- The energy required to power the Annihilator is produced via Isotope-5 Reactors stationed throughout the dreadnought the weapon is constructed on. These reactors release concentrated doses of Isotope-5 to create an enormous amount of constrained power, which is then channeled along conduit tunnels towards focusing chambers.
- This energy is then refined and sharpened by Siaber Crystal lenses, to the point that the energy is transformed into a condensed highly volatile state. Once the energy has reached this stage, it is harnessed in a large firing chamber and launched at high velocity towards a chosen target.
- Designed for use against capital ships, the weapon had the potential to destroy one of these class of vessels in a single shot or cause enough damage to cripple it; and while it was incapable of destroying a planet, it could devastate the surface in the vicinity of where it struck.
- OOC: The aforementioned damage of the weapon can only go as far as other writers allow it, this does not allow any one-shot kills unless accepted by all parties involved.
- Superlaser: The energy generated by the Isotope-5 reactors and focused through Siaber crystals has immense destructive potential, capable of causing catastrophic damage on cruiser size vessels and smaller ships while having a range of devastating effects on destroyers and battlecruisers.
- Volatile Energy: The energy utilized by the Annihilator II is extremely volatile during the transference and the firing sequence, and even just one miscalculation on behalf of the gunners can cause catastrophic failure. Fortunately, several safeguards have been put in place to reduce the chances of such a disaster.
Designed on the same principles as its predecessor, the Annihilator II was essentially an upgraded version of the previous superlaser built onto the Emperor's flagship, the Behemoth.
Re-using the same Isotope-5 generator technology pioneered during the initial construction of the Behemoth, more safety features have been added such as a greater number of ventilation systems to relieve the pressure from excess or backed up energy, reducing the strength of an explosion in the event of a catastrophic meltdown.
The prow of the repaired Behemoth was also changed, the superstructure enlarged with a large tower overlooking the superlaser mechanism to better protect it from fighter attack and during ramming operations. The method by which the energy was harnessed, refined, and sharpened, remained relatively the same with the exception of swapping out standard kyber crystals for Siaber crystals.
