Graxin considered the question. He had seen the beasts once on Mytus, pets of the SIth Lords that had once controlled the world. They were vicious and brutal creatures, taking apart even the greatest of the Sith's gladiators with relative ease. The Knight held them akin to little rancors. He reached for his twin blades, and grumbled a silent curse. What was the best course of action here? The Peacekeepers were already pulling out large masses of pure Phrik ore. It wouldn't be too long until they'd taken all that was needed.

"They're resistant, but not invincible. We fight as one, like we always do. At the very least we drive it off, at best we rid the galaxy of another monster." Graxin replied. It was then that the pile of bones moved. One massive three clawed finger, then a scaly arm, then a blunt head filled with razor sharp teeth. Beady yellow eyes stared at the two Jedi.

And then it charged.

"Move!"

Away from the deadly monsters Rexus bobbed his head up and down to some music that was coming from the ship. All and all this wasn't a very bad mission, they got some sun and got to see some beautiful volcanos. It was really shaping up to be a good day. Rex sat back and pat a small beat on the mini gun. He began to hum a tune and sat there watching more and more ore be mined out by the team of peace keepers. He smiled and began to sing softly to himself "Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more." Bobbing his head to the side in tune to the beat he reached back and turned up the song until it echoed in the cave where Graxin and friends were fighting the deadly beast

However this was not a very good idea, the second beast of the pair picked up the music and began to head towards the mining operation to track down the source of the music. The large beast would be upon the crew in a minute and Rex and friends were still none the wiser of what was about to happen

He thought on what his master said, Kaigann recalled the events that got them here where they were now, the challenges they faced. Whatever was thrown at them, whether it was a Terentatek or not, he knew they would conquer it. His breathed out a slow deep exhale before setting his eyes on the pile of bones before him, slowly the beast they sought crawled out from depths of the dead. Reaching for his lightsaber, the jedi padawan readied himself for combat against the fabled Jedi Killer.

"Move!"

The beast charged at the duo, larger than he had expected. Rushing into combat the Terentatek came towards it's prey with quick ferocity. Kaigann leapt to life in an effort to dodge the savage beast, crashing down onto the ground the Jedi quickly rose to his feet. Setting his sights on the monster the padawan avoided jumping into battle like he had done some many times before and waited for Graxin to move, to strike as one.

How to deal with this?

The Knight pressed his lips into a thin line, and pitched a roll as the Terentatek drew close. He tucked just under a massive claw and sprung to his feet just as the monster spun about. He had its focus, as he had wanted. The Knight's hand thrust forward in an open palm, and a jet of white hot flame shot toward the beast. For a moment, the Sithspawn was enveloped in a holy flame. It screamed as its flesh was burned and warped--and charged. Graxin was forced to cut off his assault, and drew his blades.

He barely sidestepped the claws, and struck with both blades on the creature's arm. It grumbled its displeasure, but the weapon only left faint scorch marks on its skin. The Terentatek swung again. Graxin caught its claws on his blades and found himself stumbling back from the force of the blow. The monster pressed forward, and Graxin dropped into Soresu, ready to parry the monster's claws.

With luck, Kaigann would strike to further distract the creature. Then, Graxin would come in once more.

It wouldn't kill the beast, but it would buy the Peacekeepers more time near the mining vein. They were beginning to fill the shuttles now with their prizes, and to their own credit, remained calm as they fell under attack. Graxin and Kaigann only needed to fend off their attacker for a bit of time before they could retreat with the rest.

Rexus smiled tapping his feet to gbe beat and bobbing his head still, he may of looked like a fool but that didn't matter. They were on a hellish world and if he couldn't have a little fun and blast some tunes then what was the point? Rex smiled and sang a bit more "Well I don't know! What can I do?!" He chuckled and sat back in his chair and all was well for a moment. However that all came to a bone shattering end when the beast came charging out from the bowls of the cave towards him. And behind him was the mining crew and the ore. Rexus gasped and cocked back the weapon system

He aimed it from his chair and the tripod at the savage beast and opened up. Fire extended from the barrels as hundreds of rounds left the barrels of the machine, the rounds flew forward and met their mark on the beast. Blood splattered the walls of the cave but the beast kept charging at Rex. Wherever Grax was he at least would have one less of these things to worry about. Rex kept thumping away rounds as the monster roared in pain now bounding in different directions causing the rounds Rex sent down range to miss him so the monster could close the distance. Behind him the workers were none the wiser and kept on mining phrick their suits and loud machines covering up the sound of gunfire and roars

Kaigann ignited his lightsaber and struck as one with his master, he continued to follow suit in his master's strategy. Attacking to distract, moving to dodge, repeating as they went along to buy the mining crew time to finish the operations deep in the cavern complex. Luckily, his master had held the beast's attention most of the time due to being the more aggressive in attacking the creature, aggravating the beast.

As the two continued, his master broke into Soresu parrying off the overwhelming strikes. Kaigann moved in to strike at the beast, to distract it's attention from Graxin. He got what he wanted. As he rushed in the beast twisted with a roar and swiped with a backhand sending the unsuspecting padawan back from the force applied. Rolling across the ground the padawan rose to his feet slowly, by then he suspected it would have turned it's attention back to Graxin, yet he gave nothing to chance as he rushed into battle again despite the pain from the blow.

Graxin breathed a quiet sigh as the beast faltered for a moment. Lightsaber resistant or not, a few well placed slashes would still kill the thing. It could have likely ripped the two Jedi apart given enough time. The problem was, a creature such as itself could not afford to sustain injury. It would have to remain inactive to heal, and thus starve. Its mate would not help it survive--rather it would likely end the wounded Teretatek's life and use its carcass for food. The monsters were cruel and ruthless beings, after all.

The Knight stuck against the side of its face as one of its claws carved a shallow, but bloody furrow into its arm. Its other hand rose to slice his throat as Kaigann's blade pierced its back. Screeching in agony, the Terentatek stared down at Graxin, and broke off from the attack. It whirled about, and charged off further into the cave.

The Knight breathed a sigh of relief, and hooked his lightsaber to his belt. He set one hand over his bloodied arm, and nodded back up toward the cave. "We've bought some time. The men should be done by now--let's get a move on." He breathed. The fight had been an exhausting one. The Knight errant slapped on his gas mask, and began to make his way up the cavern.

Rexus refocused on his target sending more and more bullets at the monster, a small mountain of brass casing formed next to tbd mini gun and the barrels were glowing red hot and were beginning to slag. He hit the beast across it's right foot and blew it off completely into a wet bloody stump. The monster buckled and went down writhing in pain, that must of hurt a lot. Rex put the canon between beasts eyes and smiled. "Say hello to my little friend." Rex pulled the trigger and nothing happened. He looked over to his left and the box of shells was empty. "Crap." He said sighing watching the beast stand back up still using it's bloody stump to balance itself.

The beast roared and ran at Rexus in an awkward fashion, reaching behind him Rex grabbed not his saber but the teneloss .44 that he kept on him at all times. He sprinted forward and slide beneath the wounded beast it's jaws barely missing snapping down on Rexus. Everything seemed to go in slow motion as Rex skid across the rough floor. He saw a wounded part of the beasts underbelly and he lifted the massive hand canon to empty the revolver into it's guts. The beast groaned and fell over dead as Rex popped out of the other side. "It hurts!" He said aloud, "it hurts! It hurts to be this damn good!!" Rexus looked back at the dead beast and realized the value in it's corpse. Oh yeah that was coming with him

Rexus walked back briskly to the crew to check on their progress, they were starting to wrap up and they had mined a very sufficient amount of ore from the caves. Rexus smiled and grabbed a few of them that were taking a break for a special job. Watching the ore being loaded onto the cargo ship Rex sent the people he grabbed to get some hover lifts to carry the body back to the ship. Rexus sent another to collect his mini gun and he did so silently. The team with the hover lifts walked towards the dead body hoisting it up onto the lifts to take it back to the ship where it would be loaded into the ship and not left here to bake into a nice roast.

When Graxin were to return he would see the ships were loaded up with ore and were ready to launch back into space to head back home. Rex missed his shows and he was glad as he and the team loaded the final pieces of equipment and ore into the ships. It was time to go. Removed his hot suit and the cool refreshing air hit him like a weight. He bathed in it and sat down in a chair happy and ready to get the hell out of here.

Kaigann rammed his lightsaber into the back of the sithspawn as it screeched in pain from the blow, stopped from reaching it's target it stared down Graxin before fleeing into full retreat from the Jedi duo. Shifting his attention from the beast as it fled to his injured master the padawan sighed, "Are you alright master?" His injuries were minor, bruises from being manhandled, his master on the other hand had gone toe to toe with the beast and suffered an injury because of it.

"We've bought some time. The men should be done by now--let's get a move on."

He breathed a deep breath as he deactivated his lightsaber and placed his mask back on, he followed his master back into the caverns toward the crew. By now they had to have mined the phrik and gotten what they needed, their battle with the sithspawned Jedi Killer would not be for nothing.

"I'll survive Kaigann. Nothing bacta won't fix--thank you for your concern." Graxin replied with sincerity. The boy was growing into a fine young man, and Graxin was there to see the progress. He was still headstrong, but one day, Kaigann would make an excellent Jedi Knight. Perhaps a star of the Reformation when all was said and done.

They escorted the last few miners aboard the shuttles, and Graxin settled in one of the cargo bays. He removed most of his heat suit, and allowed the cool air to help himself relax. Quietly, he turned to Kaigann, and offered a small smile. "You've done well Kaigann. Few can say they fought a Terentatek and lived to tell the tale..." He paused as the ships took to the skies. They would be heading toward Ession--toward the Grand Temple, toward home. "I'm proud of you, my Padawan."

Kaigann nodded in reply to Graxin, his answer eased the Jedi's concerns. Within the next few moments they escorted the remaining miners onto the cargo vessels and prepped for take off. Entering the shuttle, Kaigann removed his mask, tossing it to the side as he breathed in the cool air of the ship's interior. The ship took to the sky leaving the caverns behind, his gaze shifting from the window to his master as he spoke to Kaigann.

"The credit is with you master, she seemed pretty infatuated with you during the fight. A fan maybe?" He chuckled for a moment before looking over the men and women before him that made up the mining crew, "Thanks master, I will strive to continue making you proud."

They left for Ession, they left for home.
