Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
Rasu Gan Rasu Gan

She surged forward as Rasu was taking a page from her and focusing the force into fire and the jet like stream so she could push herself and then she was flinging fireballs at her and Matsu stayed at the same speed as one of the fireballs came close but didn't burn she instead turned and caught it using the jets from her feet and hands forming to hold it and turn it into a larger more focused jet by feeding the four into a sort of composite jet of flames to increase the output and change the color of the flames to blue-white as her eyebrow came up... then a wink sending her forward. She stayed posed like that as the flames kicked out further and pulling the other fireballs in they were absorbed with tutaminus.

She felt the force and pushed it through herself to keep the power going as she navigated towards the doors and used the force to push and open them to go through and down the stairs. as there were some jedi researchers watching but they had the sudden urge to not be in the way and were against the walls in the narrow pathways leading into the larger chambers filled with objects from equipment to clothing to holocrons... boxes of everything brought by the jedi packed in wooden crates that were marked with script from the caretakerrs but there wasn't much in the way of identification when the jedi master stopped the flames and launched herself into the ceiling bounding across upside down on the roof.

Rasu refused to become downtrodden with Matsu's counter and instead drew upon the energy of the Living Force around her to increase her own speed. Much like Matsu, the Shi'ido's flames burned with a greater intensity, orange transformed into a more concentrated white inferno. The Jedi powered forward, noticing the change in temperature as they passed through the repository doors. Rasu controlled her movement forward, dodging several caretakers who were sure to gasp in surprise as the pair flew past. Now she was in an unknown territory. Who knew how far away the finish line would be...

Rasu had no time to admire the vaults collection as she watched Matsu now continue her lead on the ceiling. "Only Matsu..." she thought before she caught a flash of sunlight. The fighter bay drew closer. The verdict would be decided in the next few moments. In one last desperate attempt, Rasu pushed forward. Time appeared to slow as the Shi'ido ceased her flames and sprinted towards the bay. As she came to the entrance, she outstretched her arm and dived, hoping that in some way their might be a close-call and she could win by an inch.

She rolled out of her dive and carried on through the momentum by sliding along the floor. Rasu flinched as she careened into a tool trolley and sent it toppling over. A loud crash echoed throughout the bay. Rasu clenched her jaw in embarrassment as the tools were flung out of their casing before flashing the onlookers a sheepish grin in apology.

"Maybe I took this too far Matsu..."

The jedi master was moving and weaving through the area and she listened to Rasu as rolling there in the area with the ships the jedi master looked at her. "Maybe but I ah assure you there is a lot worse they have seen me doing." She said it and was looking at some of the caretakers who were there shaking their heads but smiled still several of the jedi were watching as Matsu moved over towards Rasu and offered her an arm to walk around. THe ships were assembled and had been getting worked on with stored boxes within them... where they could look at it and try to organize more of them. "We really have been trying to work on well all of these... there are many more within the lower levels from eras the order hasn't done much research in."

The jedi master said it but she was looking at Rasu and some of the ships. "If you need something for yourself.. we can try and get you a ship that is improved and designed to aid you.. we have developed a number of other systems for the ships including fabricators for food, air and water that would allow you to be by yourself for longer... and advancved AI security systems that help with the whole isolation aspect of being in a ship alone."

Rasu cheeks flushed a deep green as she spotted the disgruntled Caretakers. She had definitely taken the race to an extreme level. Her over-competitive tendencies had taken over. Despite her embarrassment Rasu had greatly enjoyed their little escapade from a more civilised meeting. That was what she enjoyed about Matsu. On the outside she appeared calm and sensible with a rather no-nonsense attitude, but would be more than happy to break from the norm and get her hands a little dirty or fool around. Life was full of adventure and the pair of Jedi were both eager to experience as much as they could within their life-span.

"How many era's are we talking? How far back in history have you gone Matsu?" she said, returning her attention to the Atrisian and their tour of the repository. From what she had witnessed in the entrance, this vault appeared endless. The entirety of galactic history might as well have been represented in the collectables stored within.

"Perhaps I might ask to loan one from you Matsu. I don't want to exploit you too much, you've already spoilt me beyond measure." she said gesturing to her new robes.

"We have managed to get as far back as twenty thousand years so far... when the temple was created or at least discovered but there is more still... stuff that is like other worlds... showing that there were other species and other beings long before and we just found many of the places they had been." She was looking at Rasu and nodded. "There is a lot more... the jedi have come here many times it is just a strange place but the force is strong here and eventually it attracts others.. ones who will do much to the world for themselves." THe jedi master said it and looking at Rasu she led the way into one of the rooms that was filled with well it was a collection of pottery... cups, waterr basins, everything one needed to collect and drink water or the substances they could bring... but there was also chairs to sit down. "We can relax herre... give the caretakers and others a little time to forget we just ran through the halls at top speeds and flung around parts of the island."

"Twenty thousand...?!" Rasu thought, her mouth opened in shock. She was a sucker for history and to think that such a vast collection lay dormant in the vault below sent Rasu's curiousity ablaze. She followed Matsu and her mind grew bright as they entered a chamber filled with pottery. The Shi'ido approached a cluster of pottery and studied the intricate markings that circled its neck. Rasu wondered how long it had taken the creator of this piece to carve the pattern. How long had it sat waiting to be discovered on the Ahch-To? How many beings had interacted and used it? Rasu loved archaeology.

She moved to sit in the chair at Matsu's request, sighing as she sunk into the plump frame of the sofa. It was nice to sit and relax with her friend. It had been a short visit so far, but Rasu felt as they had done much in such a short time. She never seemed to have time for sitting and relaxing.

"So have you been in contact with any of our friends in the Silver Order?" she asked, wondering if much had transpired since she had departed Voss those many years ago.

"There are not many of our friends left, most left and went on to do their own things or just disappeared. THe new ones are no where near as interesting and there is from observation a drastic gap in knowledge and ability." The jedi master looked at her and well she wouldn't say they were bad though more were open about their use of the darkside and each one did like to have 'a view that challenged the jedi perspective' each one was special and the one who could use the darkside or do dark actions without it staining them... so she usually sighed and resigned herself to training and providing things only the devout lightsiders could use compared to the minority. "From time to time one or two might surface though, Aika was around a couple years ago and Sochi from time to time reappears."

Rasu chuckled at Matsu's comment. To say that the new Jedi weren't as interesting rather typical of the Atrisian. Rasu had found Matsu to have such high expectations and a rather perfectionist attitude. The Shi'ido was similar in that way. It was why they bonded so well and had remained strong friends. Rasu needed to only look at the facility she found herself in to see but one example of Matsu's longing for perfection and ambition. The new Jedi that inhabited the galaxy did appear to lack this ambition and dedication to grow and develop their craft but that was the way of the galaxy. Forever changing.

"I am sorry to hear that I have missed them once again. It seems the Force has different plans for us all and our paths are not meant to cross just yet." Rasu was forever hopeful that she would one day meet with her friends once again. She found herself thoroughly enjoying her visit with Matsu, reminiscing about old times. In this way, she felt rather old watching the now new generation of galactic defenders take charge in an ever-growing conflict. "It seems we are trapped in a cycle Matsu. War and conflict is inescapable. Are the new generation of Jedi ready?"

The Jedi master looked at Rasu and raised an eyebrow as she thought about it. "No and yes, some of them have potential and are willing to stand for their belief in the light but many seem willing to compromise in the wrong areas. Killing the sith won't do much good... they will aalways come back but they are not willing to make it so the people respect them... launch fights and invasions in populated areas without evacuating the people or helping rebuild afterwards but saying it is for their own good... not helpful in the long run." She said it but had a shrug, Rasu was skilled but she was also from a crop of jedi who cared about the people as well as stopping evil and it seemed darksiders came back more and more evil.

Rasu nodded thoughtfully, processing the the Atrisians judgment of the new defenders of the Light. Biting her lip in thought, the Shi'ido could think back to her own time on the front lines; now a role she found herself distanced from. She had been one for action. The Silver Jedi's expansion through the galaxy was a testament to that. She had been young and seen the control of the galaxy as her greatest goal. It seemed a rather Sith-like ideal but in Rasu's naive, youthful head, she saw this as a way to protect those she loved. Her time away from conflict, among the regular citizens of the galaxy had shown her a new side. Yes she had fought to defend others but in reality conflict was inescapable whether Jedi and Sith were present or absent. There would always be one with a disagreement and always one to protect their own statement. People would rise in arms to defend their beliefs. Jedi and Sith, Light and Dark. These were just names that gave an excuse to war.

"I'm just tired Matsu." she finally found herself saying. "We have given much to the galaxy. Sometimes I do just want to rest. Too escape from it all and abandon our titles and code. A normal life." She looked quizzically at her friend, wondering if she desired the same. "Doesn't that just sound bliss?"

The jedi master looked at her and tilted her head for a moment as she remained blank faced... then spoke with a look. "I have been married to Hanna for 40 years sweetie, we have seven daughters and neither of us have asked the other to give it all up. She loves politics as much as I love being a jedi and it is what drew us together." She said it though and offered a small smile to the woman. "Besides we are jedi, we became something more then just ourselves a long time ago. To give everything up would be to give up a part of ourselves." She said it but offered a small look of a smile. "It is not easy but we vowed to protect people and try to make the galaxy better, to protect life through the light. To use our might for right.... and to if need be give our lives because it would save them."
