CHRONICLE INFORMATION

For years now, many a Mando'ade had pondered the mystery of Clan Dem'adas and the manner in which they seemed to have disappeared overnight.

While most who ponder the mystery know that Olivia Dem'adas and three of her clan's warships had been seen above Mandalore when the Sith Empire had tried to claim the broken homeworld of the Mando'ade for themselves, a few recall Olivia Dem'adas attending a rallying call put out by those who supported Mand'alor Munin during his ascension. During this rally, Olivia voiced her opposition to the young vod's claim and challenged Vilaz Munin for the title of Mand'alor. A challenge that Munin would reject and dismiss after Olivia refused to remove her armor.

After this, Clan Dem'adas disappeared. Recently though, an archive has appeared that claims to tell the tale of Clan Dem'adas and their Exodus into the void.

According to this Archive, Olivia Dem'adas was furious at the insult and embarrassment of having her challenge refused. Intent on proving the "would-be Mand'alore" unworthy, Olivia rallied her fleet and prepared to assault Vilaz Munin and his followers. Declaring him a false Mand'alor, Olivia insisted that the young Mando'ad needed to be dethroned before he could do any more harm to the Mando'ade. And, if he wouldn't face her alone, then she was determined to face him on the battlefield.

Olivia would prepare her fleet and forces at an undocumented rallying point. Spearheading the fleet was a pair of the mighty Alor-class Dreadnoughts and a core of several Keldabe-class Battleships. One of which being the infamous Type 3 model, an experimental version of the warship that incorporated a device capable of generating an artificial wormhole. Intending to arrive without triggering hyperspace activity alarms, thus awarding herself an element of surprise in her attack, Olivia had planned to utilize this dangerous prototype to quickly transport her fleet to the base where she believed Vilaz Munin most likely to be.

Unbeknownst to Olivia though, Death Watch operatives had infiltrated the crew roster of her over-extended fleet and made it aboard Clan Dem'adas's flagship, one of the two massive Alor-class Dreadnoughts. Planning to set the ship up to suffer a catastrophic hyperdrive failure the next time it attempted to enter Hyperspace, the operatives had stashed a sizable quantity of Firegems aboard the ship and had escaped to other Dem'adas warships via EVA. While the Death Watch operatives had surely thought they would be escaping harm aboard the other warships when the Alor Dreadnought's hyperdrive failed, they could not have known about the new wormhole technology, or that Olivia would be inconsolable enough to order her entire fleet through it at once.

As the sabotaged dreadnought entered the event horizon of the wormhole, an as-yet unidentified stellar phenomenon occurred. Hypersonic sub-space harmonic vibrations ripped through the wormhole ahead of the ship, accompanied by a powerful burst of sensor-frying microwaves and exotic, radioactive particles. The ships that had already entered the wormhole would find themselves blind and disabled, tumbling through the phenomena. For the ships that had yet to enter the wormhole, their fate would remain unknown as no contact with such ships would ever again be made.

The ship that bore Olivia through the wormhole would exit the phenomenon powered down and suffering from overloaded sensors, fried power conduits, a reactor at critical levels, and a melted hyperdrive. Unsure of what had just happened to her ship and her fleet, Olivia ordered emergency repair crews to their tasks as she rushed to the ship's observation deck. Once there, Olivia would be shocked to discover that her ship now drifted in a void entirely unlike the one from which they had come. They had, somehow, been tossed into Otherspace. And, more disturbing, Olivia feared that they were alone in strange alternative dimension.

As power was restored and makeshift repairs to the sensors brought limited sight to the warship, Olivia would discover that numerous Dem'adas warships had been scattered throughout Otherspace, each heavily damaged and isolated from one another. Concerned messages were broadcast throughout Otherspace as Dem'adas commanders reported the condition of their ship and their crew and awaited further orders from their leader. Before Olivia could formulate a plan to regroup, let alone escape the disorienting dimension, a new and panicked transmission began to cross the dark of Otherspace as the commander of the surviving dreadnought reported the appearance of several unidentified masses moving towards his ship.

With a shiver, Olivia would recall stories of the strange creatures that were native to Otherspace and their religious obsession with ending all life.

Olivia would order all commanders to make best speed towards the surviving dreadnought, though no further transmissions would be received from the craft. And with her fleet spread over an area wider than a solar system and with no functioning hyperdrives in the fleet, it would take days before the first ship would arrive. However, as fate would have it, the first ship to arrive at the Dreadnought would prove to be the very Keldabe Battleship that had opened the initial wormhole, and the ship upon which Olivia herself crossed the void.

An extensive debris field would greet Olivia Dem'adas as she neared the last known coordinates of what should have been her current flagship. Though obvious signs of mechanical components littered the debris, the field largely appeared to be comprised of shattered asteroids. Most of which appeared to be only a few meters in diameter, but several of the shattered asteroids were several hundred meters in length and required careful navigation to traverse. Eventually, though, the Dreadnought would be found in a derelict state. Severely damaged and apparently docked with an asteroid twice the size of the warship, no electronic or mechanical emissions were detected from the craft.

board the ship
discover the ship empty
be attacked by strange creatures
be attacked by stranger mutant creatures
realize that the stranger creatures are the former crew
be attacked by Charon Warriors
fight to the heart of the Charon asteroid
Set off explosive charges next to some sort of reactor

detach the dreadnought from the asteroid before it blows up
tow the dreadnought away
await reinforcement while initiating repairs upon the dreadnought

send scouts to explore nearby planets
fight off charon ships
get contacted by Cult of Light Charon
Get told

Attacked from behind by a number of Charon warships. Heavily damaged and unable to flee to hyperspace, Olivia is forced to fight off the attackers.

Charon Spider-people engage in boarding operations against the Mandalorian ships.
High casualties, but the Charon forces are beaten back and the remaining enemy ships limp away.
As does Olivia and her fleet.

Fleeing to a nearby stellar phenomena that should hide their signatures, they take stock of themselves.
Begin sending exploration teams to nearby and distant worlds in search of the parts they need to repair their ship's Hyperdrives.

Dead worlds with dead civilizations on them.
Charon attack again.
Olivia orders the fleet to retreat.

Ships still heavily damaged, Olivia keeps the fleet moving as scouts explore the depths of Otherspace in search of Hyperdrive parts.

This goes on for months.
Raids against Charon outpost.
Charon raids against the Dem'adas Fleet.
People are dying.
Olivia is spending too much time in The Chair of her Keldabe T3 and is becoming obsessive.
Slowly becoming more and more paranoid.

Clansman by Clansman, crew by crew, and ship by ship, members of her clan begin to abandon Olivia's command and try to find their own way out of Otherspace.

Eventually, they discover the Charon "Cult of Light". After several tense weeks of negotiation, the Cult of Light joins up with Clan Dem'adas hoping to escape Otherspace. The Cult of Light tells Olivia of a planet that still has ruins of an industrial civilization on its surface. For 18 months straight, Olivia's Ships continue to burn hard for the planet, fighting off Charon Death Cult raids the whole time.

When they arrive at the planet, they discover a sizable fleet of Charon ships in orbit.
They must fight off the Charon warships...
They claim the planet and begin sending teams to the surface...
Scrapping several of the smaller ships, Clan Dem'adas scavanges parts from the scrapped ships to repair several factories and mining complexes on the surface of the planet.
Begin building thousands of droids to aid in the work and supplement the crew that have been lost in the months of combat.
Charon Cult of Light Bioscientists serve as medical staff, as well as helping to build some bio-constructs to supplement the Mandalorians in their efforts.

Charon Death Cult ships make occasional raids and strikes against the planet.
It takes another 18 months of work before the first Hyperdrive is constructed.
Six months later and Clan Dem'adas cram all of their people, Charon, Droids, and Bio-Constructs into a single Alor-class Dreadnought and a few Keldabe-class Battleships.
Together, this small force activates their hyperdrives and leave Otherspace behind.

Arrives near Tof controlled space, remaining fleet comes under attack by "treasure planet" style pirates.

Initially doing well against the ships in spite of their heavy damage, Olivia orders a retreat as sensors show more ships arriving.

Olivia ends up in Nagai space. Nagai are unfamiliar with the designs, assume the ships are stolen by Tof, and attack.
Olivia fights off this attack, destroying several of the "ornate" ships in the process.
The commander of this fleet would take personal offense to this slight and consider his honor stained by his defeat. Vows to exact revenge upon whoever commands the fleet.

Nagai withdraw, Olivia's ships limp off to a world that appears uninhabited to gather food and other supplies.
The Mandalorians and Charon bask in the warmth of a sun for the first time in years.

Sharuka arrive with a small fleet of 2-5 Cruisers. Sharuka run the world and assume the Mandalorian ships are invaders or raiders. Overwhelming weapons and armor systems catch Olivia off-guard and several ships are lost.
Olivia orders a retreat.

Several more skirmishes occur.
Olivia tries to seek peace with the Nagai Alliance. Nagai aren't having it. It's an issue of honor.
Olivia must contend with speed, weapons, and stealth from the Nagai Alliance.
Olivia must contend with extreme armor and weapons from the Sharuka.
Olivia must contend with exotic maneuvering systems and boarding actions from the Tof.
Olivia's still haunted by the Charon battles.

Olivia eventually picks up a distress call from a group of Mandalorians under attack by Tof raiders.
Arrive to discover a Nagai ship under attack.
Olivia saves the Nagai ship from Tof ships and discovers that there are Mandalorians living on both Nagi and Tof.
Discovers that there are a handful of human Mandalorians, but that most are Nagai, Tof, or Maccabree.
Besh Mandalorians are interested in Clan Dem'adas and want to know more about the Mandalorians from the main galaxy, as they have lost their history regarding this. (It's been, like, 1,000 years)

Olivia learns about the Nagai Trade Spine Hyperlane, but nobody knows much about navigating it safely.
Unusual Hyperspace activity keeps Clan Dem'adas from attempting the transit without a guide.
The Sharuka Imperials "happen" to own territory that needs to be traversed to get to the main galaxy.
The Sharuka will not allow the Mandalorian ships to pass unmolested.
Clan Dem'adas does not have the force required to break through their blockade and reach the main galaxy.

Begins to repair existing ships, commits to extensive use of droid crew, and begins designing brand new ships that can deal with BOTH the Nagai style of combat and the Sharuka style of combat AND the Charon style of combat.

Borrows technology from the Nagai, Tof, and Charon.

Establishes strong ties with the planets of Tof and Nagi (?)
Spends two years establishing outposts, factories, and shipyards.
Builds several entirely new classes of ship.

Years pass... Olivia no longer cares about getting revenge on Munin, but she's still concerned about the fate of Mandalore and her family there. Her focus now is on keeping her band of Mandalorian Clans safe. The Tof hate them for their Nagai members and the Nagai hate them for their Tof members.

Olivia is preparing to launch an assault on the Sharuka blockade....

Jorus Merrill and his band of misfits arrive in Firefist.
Olivia discovers them and comes to their aid.
Jorus Merrill and friends show Olivia the way back home.
After Olivia bloodies the nose of the Sharuka forces in Besh.
