STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
+ Though it has rarely been for much more than sport, Asha knows her way around a blade.
+ As a sanguinius vampirika, Asha is biologically immortal. Her body does not age and she is immune to poison and disease. This does not mean she cannot die, however. Mortal wounds will still kill her and Nightshade is highly toxic to her.
+ Asha’s vampiric gift allows her to heal more quickly. Small wounds such as minor scrapes and burns will heal almost instantly, and feeding on another being will allow her to heal from severe wounds in mere hours. This, however, will lead to the victim's death.
+ Asha's vampiric traits also include heightened senses. She has and increased sense of smell and hearing, as well as natural night vision.
- Asha is highly and aggressively allergic to ultraviolet radiation. Exposure to sunlight will cause burns and blistered skin and prolonged exposure will cause severe injuries. Sunlight will strain her eyes greatly.
- Asha has developed a 'silver allergy', which in truth is a nickel allergy. Upon contact her skin will burn and blister much like her allergy to ultraviolet radiation, and prolonged exposure will lead to dire injuries that will not easily heal.
- In order to sustain herself she is forced to feed on the blood of others. If she has not fed for a prolonged amount of time she will get progressively more feral until her hunger is sated.
- The vast majority of her time spent as a vampire has been as a member of house Thrune, under living conditions that suited her kind. Being on her own now, Asha has difficulty adjusting.
APPEARANCE:
Asha has dyed white hair, which she prefers to tie up. She is 183cm tall and sports a very pale skin complexion due to her inability to stay in the sun for long. Her green eyes turn a bright yellow during times of emotional distress, during which her already elongated canines and latheral incisors will elongate even further. She tries to hide those teeth as much as possible. She has a scar underneath her left eye, although she does not talk about its origin.
BIOGRAPHY:
Pre-RP:
Asha grew up as the only child of Micah and Cozi Mataya. On the surface there was nothing remarkable about the family, but much like all secrets the one that Micah kept came out eventually. Unbeknownst to Cozi and Asha, he was involved in a spice cartel that had picked Selvaris as its base of operations, as the planet was considered to be overlooked by most of the galaxy entirely. When one decides to enter the world of illegality, however, enemies become an inevitability and for Micah, this would turn out to be fatal. While during a seemingly peaceful night, while young Asha walked into her parents' bedroom to tell them she couldn't sleep, she witnessed a masked man cut the throat of his father. What happened afterwards has not been shared with anyone to this day.
The aftermath of the event left Cozi and Asha with more than just financial issues. In order to get by, Asha's mother had to not only take care of her, but provide for them as well. The large amount of stress that it placed upon the two strained their relationship, which only worsened over time. The moment she was able to Asha packed her things and left, but without much of a clue where she would be going. During her aimless travelling she would eventually find a friend in Jace, a man not unlike her. He too didn't have much of a plan in life and after a drink or two they decided that aimless wandering was more fun with company. Most assumed the two to be a couple, something they definitely used to their advantage more than once, but they had never been more than friends.
Jace wasn't without his own secrets, however, and they would catch up to him in a cantina on Commenor. A group of bounty hunters stormed in with the clear goal of bringing him in, alive or dead, and while Asha's reflexes helped her bolt out of the cantina Jace never had such a chance. This behavior did not go unnoticed by the bounty hunters, who assumed her to be an accomplice to whatever her friend had done in the past and after a short chase she was given a blaster shot in the back. After confirming she wasn't worth anything in terms on a bounty, she was left for dead in an alleyway.
It seemed fate wouldn’t let her die, however. The Sanguinius Vampirika by the name of Amelia Sorenn-Syrush found Asha’s almost lifeless body, but it was quite clear time was running out for her. There was only one option if she were to survive: Impart her vampiric gift onto the young woman. Only few who undergo such a thing survive, but Asha’s mind and body were resilient enough. She miraculously survived the transformation which allowed her to recover from the blaster hit. Amelia would later adopt her, giving her a new home in the noble house Syrush.
RP:
Not long after being taken into the Sorenn-Syrush family Asha was given a position within Sorenn-Syrush Industries, where she become the head of the droid division. The responsibilities that came with it were not taken lightly and her work would quickly become her near-sole focus, often running long hours to live up to the expectations of her adoptive mother. She respected her greatly- not just for saving her life, but giving her a new family as well. For her it was a way to repay the favor.
But as the woman had learned by now, nothing was ever certain. Various developments had house Syrush come under fire and Amelia was killed in an attack while she visited Commenor, once again taking away the person she relied on most. This time however, things would turn out differently as some time later she would come face to face with her once again, learning that the woman who got killed was in fact a clone, sent there to stage her death. From the ashes of the now-dismantled house Syrush a new one would rise. Asha at first agreed to follow Amelia once again and joined house Thrune, but once again, it didn't last long.
The family around her struggled to find its bearing and Amelia would vanish once again. Seeing this as a sign, Asha decided to shed herself of the adoptive name she carried, reclaim her independence and find a new calling.
