ready for submission! A quick question on the dimensions - is this vessel intended to be long/thin with a ~400 meter width? Just want to make sure there wasn't a missing number there or anything.

That said, here are your dominions: (August 2018)

[member="Darth Metus"]

Yeah, I was basing it off of the Recusant class Destroyers that the Clone Wars era CIS fielded. It was intended to be long/thin in a similar manner.

I can beef up the meterage if needed.

The Sun Doesn't Burn - As the majority of those individuals that don these suits of armor are of the Vampirika Species; the armor itself is protected against UV radiation.

Emotionless and Genderless - The design of the armor is intended to provide an intimidating facade by removing an individuals ability to see the wearer's facial cues or gender. This provides a uniformed, united appearance among those units that march into battle with this armor.

Kinetic - Barring large caliber rounds, the armor is more than capable of withstanding a close, nearly point blank, strike from slugthrower weapons.

x8X6Mp.gif

Lightsaber - Excluding a glancing blow off the shoulder, gauntlet or helmet, the armor is incapable of withstanding a full blow from one of these weapons.

Ion/EMP - The armor is not protected against such attacks, offering only limited means of mitigating the damage of Ion weaponry; while its limited electrical systems can be shut down or damaged from such an attack.

Go for the Legs - Unlike many other armors, the Phase I Sovereign Armor is more focused on providing protection to the vitals of the wearer and only offer limited protection to the legs beyond a pair of sturdy boots which include greaves.

x8Xqme.gif

Its natural to feel unsettled around those whose face you cannot see. Those that wear masks or cover themselves in facial paint can more easily hide their emotions and expressions from those watching them. Whats worst is when that individual speaks, and a low monotone voice rings in your ears, further hiding their emotional state - as something even as simple as the cracking of a voice to denote their own fear is hidden from you. Further; the individual appears genderless, removing any form of guidance that an established social norms might dictate how you would address them or otherwise act around them.

The Phase I Sovereign Armor is designed to appear unisex - however its faceplate and billowy armorweave fabric at its elbows and draping down in the form of a skirt - belie a more feminine appearance. When the helmet is worn and an individual speaks, their voice comes out as a simple monotone creation, showing neither the deep voice of a male or the higher pitch of a female - even if one were speaking in anger or shouting, the voice is unnerving. This design is twofold in its approach, the first being an attempt at intimidation to unsettle those that come face to face with the armor; whilst the second is to provide a sense of uniformed unity among those wearing this armor.

As it is designed by the Kaminoan Armorsmiths, the same that designed the Phase I and Phase II Clone Trooper Armor, the Sovereign armor shares many similarities as its predecessors in terms of features and capabilities. For instance, the armor is capable of being sealed and providing enough oxygen for its wearer to survive in the vacuum of space for up to twenty-minutes. Likewise, some aspects of its design draw from the armor worn by the Imperial Stormtroopers, such as IFF Circuitry and a Manual Suit Seal.

However, there are some aspects in which the armor is wanting - particularly when it comes to its capability of protecting the wearer. The design was more focused on the protection of the upper body, leaving much of the thighs exposed and unarmored. Its systems can also be easily disabled with a hit from an EMP blast, whilst an Ion weapon could potentially harm the individual - or at the very least disorient them. And at the end of the day, these aren't suits of Phrink, meaning that other than a glancing blow, a Lightsaber would have no problem slipping through the armor.

Its strengths however lie in its capability of withstanding punishment. While direct close range blows from a Blaster have the potential of tearing through the armor, it is more than capable of withstanding a glancing blow, or a direct hit from a bolt of lower yield - or one whose strength has greatly diminished over distance. Likewise, it would take an extremely close or otherwise point blank shot from a all but the highest caliber slugs to tear into the armor. Its primary strength however is that it is capable of blocking out UV Radiation - meaning that those species who suffer from an allergic reaction, are capable of operating during the day in this armor without fear - that is unless the armor is damaged in some way that would expose them to the sun.
