Arresting A King

[member="Corvus Raaf"]

Romeo chuckled again, turning around to face her, and walking backwards, his devilish smirk came again. "So you say, it was a question simple nature, but as to comment on your question, as I have no question at the moment to ask, and you did not ask me one back, is this.." He stopped in his tracks, and held up his right hand in his jacket pocket. "If you would not consider me ally, or some other darksider....why would you treat at most as a new friend whom you just met? Why have you not taken me in for judgment? These are questions not needing answers simply a statement." He turned back around an kept walking. He hummed a little to himself, and smiled brightly as he did with his eyes closed. The place had that atmosphere to make people talk a lot, at least Romeo thought this.

When he finally reached the stall, he ordered the two teas from the old man whom his cousin has shown him to. After getting the teas, he went back to the Jedi Master, and handed one to her. He took a sip of his, letting the warm, bitter, yet sweet liquid go down in his throat in glee.
After shivering in all the goodness of the tea, Romeo looked into the Jedi's eyes. "Allow me to ask one more question, and in return you may ask two or more. Which ever. Do you find me attractive? I find you attractive." He smirked again. This was a trick question.

And there was the joker again. Now she wasn't sure which version she preferred.

"I don't judge. Break a law, I arrest you. Give me long enough to find a law you've broken, I arrest you. For now, we talk" She smiled kindly at him as they ordered and received their tea.

Corvus took the tea and sipped it. Much nicer than the cup she recently had on Attahox. Sadly she sprayed a small amount over her 'host' once he'd asked his question. He was more direct than the Padawans she'd met, but the outcome was the same.

"I am a Jedi. I serve. I have no time for relationships and am forbidden to have attachments. So I do not see you or anyone else as attractive or otherwise. You are simply...a person. No more and no less. Does that surprise you?"

Romeo stood there, dripping with tea on his face, and blankly looked at the woman. "Well....I'm not surprised by your answer..more so by your reaction." He wiped his face, and shook his head. "By the force woman...is it hard to accept blunt question?" he sipped his tea again, and looked up. "I have broke laws, I have theft, murder, smuggling, and more under my belt." He shook his hair, and ran his hand through, "But I also have aided the Republic, the Queen of Naboo. I have been there, and done that, but you know what I havent done?" He sipped his tea once more.
"I havent been with a Jedi. My bucket list as some stuff still needing marked off....like Isolda's head on my right hand on my throne." He looked back at the woman, and then at his tea.
"Being king has so many benefits." He sipped his tea again. "And cons..that cons are everywhere...luckly my daughters keep me company, and my liege is consisted of friends I hold dear...otherwise this would be a boring job." He went on. "But I do so love the Jedi, with all their righteousness, and codes. No love? No sex? Honorable..but unnecessary. Compassion, and passion walk hand in hand..my only code."

Corvus would have blushed if she hadn’t predicted some of his response. She was truly apologetic for sharing her tea with him in such an unorthodox fashion. But to openly admit to his crimes? That just made life more difficult. There could be no gentle benefit of the doubt now. He was a self-confessed criminal and she was duty-bound to arrest him - just as much as he was no doubt obliged to bed a pretty woman.

“I am sure you have many positive qualities and an…interesting range of wishes but I fear any Jedi that lies with you is a greater deceiver than you. They won’t be in my eyes at least a true Jedi.”

“In fact it seems just as odd to me that a life has to rely on emotion. That you require such stimulus to function. I am, oddly, a natural Empath - or at least that aspect of the Force is to me one I can’t switch off. I have lived my life with a ‘durasteel’ wall around my mind. Otherwise I would quite literally be overwhelmed by every person you see around you. So you see, to me, emotion would almost literally kill me.”

She paused for a few seconds, clearly weighing up a question.

“But with all of your abilities, why sully yourself with petty theft and smuggling? Aren’t you…I don't know, better than that?”

Romeo laughed, and gently nudged her playfully, and smiled friendly at her with what she had to say. He sat down on the side walk, and continued to sip his tea, and then leaned back on one arm. He contemplated her question, as it was a very good question indeed. Was he better? He looked up at the atmosphere of the the planet. "I dont know...am I better? Can I be better is a more excellent question." He sighed, and looked at her. "Truth is...The only way to truly escape the mundane is for you to constantly be evolving. Whether you choose to aim high, or aim low. Enjoy each day for what it is. I am who I am and there is nothing wrong with that. The days continue like they always have, bringing neither excessive desire nor despair, nothing's changed. Yet I'm overwhelmed by this sense of fulfillment. I'm over here, you're over there. If I'm your savior, then you're mine." He lifted his hand that was holding him up, and used his back to keep him from falling all the way backwards. With a snap of his finger, a small flame appeared. "And I am naturally gifted with the art of fire, and love my dear." He took his index finger, and began to mold the fire with it, drawing in the air with it, to form a heart. "See? Fiery passion is what fuels me to do what I do master Jedi...but you pass my test. I fully respect you know." He flicked his fingers, and the fire dissipated. As he stood up, he brought his hand out. "What can I do to make your life easier?"

Corvus stared into her cup. This was not how she expected the situation to develop. She even allowed his playful nudge, although he could probably sense she’d tensed her muscles as a result.

But she followed suit and sat on the edge of the street. They would make an incongruous pair to any passers-by. Most gave them a wide berth, clearly not assured that their current ceasefire would last. And as she glanced at him she could tell her question was causing him to think. Up until now his answers seemed off the cuff. Had she struck a nerve, as he had done with her?

Yes, she’d definitely struck gold as he changed the question before answering it. And then he started talking in riddles before returning to the pyrotechnics.

“I learn but I am not so sure I evolve. But I never feel I am in any way living in a world of the mundane. It is interesting that you think this way. I fear your life lacks purpose. Oh you talk of goals or accomplishments but these are not a purpose.”

“And you talk so self-assured of your control of fire and love. Yet you can conjure a flame with the snap of your fingers whereas you’ll never know me intimately. I’m beyond you. Perhaps that’s what attracts you. Which is why the petty criminal activity bothers me. You aspire for passion with one that you must know will never accede. Whereas you are content to steal and smuggle. On that basis you should be aiming for ladies of the night with your love desires. You are truly an enigma.”

“And I am not sure if I should be happy or not that you respect me. I’m not sure what that actually means. But to answer your question, what would make my life easier would be if you handed yourself in to answer for your crimes.”

She raised a playful eyebrow. “Well you did ask.”

Romeo watched her with eyes that said, I dont really know where I am going, and listened with an open heart. He smiled at her, and sipped the last bit of his tea. It was very relaxing to be able to just talk to the woman, instead of fight, and he regretted nothing. This was the will of the force for him to stop and turn around to hug her.
"Aye...that does seem to be the case doesnt it?"
He threw the cup into the air, and snapped his finger at it, causing a small fireball to shoot out, and annihilated it in an instant. He chewed more on those words. Listening to what his emotions had to say about all this.
"If I were to bed you though, I would not have another Jedi Master to respect, and thus all hope would be lost in my eyes for the order. Two is better then one." He spoke in another riddle, but it simply meant, there was no two jedi he respected.
"As for turning myself in...that would not make your life easier..it would make it a living hell." He winked at her. "I did as though, you are right. And now that you know I will not go quietly...what will you do? Will you let me walk away? Or will you attempt to arrest me by force...though I might like that." He chuckled softly and did a little jig left, to right with his head, and waist.

What was it they said about people who played with fire? Oh, it would come to her sooner or later. But as she focused on the latest display, her brain was half a sentence behind her companion.

"What do you mean if? If? If! Rest assured you have two chances. None and non-existent. " She was aware he'd got to her. She calmed down immediately.

As her brain continued to process what he'd said sh wondered if, in his own way it was some form of compliment? Well not in her world it wasn't.

And then he was off again. The childish aspect of him dancing in front of her. He was infuriating and yet difficult to dislike at the same time. "I could cut you of from the Dark-side?" she said nonchalantly. "That might have an effect..."

She let the words hang - to see what impact they might have.

Romeo chuckled at her, "Calm down master of the force." He looked her in the face with a dead expression. "You will do no such thing." He smirked, and stood up, and turned to look at her, "Master Jedi." He bowed. "I must this has been the most pleasant night I have had on this planet." His hand slung forward, and card fell on her lap.
"If you ever wish to reach me, that as all the things you need to get a hold of me." He turned on his heel in a awkward way. "I bid you farewell my love." He laughed a little and began to walk away.

Corvus sat as his flattery continued to flow. He was difficult to be angry with for any length of time. He was, to Corvus, like a naughty child. She wondered at his concept of right and wrong. In the scheme of things he was - by his own admission - a petty criminal. He also seemed as much a thorn in the One Sith's side as he was the Republic's.

So she smiled at his back as he walked away. Tucking the card away in one of her pockets, she called after him. "I only heard you up to the 'Farewell' part. The rest I fortunately lost in the background noise. Until we meet again, at least do your best to make your misdemeanours little ones."

And she was unsure if it was necessarily a positive or not, but this was actually the best evening she'd spent on this planet. At least it beat having your ship blown up and defending yourself from Force Lightning. But now she was nit-picking.
