Private An Interesting Encounter

She gave him a smile, her nervousness temporarily put aside. “I got into their surveillance. I can see with their cameras. I can’t tell where we are with them easily but I can see things. If I can figure out which cameras are where I can help get us out.”

Then he suggested bringing him with them. And Kark nodded, “I agree. And a gun to the back of his head should be plenty of motivation to keep honest. You, your name is Mila right, see if you can’t coordinate those cameras, if it can be done in the next few minutes that would be great, if not, we’ll need to go without them.”

Ardon smiled at her response, that was indeed useful! Things were going well...for the circumstances anyway. So, gun to the back of the pirates head, Mila coordinates the cameras, and then they figure out how to get to Ardon's ship. "Ardon = Agrees with this plan." he said, ready to change the ropes on the pirate so that either him or one of the others could walk with the pirate at gunpoint. Personally, he really didn't want to end up having to kill the guy. Pirate or not killing people just wasn't a great thing to do.

He hoped his astromech was going to be able to be repaired. There was no way it was still functioning if nobody had come to help yet. He just hoped his ship was fine too.

“I’ll see if I can’t find out which cameras are which.” Was her response. She got back to working with her computer, and tried to get a general idea of where each camera was. After several moments she had a system down. “Okay, ready, I can watch corners and I’ll let you guys know if anyone’s coming our way.”

So the pirate was grabbed again, and they were on the move. Mila walked with Ardon at the back. Kark and the big guy took point, so that they might soot anything in front of them, while Ardon took the pirate, and Mila watched the cameras. She let them know when it was clear, and when they needed to hide she told them so. They got close to the door fifteen minutes later.

“There are no exterior cameras I have access too. Unless you give me a few more minutes, which I do not advise since there are two more pirates heading our way. They should be here in forty seconds.”

She got to work and they were on the move. Ardon looked at the images she had for a moment thinking it over. Just forty seconds. He thought for a moment than said aloud, "You = Switch to stun. Stun = Tends to be quieter + easier to explain if: other pirates send message to comm units."

Course if they didn't have a stun, that wasn't going to be much of an option. And he also somewhat doubted the bigger man really would want to do that. If he didn't, it might mean they were going to go from trying to navigate their ways through, to having to run outside. Ardon just really wanted to get to his ship and get them off this place. He'd let the Tillian Family know about what happened as soon as he could, but right now, he wanted to get himself, Mila, and these two men, out of this pirate trap as soon as possible.

Ardon told her to switch to stun, she pulled out the pistol he gave her from the pouch on her hip, and with an embarrassed face asked. “Can you show me how? I’ve... never really handled a blaster before.”

Kark nodded and motioned for the big guy to do the same. Their weapons, now set to stun, were held at the ready. Mila’s too, but hers wasn’t shaking ever so slightly from the more than a little nervous twi’lek. The forty seconds passed, and the two pirates rounded the corner, right into the volley of stun blasts. The three fire department by the men hit home, Mila’s shot went wide and hit the wall.

She lowered her gun, and put it away, “Okay, give me one more moment.”

She got to work with her computer, hooking it up with some wires to a nearby panel. “And I’ve got exterior cameras. No patrols outside our door. We’re looking at a wall roughly twenty feet dead ahead, earthwork by the looks of it. We get over that and we should be just fine.

Ardon gave a quick point as to where the switch was. And then they waited. He furrowed his brow as he noticed the shaking. He'd tell her it was alright but they were too close now. They'd be heard if he did.

So he waited, and the moment the pirates turned they were hit by a small volley. Mila might have missed, but she tried, and he couldn't blame her for that. Seemed she was good at loads else from what he'd seen, it was fair that marksmanship wasn't one of them yet. Ardon took a qiuck glance down the hallways and dragged the pirates up against the wall to make sure they'd be out of the way and less noticeable as Mila worked.

Alright, twenty fight. Twenty feet as targets. He ran his fingers through his hair in thought. Twenty feet was about 7-9 steps though, so if they bolted, they could absolutely make it if nobody was expecting them. The problem was getting over the wall. He narrowed his eyes in thought.

"You three = Help each other over. Ardon = Stand guard then: Follow. Ardon = Good shot + wearing armor." He suggested. He wanted to be sure they could get over and he figured he could probably get up and over fast enough he hoped. Pirates didn't generally have big weapons, so it should be ok. He hoped.

"thanks." She said as he showed her the switch.

"Agreed. Thanks Ardon." Karl said to him with a grateful smile. Then he looked at Mila, "are you sure noone is around outside this door? And how high is the wall?"

"I'm sure. And the wall appears to be roughly seven feet high, it's just a mound of earth though so we should be able to get over it like we're climbing a hill." Mila said after putting the gun away. She checked her computer again, and rechecked all the cameras. "Pirates. They just came out of another door, headed our way outside."

She watched as the pirates passed their door, this time there were six of them. "Hold a moment." Twelve seconds passed. "Go."

Ardon smiled at her thanks and gave a nod to kark as he gave appreciation. They confirmed again no one was out there. And the type of wall they were facing. Just a mound of earth, that made things easier. Hopefully, long as it wasn't slippery. Seven feet high was high, but not absolutely awful. A good jump would get him over. He didn't know if Mila would need help, but if she did it shouldn't be too hard.

He waited as she said there were more pirates, but they were able to wait them out. He waited, she said it was time to go. He moved quickly pulling out his second blaster. But he wouldn't shoot anyone unless they were noticed. He had his blasters on stun, but if that wasn't going to work, he could switch. They had a good kick behind them and holding two meant he could fire heavy hitters back and forth more easily.

The moment they'd get outside his cybernetics were able to use the pirates communicator to bounce his own signal onto his ship. Quietly turning on its systems and preparing it for takeoff. And getting ready to open the door once they were getting close enough. If he moved the ship right now there was too much chance someone would react.

They ran to the mound-wall, and got there quickly without being seen. Mila started to climb, and while she was no fighter she had made sure to keep fit enough to run, and climb. She required no help getting up the steep incline, and she was quick on her feet and just fast in general. She scaled the wall quickly and stopped at the top to keep watch as the rest of them came up.

They got over the wall without issue, beyond was a grassland with a few lonesome trees scattered about here and there in the distance. A ways off was Ardon’s ship.

“That yours?” Mila asked Ardon.

Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa got over fast enough, wonderful. She was fast. That was definitely needed right now. Soon they were all over it and could see his ship. He smiled glad to see it was intact and heard Mila's question, "You = Correct." he said. Just a few trees. He could move the ship right now and bring it to them, or he could have them run to the ship. Either option had their own risks and advantages.

He took in a breath, looking at the area around them,
"Ardon = Bring ship. Or: We = Go to ship?" he asked to confirm which one they preferred Naturally he already started walking towards it. He wanted the distance they needed to go over to be as small as possible. He kept an ear to the comm unit just in case any important messages came through.

“I think we should go to it. If I think comes to us it will be faster but they will be alerted and there’s a chance they’ll shoot it down.” She said softly.

Kark nodded in agreement. “I agree. Let’s hike it, we’ll be detected later and we won’t be close enough for them to effectively shoot us down.”

So Mila fell in behind Ardon. And Kark and the big guy walked beside them. And Kark said. “In the case that it can’t fly, what do we do?”

Mila stopped a moment, then kept walking. She hadn’t considered that the ship might not even take off. “Then we see if we can’t call for help. I feel the ship’s communicator doesn’t work, my computer should work, I’ll just need to hook it up to the ship’s transmitter for a more powerful signal. Then we can call for help.”

Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa (Gonna head out for a bit today, should still do posts but they'll be more sparsely spread.)

Ardon nodded as both Mila and Kark said that they should walk to it and they started falling in a vague sort of formation until Kark asked about if it could fly. Mila paused but kept going a moment after with her response. She said call for help and that the communicator might not work but her computer should, "Angel's transmitter = functioning. Ardon = Connected to it. Ardon = Could try and send signal off world from here. Help = Might take awhile. Signal = Could alert pirates."

He thought on it. He'd be really upset if his ship wouldn't fly. But on his ship was his helmet and more weapons. So if it came to it, he'd be willing to try and hijack one of the pirates ships. He really hoped that wasn't necessary. He liked his ship and he'd had work done on it thanks to his families business. Tillian Family Enterprises was profitable enough and they knew how to do things with ships, he'd finally gotten to be a captain of his own ship. Losing it now would be awful.

He furrowed his brow and grit his teeth at the thought.

(No worries buddy. Also, are we gonna have the ship fail to take off or get shot down by the super-laser?)

Mila nodded her understanding. That sounded true. “We won’t need to stay in the ship if we have to transmit, we might set up a shelter a ways away from it so that we won’t be in the open, but still be within sight of the ship.”

They moved in silence. They arrived at the ship a half hour later. Mila asked, “you want me on the Nav Computer? Or somewhere else? Or should I just stand back out of the way?”

Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa (Thanks! We could have it be held down by some kind of clamp maybe. Or that he can't get out because of the laser. His ship is pretty dang fast/manuverable so he might be able to land it again without it getting serious damage but then they need to take out the laser?)

"Ardon = agrees." He responded to Mila's input about not actually being on the sip. They eventually got to it, thankfully undetected as far as he was aware. Though sooner or later the pirates would realize what had happened, he just hoped they wouldn't come this way just yet. He took in a breath as they got to the ship and he opened the ramp to get inside, and see the sekret-astromech-droid sprawled on the floor. It was in one piece but the ION blast had screwed it up. Would need repairs before it got moving again.

He heard Mila offer to help or just get out of the way,
"You + Nav computer = good. We = Go anywhere but here." he said, getting in the pilots seat and closing the ramp once everyone was inside. If he could, he'd start to take off, planning to head into space as soon as he could. At least if Mila could set up the Nav Computer they could get out, he could avoid their ships.

But there would always be complications.

(Let’s go with the latter option.)

His ship was impressive, but she was a little saddened to see the damaged droid. She nodded, “I’m on it.”

She went to the Nav computer and began to plot a hyperspace course to Naboo. She knew one place that she wasn’t certain they’d be safe, and that was Naboo. So she set the course, and told him that it was set, while Kark and the big guy were on the guns. And they achieved liftoff.

They were in the air, but they weren’t even out of the atmosphere when they lurched violently to the side. And they began to descend again. The only good thing was that the landing could have been a lot rougher, and they were much further away from the pirate’s base than they originally had been, but they didn’t seem to be any closer to Naboo.

She turned to Ardon and asked, “you okay?”

Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa

The ship took off, everything was going fine until his sensors caught sight of something, and therfore so did he, he jerked the ship to the side as a laser bolt swept past him and took right back down to the ground his brow furrowed as he set them down and slapped his leg thinking over what had just happened. They were further from the pirates base, but they were very much not on Naboo. He'd run the numbers. The cannon had too close of a chance of hitting them, it was only thanks to a rushed job this time. They had a good machine.

Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa asked about what was wrong he scrunched up his face in thought, "Pirates = Have good laser cannon. Chances of escape = Greatly reduced while active. Shields = Low. One hit = Possible death."

He looked at her, clearly frustrated with the issue, "We = Cant leave until: Cannon = Inactive."

Mila listened. “Did you see where the shot came from?”

That’s would matter a great deal. If it was on one side of the planet and only one side, they would just leave from the other side and be fine. She doubted that they were so careless. If they knew where it was they could go and hopefully shut it down, if not, they’d need to find out. She began looking through the sensors, they’d only had enough time to keep them from getting hit, there was no way to find out from there.

“Crap. We’ll need to infiltrate one of their bases if we want the location of the cannon.” She said. “And We aren’t as close as we were. I say we hunker down for the night, and wait for the morning to plan out our next move.”

Ardon shook his head apologetically "Ardon = didn't have time. Ardon = Only barely recognized in time." he responded. And as they went over the sensors, there wasn't sufficient data to pinpoint it either. That meant they'd be headed back to the pirates bases. Lovely. They'd just gotten out of there.

He furrowed his brow as Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa said as much. So, wait it out. And in the morning make a decision. Ardon nodded,
"Ardon = Will try and fix droid. Mila = Can sleep in captain quarters. We = Sleep in crew quarters." he said. It was a bit of an instinctive statement, while they were all escaping together, he didn't know the men. And he knew that there wasn't anything in his quarters really to hide. He kept some equipment in there and that was about it that was worthwhile.

Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa

"I'll see if I can't help you with your droid." She said standing up from her seat. Then he said to sleep in the captain's quarters and she stopped in surprise. "Me? Why? Aren't you the captain here? I appreciate the generosity but really, I couldn't."

Her objection was mostly because she hated feeling as though she was trespassing, and someone giving up their bed to her, while generous, gave her that uneasy feeling of being a trespasser.
