Developed by Doctor Bambrat Vaskos Bambrat Vaskos in 900 ABY, the AR-S II - Class Siege Droid; Federation V Pattern was designed to succeed the Advanced Robotics Series Siege Battle Droid on the galactic market due to a lack of demand from the galactic powers. This model represents the most recent advancement in war droid technology from the viewpoint of the Trade Federation.

However, the substantial expenses involved in manufacturing these formidable machines limit their production to small quantities within concealed facilities throughout the Alliance.

The AR-S II towers at an impressive height of nearly 30 feet, featuring a robust structure upheld by three fortified legs. These legs are encased in reinforced plating and further enhancements to ensure stability during movement.

Additionally, the unit is equipped with a range of formidable weaponry intended for extensive bombardment. In addition, its Electrostaff-like sword arm is optimized for dismantling smaller and medium sized vehicles, providing essential support in chaos-ridden skirmishes and open-engagements on the battlefield.

However, this pragmatic superiority comes at a cost. Its considerable size makes it vulnerable; it can easily draw the concentrated fire from squads of enemy infantry and artillery. Tactical placements by commanders are crucial, as ignoring them can lead to rapid decommissioning of the droid before it fulfills its role.
