Nyx
Insert Hilarious Title Here
Let me set the scene: it's about 3 AM, and I'm sitting in a chair outside my tent, a couple meters away from the main campsite. My two sisters are in bed in their tent, and my mom and stepdad are sleeping their tent. I've had a bit of a rough day, so I'm half-asleep.
Then I heard my mom scream: "NYX! NYX! THERE'S WATER IN THE TENT!"
I rushed over to her tent, and was immediately in ankle-deep water. The tide had come in all the way to our campsite, which except for my tent, was now underwater.
We woke up my sisters and rushed to pack up what wasn't already washed away. We lost quite a bit of our food, and a couple lawn chairs, but our tents and electronic devices were fine except for my stepdad's phone, which was ruined.
When we were packed up, and I had my sisters in my car, it turns out we were stuck. Me and my mom had to push the cars out of the wet sand. Keep in mind that at this point I am in a swim suit and a too-big t-shirt, and my mom is dressed about the same.
So then I'm following them, and my sisters are crying, and my 11 year old sister looks at me and asks dead serious if we're about to die. I laughed out loud, and they fell asleep about five minutes later.
We decide that we might as well go home, and we've been on the road for about seven hours with rest stops. We just got home.
Definetly an interesting end to my first and probably last beach camping trip.
