That is correct?, But I was referring to SWRP:Chaos mostly. Because the Sith of old are the Sith on the Board or at least i hope their not.

I voted yes for the following reasons...

OOC reason: most of the wars caused in Star Wars were orchestrated either by Flrce Users, Mandalorians, or....well, ForceUsers. They can manipulate the field of play in ways non force sensitive people can't, sway minds, use powers to acquire information and resources, conquer the Galaxy while barely doing anything with their own two hands (Palpatine)

IC reason: Venris has a witch who has marked him, and if it meant having her off his back he'd swear off using the Force forever.

I voted no, only because they aren't holding me back.

In fact, they are what drives me forward.

As for the us part of the equation however, I'm feeling rather indifferent. If technology was going to progress within the last 40 thousand years or so, it would have, regardless of adversity. Why? Because in my opinion, adversity is the mother of invention, and our galaxy has no shortage of adversity. Granted, it is usually the force users causing a ruckus.

So the galaxy has plateaued a bit, but given the sheer size and scale of the civilization we're talking about, every second a civilization is probably born, just as soon as another is snuffed out. Technology both advanced and primitive will come and go like fireflies, and its up to the opportunistic to take them, sell them everywhere, and make sure its usefulness is spread around before it vanishes into the night.

Even if the galaxy were somehow wholly united, how long can the unity last to have any meaningful effect? The answer is, too short. The vast scope of the galaxy is too big, and it will have a slow climb to the level of rakatan or celestial technology. Force users, or no force users.

ANYWAY, don't you think it would be cool if there was an entire faction of Amon's? The mask is mandatory to become a member, and everyone is equipped with the necessary tools to take your bending away- whoops! Wrong genre :p

As the Force is biologically based and follows basic laws of genetics it could be eliminated from a controlled populations gene pool. It would take a lot of effort, but extermination of the sensitives could happen.

There's also been some Sith on Chaos who achieved immortality.

Like Darth Moridin.

And then his consciousness was torn into thousands of thousands of pieces and scattered across Chaos so he could never reform.

RIP

The Force is more than just biologically based, it's also in the supernatural and is an essential part of life, as the Force flows through every living thing.

Save for the Yuuzhan Vong, but there's a canon reason why that is.

I ticked no, purely because I don't feel they're holding anyone back.

HOWEVER the faction is a good idea, and it seems like a natural culmination of events (so many bad things have happened due to the Force and its user, after all!)

Force users have become too cliche. And their powers are ludicrous. I learn about a new Force power every day that makes me giggle... and then groan.

They don't need to be offed so much as they need to be super-nerfed.

From a canon-historical perspective, Force users are far too influential for such a big galaxy. I don't think it's understood just how rare a Force-sensitive person is supposed to be. [member="Anja Aj'Rou"] and I went over this once in a chat, and Anja calculated (based on canon info) that the Force user population percentage would be roughly 1 * 10-12. That's a very tiny amount of people. And while the galaxy is huge and that equates to a lot of Force users, the galaxy is huge, so every Force-sensitive being is never going to be discovered by someone who can teach them.

That being said, Force users are awesome... in moderation. I like the Old Republic-era Jedi just as much as the next guy, but I prefer to see the 99.999...% be acknowledged as influential people in their own right. Ultimately, the Rebel Alliance succeeded without Force utilization affecting much at all--except for a lucky shot down a pipe! :p

And just because you're not a Force user doesn't mean the Force isn't with you. :)

So it's not really the Forcies holding the galaxy back. It's the writers' unrelenting emphasis on Forcies that does the galaxy in time and again.

ICly, I believe a Forcie purge will do us some good. ;)

This! So much this!

But seriously. I agree with the statement... Personally I find absolutely nothing wrong with people roleplaying their characters the way they want but it does irk me when writers don't account for things like... Invisible populace. There's so much potential for NFUs and frankly they really should be more powerful than FUs in the sense that they stand out less in a crowd and are likely to have greater support. That's sort of the perks of an NFU, you're not a big fat target.
