...and the White Dragon Roared [Kaine]

One step placed after another as Kaine’s unrelenting assault forced her backward. She had met his blade time and again but now Iella only had reserves to draw upon, her energy all but gone. Her breathing, as she pulled in short grasps of air, burned her lungs as she could not inhale quickly enough, she simply did not have the time to, her only focus was to stem to barrage of strikes.

Kaine deflected one of her weakening strikes easy enough with more strength than she, even though he had tired, he wanted this more than she did, and he will claim his prize. But to Iella’s mind it is she that has won, as her daughter now given her life back. The force push enough to make her unsteady on her feet and she stumbled sideways. Just for a brief moment, Iella had taken her eyes off Kaine, she did not see the shoto jump to his hand.

She regained only a small amount of energy in the brief moment, and began her defence, now she had two blades to countermeasure and she knew it was only a matter of time. Kaine’s is a champion bladesman and this style Iella now found difficult to fight against especially with no energy either physically or through the force. Even Jedi and Sith succumb to their mortal deficiencies.

Iella was running out of room, the end of the balcony only meters away and he pushed unrelentingly. As she raised her arms with white blade to block his longer saber, time stopped.

The burning of lungs ceased as she held no more ability to draw in air. The recognition of the final blow evident with her body on fire, his shoto plunged between her breast plate and armpit and into her heart. Just for a brief moment their eyes locked, in her eyes he would see not fear or pain but a sense of achievement and her crimson lips curled at the corners in a smile. But the night seemed to grow deeper and blanket around her like a shroud placed around her body to sooth and take her on her next journey.

Iella fell to the ground dead.

The clinking of her lightsaber which remained activated rolled over the edge of the balcony and fell to the depth of the cliff on which the citadel stood. Her body lay still, lifeless only for a several minutes before she entered the realm of the living force leaving behind her battered armour and clothing. As her body left this world for the next, the sound of tinkling he would hear as the Great Life Jewells fell inside her armour.

He used the unorthodox, coming in at her from odd angles, his blades a blur as they clattered and clashed against her's. However; as in all things, this duel must come to a conclusion. Then, as quickly as their renewed confrontation had began, it ended. Finding a single weakness in Iella's fading defense, the Sith Lord pounced to exploit the small slip, and in one graceful motion he bypassed the Jedi Grandmaster's blade, and pierced her torso just below the armpit, and he could feel his blade sliding deep within her chest before coming out the other end. He pulled the Jedi closer, denying her a retribution strike with her blade, and he stared deep into her eyes as he saw the life begin to twinkle out of existence. He relished in his victory, the Dark Side burning brightly as the Light Side was snuffed out from it's champion, and with a clatter he deactivated his blades and let her impaled body collapse to the hard stone floor.

To his unamused surprise, her body disappeared the moment it struck the floor, leaving only her smoldering robes and armor behind as evidence that she was ever there at all. Her lightsaber clattered to the ground next to the heap of clothes, but rebounded off of the stone and tumbled down over the edge. Another sound brought the Sith Lord to kneel before her armor, shifting through it's confines before he produced two identical jewels that resounded with thrumming life energy. He had heard of these artifacts from his long-past studies, and theorized them to be the fabled Great Life Jewels. Why Iella brought these to this fateful confrontation baffled the Sith Lord, did she expect these trinkets to give her an edge over him? Whatever benefit she expected to receive, it did not help her in the long run, and although he may have lost his servant, he now had an even greater prize within his grasp.

He had plans for these...
