Another design put forth by First Order engineers, the Annihilator Turbolaser prizes heavy firepower with a priority towards a steady rate of fire.
The weapon achieves these abilities with a pair of modifications to the base design. First, the design utilizes a series of focusing lenses and energy concentrators to increase the weapon's power and project the heavier blast downrange. Second, the weapon features a simple recoil system mounted in both the weapon housing and along the barrel, allowing the weapon to quickly 'reset' after each shot. This, coupled with installed cooling regulators, allows the weapon to maintain a faster rate of fire despite the heavier blast the Annihilator is capable of. In addition, the weapon features a series of failsafes installed into the hardware of the design. These failsafes help prevent dangerous feedback loops of energy should the weapon be damaged in combat.
