Anti-Sith League

The War for the Core starts Soon.
The aim of this campaign is to bring together a united front of factions with one single purpose - to drive out One Sith who have entrenched themselves in the Galactic Core. In order to even attempt such a feat, combined efforts and resources of several factions will be required. And this is where you come in, my dear friends. Essentially, this is a proposal to lead an actual war effort against a common enemy, similar how WWII played out between USA, UK, Germany and Russia. Let's first lay out the board with all the interested parties:

  • Galactic Alliance is the initiator of the League, since they are most mobile and vigilant. They will lend troops, experts, starfighter pilots, fleet and FUs to the cause. GA will take part similar to that of United States of America in WWII - not there for the beginning of the party, but still moping of the floor in the end.
  • Galactic Republic is currently experiencing severe political turmoil, with allegiances divided. Also, GR has taken the most hits from OS, but still stands, despite many lost invasions. The League may restore faith of GR in the righteousness of their cause and bring much needed stability. Galactic Republic takes the role similar to that of UK in the WWII - with new leadership with a clear vision, they can prevail
  • SSC may be far away on the map, but they are a formidable faction with strong leadership. They haven't been in much faction-to-faction contact with OS, but I have a feeling they would like to. Why not progress down Saleucami arm and work towards opening southern front on OS? Of course, this would require some stomping over Hutt Cartel. SSC plays the role of Russia - Cold, far away, vast...but once they start stomping, you better hide!
  • Mandos and their clans may also take some interest in this. The League can offer to help take Wayland back, maybe even unite the clans? If it can be achieved, Mandos can wage war on the northern front. In WWII context, Mandos would be the Scandinavian countries - neutral, but with strong resentment towards Third Reich
  • OS clearly plays the role of Germany; it's great to be in the middle of things, but only when you are not attacked from all sides
  • TU plays the role of Japan, especially due to its proximity to GA
So, how do we play this out? Well, this will require a lot of coordination among different groups of players. If it works, there will be endless potential for invasions, dominions, skirmishes and most importantly - diplomacy. Even more, all planning and arrangements should be done IC, like the Yalta conference. Conferences and meetings would be great opportunities for political, army and other NFUs to mesh with FU leaders, have FUs have a say in politics and the other way around.
Ultimately, it would reduce OOC drama substantially - if you can RP out a decision against other players, sway other characters into agreeing with you, then there will be no complaints.
In this way, OS and TU(and other allies they might have) will get the opposition they deserve, which would make board-wide roleplay interesting, engaging and more leveled.

You may think of this idea as turning Chaos in a very large, multilayered chessboard.

Taggin leaders to see what they think: [member="Mantic Dorn"] [member="Lady Kay"] [member="Coren Starchaser"] [member="Jacen Voidstalker"] [member="Chevu Visz"] [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] [member="Coci Heavenshield"] [member="Corvus Raaf"]

Discuss.

I think this will be really interesting, especially for people dabbling in both sides, but reside in a neutral faction, like The Shadow Dynasty. I think we have some OS and GA members, but I'd have to check again. Where do you think we'd stand on this?

[member="Darth Urak"] [member="Darth Atrace"] Skirmish thread needs more of your spam, shoosh! :p

[member="Kira Fenn"] Well, it's entirely up to you!

But be mindful, this will be a very you-are-with-us-or-against-us kind of setup, so choose wisely.

Actually, all of major/minor factions I haven't mentioned can decide on their standpoint IC(I'd prefer this, simply to understand motivation) or OOC.

[member="Darth Vornskr"] - OHHHH NO YOU DINNIT!!!

For me? I might participate here and there, I mean Julius is designed for fighting. But I'm not intending to be at the forefront of this most likely. Mainly because putting it into a focused 'league' has never worked before here, that I have seen, on this board. Put multiple factions together and you get hen picking and leadership squabbles and not much really gets done, at all. Look at the recent Convocation of Lightsiders and how it turned out. The Army of Light, etc...

Great idea(s), but it(they) died flat and nothing came of it(them). I'll be there, but i'm not going to devote my time and main focus to it, just to see it fall apart like 99.9% of the other ideas like it before. So you will see me pop up, in the hopes for a good duel or two, but I think making it too organized and focused is just asking for it to die off before it starts, like it always tends to.

Convocation did not work for one simple reason - too many people in one thread. Here, things will be multilateral, which will make it way more manageable. SSC meets with GA, GR meets with GA, SSC meets Mandos and GR etc. Instead of focusing on one large arch, have many smaller arches that build into a large arch when you read them together. I am not asking you to devote any time to this, you are more than welcome to RP in some of the mini-arches if you like. I am going to put time and effort into this(and others if they want to help me), but I will also coordinate with enemies as well to include as many interested parties, just not at the same time.

So far it seems like we're going to be against the OS. Although I want the faction to remain as neutral as possible and not take action, I'm sure the OS have or will do something to provoke. I'd love to run this by ICly once The Shadow Dynasty is fully up and running!
