Private An Unexpected Disaster

I stop walking the moment that my pathway is blocked. My eyes are drawn to the barrels of their rifles and it is with a briefly shown frown that I slowly turn around to face the man daring to try to call himself my employer.

My gaze drifts to Alaan as he speaks for a moment before being shouted down. What a horrible fate! Why do these people not just revolt? They have the manpower and the numbers! It is a mystery that I will hopefully solve some time soon.

And then there it was; a brief showcase of a hint of manners. I clasp my hands in front of me, keeping my head held high and shoulders back. "I will think about it overnight and arrange a set of terms for a contract. Now I caution you not to reject them, for it is a test for your conduct in future engagements with other businesses and governments. If you want to prosper, then I suggest that you not dismiss the opinions and advice of those that have far more experience than yourself."

I look over my shoulder to the soldiers behind me. "Now I need an escort to my ship so that I may collect my luggage and retire for the evening."

"You sound defiant!" Velran said clasping his hands. "But of course instilling loyalty to an employee is like training a Dog. You have to condition them into obedience. Create that stimulus inside of them so by the time you ring your bell, the Dog's will be rushing to your feet, tail wagging, and panting for that morsel of food that you may or may not feed them."

This is why Velran preferred Droids and Clones over people, they had a purpose which was to serve their creator. People on the other hand were to individualistic and required some beating over the head to get them to follow you. "Guards!" Velran said. "Escort the new employee to her personal chambers you know what I'm talking about."

"The outhouse right?" One of the Immortal inquired.

"Exactly," Velran said taking another of his expresso.

"Yes sir," The Immortal grabbed Liin's arm and began to drag her. "Let's go," he said.

"Now you think long and hard about my brilliant offer!" Velran yelled. "At the very least, think of your people. It would be a shame If they were experiments for my personal Sharks with frickin laser beams!"

"Ohhh those Sharks?!" Aaraan replied in a giddy tone. "Ah man I thought that experiment was on hold!"

"It may be....." Velran said. "But I might have.... fresh meat." Velran stroked his bushy moustache and grinned. "We'll be arriving in New Alderaan in 30 minutes, I hope you consider my position.

If he thinks that I will accept being treated like a dog, well he has another thing coming! I am certainly not going to act as though I am eager to please him. Not unlike the crew that he has here. I will not bow down to a madman!

Once more I am dragged away, yet I find being able to walk on my own two legs to be much more dignified than being carried over one's shoulder. The journey itself is confusing given that so many corridors look the same. But in no time at all I am shoved into a tiny wooden cell with a toilet! How absurd!

I remain standing there with my eyes closed. I imagine myself being elsewhere for a little bit. He did say it was merely a half hour's journey. I can only imagine how much destruction there is on the conquered planet with him being in charge of it.

DEAD! BUT STILL A GENIUS!!!!!!!

After about 30 minutes inside of Hyperspace, Velran heard multiple noises alerting him that The Eggman was nearing its destination. The crazed Moff was shaking uncontrollably in his chair his eyes rapidly shifting from left to right and his arms were moving all over his body as if he was covered in bugs. "Woo! This Expresso packs a punch!" Velran yelled at Alaan who stood next to him smiling awkwardly. "I'm telling you Alaan this Expresso is amazing, I can feel my heart beating so quickly..... you would be thinking it's a hyperdrive judging by the rate it's going."

"Sir," A young officer said. "I don't think you should be drinking one large up of Expresso. There are plenty of cups that are for-"

"DID I ASK FOR YOUR OPINION BAGFRED?!" Velran shouted. "NO! IN FACT GET UP AND GET THE MISS BUSINESS WOMAN! WE'RE GOING TO SEE WHAT RULES SHE CAME UP!"

The officer sighed and saluted him before going to the outhouse where Liin Terallo Liin Terallo was being held. "My lady," the officer said opening the door "The Admiral would like to see you now."

I open my eyes the moment that the door opens and fresher air wafts in. "Does he, now? Let us hope that he is in a more agreeable mood." And by agreeable I mean that he will listen to reason.

I step out of the tiny space with my held held high, my shoulders back and follow the officer back to the bridge. I am led to their so-called Admiral that caters to a rather large mug of caf. Or is it something else?

"Have we arrived? I have yet been back to my ship to fetch my luggage."

"Oh yes we've arrived!" Velran said pointing at the large window. The planet: New Alderaan was there surrounded by a blockade filled with Star Destroyers and Frigates. Two squadrons of TIE Fighters began fly near the Eggman, Velran pushed the cup of Expresso from the arm of his chair. "I don't think you get it!" Velran said sitting on his Admiral's chair one leg crossed over the other. "You work for me now! And the Expresso made by the talented Alaan has made me feel rather..... generous."

He leaned closer towards Liin his face darkening. "You've had half an hour to think about the contract you wanted to give me. Tell me your terms and I might grant some of them!"

I am filled with dismay as I look out of the window and see the planet seemingly surrounded. I have little doubt that it is to prevent anyone from leaving. In a sense the world appears to have become a prison-planet.

My attention is returned to the so-called Admiral while he barks at me. Yes, that is a good word for it. The man barks and acts like a rabid dog. So I must treat him as such. Let others shoot him to put him out of his misery. I will not have blood on my hands or my dress.

"First off, you should allow me to collect my things. Employer or not; you have no right over any of my property. Secondly I require decent quarters and office. If I am to visit other delegates and businesses on your behalf, I cannot do so while appearing and smelling as though I were a street rat. And thirdly, you must take my expertise into account and rely on it. Otherwise there is no point in my being here at all."

My terms are broad and not entirely specific for I have not yet encountered anything on his prison-planet that he rules over.

It only took a few seconds for Velran to consider Liin's offer. "Done!" Velran said flashing a wicked smile. "Welcome to your new job! You'll start working for me once we land!"

Alaan gave a confused look but otherwise remained silent. "You've got guts! I like that in an employee! So for that show of bravado I will give you......"

Velran displayed a small cup of Expresso. "FREE ACCESS TO THE COFFEE MACHINE!" Velran smiled. "Just think, you'll be working long hours and you need just a little bit of caffeine that can get the energy you need to push through! Well now, you can drink any type of coffee whenever you want to!"

Liin Terallo Liin Terallo

Coffee. What a pleasant reward. The disdain that I have for this man grows by the hour, yet I do my best to hide it. At least for now.

"How delightful. And now if you will excuse me, I shall go to collect my things before we land." I can only imagine what the interior of the transport is like. No doubt it is completely wrecked as though some darkly dressed teen had a temper tantrum inside. I just hope that none of my things are destroyed. At least my most treasured items are at home in Ilic City.

Without so much as a word of agreement, I pivot on my heel and make my way out of the bridge deck. I will find my own way to my transport if need be.
